Most Helpful Positive Review Way Better than Expected
I was hesitant about buying this product due to its small size, cheap/simple packaging, ingredients (Oil? See more info below) and the smell, but I gave it a try since it was on sale. I'm so glad I did!!
I like the consistency ~ it is very rich and creamy. I also like the color - it looks very natural like there are no artificial colors.
I'm not very found of the smell ~ it's hard to describe - it's not horrible, but it's not pleasant - the good thing is the smell DOES dissipate quickly once it's on the skin. The smell comes naturally from the ingredients. They didn't try to mask it with heavy a perfume - which is good because I dislike heavy perfumes verses the smell of this.
It says it contains peanut oil. HUH? I was skeptical and hesitant about putting that on my face, but after researching a bit, peanut oil has many benefits when used topically: Acts as an anti-inflammatory, contains vitamin E which is an antioxidant, it's an emollient that moisturizes dry skin, helps prevent blackheads, and includes properties that act as a barrier to preserve moisture. And no, there is no peanut aroma ~ you won't smell like peanut butter face!
I have pale, sensitive, combination skin that's on the dry side. I don't like wearing moisturizer on under my make up, so I put it on after I washed my face before bedtime. I dispensed a small amount of product into my palm then used one finger to gentle distribute and massage into each section of my face - concentrating on the areas prone to dryness. Keep in mind - less is more!! A little bit goes a long way. Again, the smell isn't my favorite, but it dissipated very quickly and I didn't even notice the smell after a little while. My skin felt slightly tacky at first, but like the smell, that faded also!
I went to bed thinking, "Ok here we go ~ I hope I don't wake up to redness or a breakout!!"
I woke up and ran the backside of my fingers against my check, then my nose... WOW! My skin felt supple and quenched. My makeup seemed to glide on better and the appearance of my skin looked brighter and visibly smoother.
I'm really glad I gave this product a chance ~ I think you should too!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review not for me
I tried samples o fthis and liked it so commited to a full bottle. It's been about 2 weeks and I dont like it. My face gets really greasy, but I do think it moisturizes well. So, I will keep it for the winter

Just like any normal moisturizer
Jessica from Connecticut
It's okay, It smells like normal moisturizer, I kind of wish is smelt a little bit more like honey. It does the job but it does make your face feel oily and gives you an oily shine if used during the day. I definitely would rather recommend using this as a night lotion, but personally I just feel like this is like any other kind of lotion. My skin is very dry I think that some of his other products hydrate my face a lot more efficiently and leave a cleaner look.
My favorite moisturizer
Lauren from Michigan
The moisturizer does not have a bad smell but kind of a honey-ish undertone. I think the smell is more pleasant than unpleasant - but its hardly noticeable
I have dry/combo skin and I always need around a pea size or double that. It leaves my face feeling smooth and the moisturize feels silky.
The bottle lasts a while for it's size and it is worth the price.
I loved this product just wish it was bigger!!

I loved the smell of this product and it really moisturized my skin and made it look glowy!

Great for 20's-30's
KitSoCal from SoCal
I started using this product in my early 20's because it's lightweight and has a mild level of AHA's. It has a light honey fragrance and is perfect for daytime use (though it does not contain sunscreen, so it's perfect for the office, but you'll need something else if you're going to be outside in the morning). Now that I'm in my 40's, I use a heavy moisturizer at night and just use the Honey Moisturizer during the day.
It's perfect - except for the peanut oil part.
Sherly from PA
I really like it, and I don't want to give it up. But, I've been using it for a week and I think the peanut oil ingredient in it has been making me break out even more. Other than that it is a great moisturizer for those who are not prone to breakouts. It's light weight and soft and super hydrating but not oily all at the same time. It's perfect - except for the peanut oil part.

A little bit goes a long way with this product. Even though it's slightly spendy for a small bottle, it's worth every penny. Refreshes my skin, supplying so much moisture. Leaves skin feeling extra smooth! I like to use it at night after cleansing and toning. You could also use it during the day, but I chose to use a lotion with SPF for daytime use.
You know you put it on...

As someone with combination skin, I'm always looking
for skin care products that don't sit heavy on my skin but are able the do the job. This moisturizer isn't it. I wash my face in the morning and moisturize, although my skin care routine is in the morning I can still feel the moisturizer sitting on top of my skin late in the afternoon.
Death in a bottle if you don't read the ingredients
Ro from Nope
Why would any company put peanut oil in face products???? Sooo risky! I am deathly allergic to nuts and it's a good thing that I regularly scan the ingredients to everything a million times. This could easily be death in a bottle for anyone with allergies who doesn't check beforehand (which could happen of course). Never understood the hype in peanut oil - use coconut or almond oil if anything! Just as nourishing and not as risky
Got another one for Christmas
Em from Michigan
After getting this as a sample i decided to get the whole bottle and i love it! It feels a little sticky but i mean it's honey so naturally it's going to be. Mario badescu is my favorite brand. I dont have sensitive skin but I'm scared to get away from this brand just in case I've become sensitive. There's some mixed reviews on this but honestly it's all up to your skin
Baby Banks from Olympia, WA.
Wonderful moisturizer than absorbs well into skin that provides a non- greasy smooth finish. Though it is not specifically meant as an eye cream, I am able to use it around my entire eye area without any irritation whatsoever!! Its great for my entire face!
Danny from Texas
I've been using this moisturizer for two years and haven't had a problem yet. Goes on smooth and my skin soaks it up within minutes. I use it morning and night and never had a problem with being too oily.
Only for cheeks
mb hm from Lubbock, TX
This moisturizer is an absolute NO for anyone with combination/sensitive skin. I had such bad texture on my forehead after using this product for 3 days. Definitely not something I'll buy in the future.
Go to face lotion
Amanda from Nevada
Been using this since high school. I'v tried a few other lotions from this brand but always end up going back to the honey moisturizer.
I am switching to this!
Megan from Glendale Heights, IL
I used to buy a different Mario lotion, but I tried this on a whim and I have no regrets, except that I wish I only bought this one! It's thicker than the Hydro moisturizer, but not pore clogging-thick. Pleasant smell as well, sweet but not overpowering. I have noticed my skin is more hydrated using this, and I'm very happy!

Leaves my skin feeling and looking great. Dewy, not greasy.
Ammina Rose from Chicago, IL
This moisturizer does a great job keeping the moisture in the skin. It attracts moisture the air keeping the skin hydrated and supple. The best moisturizer I've used from Mario Badescu.
Good for daily, not for repair
Drew from Olympia, WA
Got this product to repair severe dry spots from a sudden weather change. I thought the honey would help with that. It's working over time but isn't giving me that ultra hydration I was looking for. But, I will continue to use it as a daily moisturizer as it's very lightweight. (I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin for anyone wondering).
Broke me out
MariahJasnee from Maryland
It broke up out the next day.
Too greasy and broke me out
Anne from Georgia
I have dry sensitive skin so anything that says it has honey in it is always a yes for me. After using it a few times I noticed how oily my face got during the day. It was ungodly how greasy I was. Then the pimples stared to pop up and in the weirdest places. Like, around my mouth and in my smile line. And my skin started looking dull and my slight hyperpigmentation worsened. I sat a read the ingredients and it has peanut oil in it. Which could possibly be the culprit. I don't know but, what I do know is why m never buying this again.
Never believed "glowy" skin until now
Bec from New Jersey
I'm getting more into skin care and so I finally bought toner for the first time (Thayer's witch hazel) and then I use the Mario Honey moisturizer and let me tell you - I thought girls saying such and such product made their skin so glowy and all I think is "mhm sure" for years. Until NOW. I started experimenting with moisturizers for the past 6 months and this is by far my favorite.
It broke me out so bad
Jenny R. from Long Island, NY
I loved this moisturizer at first but it dried out my skin and it broke me out so bad. I haven't had a breakout this bad in a while. & I love this brand so much, I don't know what happened with this product.
great moisture. smells amazing.
Yogachick1975 from Tennessee
I have extremely dry patches on my face due to a specific medication. I'm also pretty sensitive, so I was concerned about the fragrance irritating my skin. this is a great daytime moisturizer for me, and my makeup (It CC Cream) wear a well over it. I haven't yet tried it in hot weather where my skin leans more towards "combination" skin, so I can't speak to how it works if you get a shiny T zone.
Love this moisturizer! Very hydrating and smells great
Shelly from Sherman oaks, ca
Love this product and skin care line. This is the only brand that has cleared up my skin.
