Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

An Ulta team member recommended this brand to me after I spent about 20 minutes staring at BareMinerals hopelessly. My first Philosophy foundation purchase was their Take A Deep Breath Cushion Foundation. I fell in love with the product, but not the container. I thought the application pad absorbed way too much of the product and it didn't last me long enough at all, especially for the price.
I decided to try this foundation hoping for the same coverage/results but a longer use - this was perfect! This bottled usually lasts me 3-4 months (one, 2-pump application a day) Not only will the product last all day, it wont cake or become greasy by the end of work! I also have extremely acne prone skin and I haven't had a single breakout since using this!!!! (Used to use store brand foundation with acne meds in it and broke out all the time still)
Seriously nothing beats this foundation! Finding the perfect light, matte foundation has given me confidence and HOPE.

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

Love the formula of this foundation - I get compliments on my skin when I wear it. It doesn't settle into fine lines, has decent light coverage, and makes my skin feel smooth and healthy. If you're needing to correct a lot of discoloration this foundation won't give you what you need as it's not anywhere near full coverage. Unfortunately I cannot find a good shade match in it. I have warmer/yellow undertones and these tend to run more cool and neutral. I've tried adding yellow pigment drops but that just seems to make the foundation turn more orange. Would love to see more warm shades because again, the formula is excellent.

Don't buy foundation with a pump dispenser!

Cons

  • Difficult To Apply

Best Uses

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

I don't know who thought the pump dispenser was a brilliant idea but I think it's the worst. The pump clogs easily but if you press hard or too many times, it shoots out all over, making a mess, ruining clothes, and wasting the product. I've tried cleaning it out, adding a bit of water because I thought maybe it was thickening up but it really didn't work. I suppose I could just throw away the pump but then I wouldn't have a cap for the make up. This was a waste of my hard earned money as I used only about half the bottle. It's a decent make-up and I would have finished the bottle had it not been so annoying to apply. I'm sticking to make-up that comes in a simple tube or bottle for now on.

I love this foundation. It goes on smoothly and covers what it needs to. I have combination (AND OLD) skin, and it works wonders. The same brand makes a product to reduce under-eye circles, and I love it, too. And the skin-firming body lotion. Oh, and ...

This does not provide any coverage if you have any amount of redness or discoloration. It also was gone halfway though my workday, even though I use mally primer on top. Going to return this bc it is a big waste.

Comments about Philosophy Hope In A Jar Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20:

I don't ever leave reviews for anything- but this foundation is so underrated. I've tried so many foundations, full coverage to light coverage, (nars, naked skin, laura mercier, double wear, etc.) but none of them work as well as this. I only tried it because I got a philosophy cleanser I loved and decided to try foundation too! It's blends perfectly into my skin and makes it look like I have perfect, healthy skin that is NATURAL. It's not too matte, not too shiny. It stays on pretty well too, which is hard to find in a lighter coverage foundation. It doesn't dry me out or leave me oily. Use it with Laura mercier translucent powder and you won't regret it!!

I've used this product for some time now and I really like it. It is lightweight and evens out my skin-tones. When I visited my parents over the holiday they commented on how good my skin looks! The only con would be the price is a little high for most people but the product is great.
