Most Helpful Positive Review Definitely recommend!!!!
I ran out of my PM Rodan and Fields lotion (Reverse line) and wasn't quite ready to make a full purchase so I was recommended this product by a consultant at Ulta (who's pores were so small)- I told her I needed something in the meantime that wouldn't make me break out and she showed me what she used. Being that I've already used Origins products before I was almost immediately sold. Purchased the product and am amazed at how much it shrunk my pores! (Genetically, they have always been big and was probably a reason I was so prone to break-outs before using Rodan and Fields and now- Origins Night-A-Mins). I've tried pretty much everything at this point including $80 face wash with the whole nine yards for skincare and nothing has worked as well as Origins and Rodan and Fields) I now use a very cheap face wash in addition to some expensive exfoliating face scrubs about every 3 days and my skin has never been better. Highly recommend this product for anyone that has had issues with blemishes because it does reduce pores significantly and almost immediately. VERY happy with my purchase. It does go on a bit greasy but it's a night time lotion so who really cares? I've never been unhappy with any Origins products to this day.
Most Helpful Critical Review Bait and Switch
Let me start by saying that the original formula of Night-A-Mins was my holy grail item. I recommended it to everyone! I've been using it as a night time moisturizer since at least 2012 and have only ever had a wonderful experience with it. I've been a loyal Origins skincare fan since 2004 when I was in high school and suffered from cystic acne. For Origins to take one of their most gentle and basic moisturizers and add AHA to it honestly feels like a betrayal. That sounds dramatic, but when I've been using a product daily for over seven years and all of a sudden, with no announcement or fanfare whatsoever, it becomes a PEEL, I feel betrayed. I have used and loved AHA serums in the past and this would've been a great concept for a new product. However, adding AHA to a basic moisturizer to convert it into a peel is just sneaky and deceitful. I have very sensitive skin, especially while I'm pregnant and breastfeeding. I'm currently pregnant and my skin cannot handle more than just basic cleanser and moisturizer right now. (Side note - I mentioned this to the sales associate when I was repurchasing this in December - she was trying to sell me a scrub - and she never mentioned the new formula.) My face looked and felt like I had a sunburn after using this for one night. I now have an open bottle of $45 moisturizer that I can't use for at least another 15 months (when I'm done breastfeeding) - so in other words, this is worthless to me now. Yes, I will use the chat feature to explore other options as you've been directing all other other negative reviewers to do. But you need to know that this was a bad business move and it has made me less inclined to trust your products.
Reviewed by 74 customers The best night cream
YourFriendlyBiochemist from Colorado
This is by far the best nightcream made by origins. I have used this every night for three years. I am still getting compliments on my skin. People assume I have some crazy nighttime ritual that only a biochemist could conjure... i just did my homework and researched the ingredients I wanted in my skincare. This is a great moisturizer that simply works. So, if you are on the fence but not sure if it will do what it claims-- it does.
my go to for my acne prone skin!!
jazzyb12 from Charlotte
I am in my late 20's and I have hormonal acne, pores, and. blackheads. I got a sample of this and I instantly loved it! I have purchased this 4 to 5 times now and I keep going back to this. it clears my skin and evens out my texture.
Yvonne from Houston, TX
I first used this as a sample, but I am now on my third jar. I'm 42 and I wake up with a refreshed, bright, youthful complexion. I initially used it daily for about three weeks and now I use it once or twice a week. Can't go without it!
Great for me
Alex from Wisconsin
I have very oily skin, with some exceptions of dryness in my cheeks and chin. I purchased this product in combination with The Ordinary zinc serum. Both of these did wonders to my skin. I woke up with skin that wasn't oily - for the first time in YEARS! My pores began to disappear, and my skin felt so smooth and looked bright. However, if I used The Ordinary serum too often in combination with this at night, I dry out in my cheeks and begin to get a burn, so I learned to alternate my serum and only apply during mornings. Overall, this did wonders for me!
Night cream of my dreams..
krust from Los Angeles
I've been curious about Origins products for a long time and received a gift set of sample/travel-sized products this past Christmas. This mini was included and I cherished every last drop.
Okay, this was in fact the first ever night cream I've tried. I never found it necessary to add another product to my minimal skincare routine, like do I really need to add a special moisturizer JUST for nighttime? Well, jokes on me because I don't want to live without this product. Smells really good, and the tiniest amount is good enough for my face and neck. When I wake up in the morning my face feels like butter in the best way possible!! I cleanse my skin at night with the Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash and follow with this after or right before bed.
Ultimately, highly recommend.
BEST AHA MOISTURIZER
Kalene from Temecula, CA
I love this... it smells good, my skin glows in the morning, it doesnt break me out and I am acne prone. Dont get it near your eyes though because it does have AHA which is an acid and it will burn your eyes. I recommend using an eye cream before applying and avoid the eye area. I apply this last in my routine every night. It gently exfoliates and gets rid of dead skin as well as helps with cell turnover causing new healthy skin to appear. My face feels like silk! The only downside is the price but its WORTH IT. I use it on my neck and chest as well. My skin glows wherever I apply it. I will continue to repurchase!!
Don't recommend for Acne-prone or younger skin
stellique from New York
i LOVE originis products but there is something wrong with either the new formula or this product in general. Anytime I use it I get a ton of small breakouts where I lay my head down on the pillow. :/ wanted to love it but a friend of mine who tried it and is the same age/ skin type as me said the same.
For reference I am 28 year old (White, Somewhat oilier skin)- I don't know if perhaps this product is for more mature skin?
The only cream that balances my skin
LauraFinn from Los Angeles
I've been trying different brands here and there, and I always come back to Night-A-Mins. It's the only cream that brings back the glow and moisture. Couldn't recommend it more!
Not suitable for sensitive skin
ach258 from Chicago, IL
It's been too much for my skin. I've been waking up every morning with red blotchy skin and have also been breaking out recently which only started happening when I began to use this product. I'm sure this is a suitable night cream for those who don't have sensitive skin though.
Finally the cream that my skin needs
San from New York
I noticed a difference the first morning when I used this cream overnight. I can feel that it keeps dead skin cells out of my pores and it smooths and hydrates my skin very well. I can say that this is the cream that I was longing for a long time and it does marvel to my oily skin that is prone to enlarged pores and blackheads mostly(usually I would get a big pimple once or twice a month, but after I started using this cream this was not the case). I purchased this cream, it is not part of a promotion and never leave reviews, but this is so good that I have to. Great work Origins!
Loved (discont.) Dr. Weil Bedtime Face Cream & Starting Over
Betsy from Pittsburgh, PA
Very happily surprised with the moisture, calming, brightening, smoothing, non-pore-clogging and glowing effect of this face cream. My skin is acne-prone, can be dry and flaky. I was SO disappointed that Origins discontinued two of my most favorite face creams ever: Dr. Weil's Night Health Bedtime Face Cream and Starting Over (Age-erasing Moisturizer with Mimosa). Discontinuing amazing products always leaves me scrambling for adequate replacements and guarantees months of terrible skin. So relieved to have finally found a great replacement!
Not great for sensitive skin!
Sara from Washington, DC
Smells amazing and I like the texture. However, this product is too strong for sensitive skin. I washed my face and applied a good amount and about 30 mins later my face was completely red. I had to wash it off and apply the calming mask which calmed down the irritation. I will be returning the product soon.
Great New Formula!
Dyan from California
I always thought Night-A-Mins was a nice night cream with wonderful vitamins, but that was just it. It was just a nice antioxidant cream, but now with this new formulation it's great. Now it's not just antioxidants your skin receives, but AHAs and sleep essential oils, as well. The cream still feels revitalizing on the skin, but now it exfoliates while you're sleeping too. I have very sensitive skin and I have not had any problems with the AHA being too strong. It's a gentle exfoliant. I have combo skin, so I bought the oil-free, but with winter here I'm thinking of getting the other non-oily Night-A-Mins. Thanks Origins for taking a nice healthy cream and making it even better.
Chrissy B. from Massachusetts
I noticed my foundation was starting to look dry and cakey which usually happens in the Winter months when my skin becomes dry. I've pretty much tried every product you can think of that claims to hydrate skin. I noticed my daughter had a hydrating gel on her vanity that I was interested in trying and when I asked her if it really worked she said "If you want something to hydrate your skin, use this" and handed me this product. That night after washing my face, I applied it to my face and neck and went to bed. When I woke up, I walked into the bathroom having forgotten I'd used this the night before, and when I looked in the mirror I was like "Holy cow!" I looked fresh-faced and glowing after only one time using this. My skin wasn't greasy at all which surprised me because I usually wake up with super oily skin. I showered and got ready and my foundation went on soooo much better. After about 3-4 nights my skin was like heaven. I'm obsessed with this stuff!
Will not buy again
Paola from NY
This cream gave me terrible breakouts. After few uses my face started to have readness in certain areas so color of my face was uneven. In my forehead I had some little bumps and also got some acne spots. I don't know what this is made of but if you have sensitive skin be careful.
My new favorite product!
April from wv
I received this amazing product as part of a skin care set at Christmas and I'm so happy with this find! From the very first time I used it I was amazed at how much better my skin looks and feels. I was so impressed that I bought the full size the next day. I also bought a travel size set of Origins products and I've had great results with each one. I love the try-it sets because it's a great way to find new products without buying a full size product first. I am now a daily Origins user and will continue to purchase from the brand.
A new staple in my skin care routine
katie97 from Austin, Tx
Wow!! I was worried this would make my face oily, or cause a breakout, but instead I wake up with moisturized skin!! I have seen a difference in the brightness in my skin ever since using this. Will be repurchasing again and again.
This cream has changed my skin for the better!
Cindy from Pensacola, Fl.
I rarely write reviews for products because when it comes to skin care, there hasn't been many products that have impressed me. But this is something totally different. I have combination skin that is acne prone as well as extremely sensitive and I am allergic to most face products. After using Clinique for two years and just being "ehh" with it's effectiveness, I purchased a sample kit on Black Friday that had this cream, the frothy face wash, the Ginzing moisturizer, and a charcoal mask. I have been using the wash followed by my Clinique toner and finishing with this cream for about two weeks now. My skin looks better than it ever has without prescription meds! I had large dry spots with itchy bumps all over my jaw line that have completely disappeared. My forehead is totally smooth and black heads have probably decreased by 80%. It's so soothing and doesn't leave a greasy feeling. I actually look forward to using this product every night. I will definitely be purchasing again in the future.
SO GOOD :-)
JJ from NY
Biggest discovery since a long time! I use it every night. At first I didn't see an improvement but after a 2 weeks I saw a reel difference :-)
agray520 from Delphi, IN
I love this. If it was just a bit more moisturizing, I'd give it 5 stars. It has been the only night cream to which I haven't reacted badly, and has actually helped clear up my skin. I had areas that were red, irritated, and bumpy - this completely resolved them. It is a bit less moisturizing than I would like, so I have to supplement it with another cream in a couple areas. It's not enough to make me stop using it, though - it's amazing. I tried so many things before this - seriously, so many. I wish I had just started with this. So happy.
The original was better
KV from Los Angeles
Sooooo I am not a big product person but several years ago I bought this, was totally smitten and it was the first product I became really loyal to and bought over and over again. Then I strayed with a couple subscription boxes that gave me all the moisturiser I needed for awhile and when i came back to this I was shocked it had such a low rating since it's my favourite night cream of all time... until I received the new one and sure enough—— it's a different formula now! Weaker scent which used to be soooo amazing, doesn't seem to soak in as well. Super disappointed that my golden age of moisturiser is over and now I'll be back to wandering looking for something I really loved like this old friend.
Why did you get rid of the AHA free version?
S from Tucson, AZ
The version of this without the AHAs has been my combo very sensitive skin's savior for years. So very sad I was duped into buying this latest version. Person in shop did not clarify that the formulation had changed. I tried it for a week even though instead of feeling silky and soothing when I put it on it now leaves a sticky residue on my fingers. Left my face puffy and inflamed. I'm very sorry to see past version of this product go.
BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA
Ro from SF, CA
This new formula is nowhere near as good as the old one. The older product was more hydrating and made my skin brighter. All this new formula does is give me acne without moisturizing at all. So dissapointed.
Works for me
HR from California
I've used the old and new formula and I found that after an initial, but mild, break out, this product worked wonders for my skin. I guess I expected to have "things" come up as it says it's a resurfacing cream. I only apply it at night, but have seen great results in regards to tighter pores and more vibrant skin. My husband even uses it! I have used the cream as well, and prefer the feel of the oil-free.
Not for Me
tike96 from Houston, TX
I was looking for a moisturizing night cream and thought I would try this since it used to be highly acclaimed, but unfortunately the negative reviews are accurate. At first I loved this product. The texture is nice and lightweight and it absorbs into the skin pretty well, however, after a few months of use, I realized that it left me pretty dry and it doesn't really help with the things that it is advertised to do. I have always been very acne prone and was dealing with some breakouts during use of this product, however, after I stopped, so did the acne. This product isn't good and it broke me out, plus it is pricey. Not worth it at all.
