Most Helpful Positive Review Perfect for my 2c/3a Super Fine hair! :)
I have been following the Curly Girl Method (no SLS's, etc.) for about 5 months now, and have been searching for my perfect Product Routine. i started with DevaCurl and while my hair looked better than ever before, i still needed more Hydration and Definition. Tried 2 other product lines and finally found CurlSmith, LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!
This gift box was great price and i also bought the Curl-Oil Conditioner which i 1/2 rinse out with cold water before i apply the Styling Souffle. My hair looks amazing!
Things I Love (Souffle): Souffle air-dries into a slight cast for definition. Once you "Scrunch the Crunch" out, my curls are left Soft & Bouncy. I have not noticed any residue on my hair (just the opposite, in fact!), but i make sure to add the Souffle when my hair is still dripping wet with water.
Things I Love (Co-Wash): i do feel like this gets my fine hair clean enough. I work in a kitchen which is full of vaporized grease & meat oils flying around, so my hair gets pretty gross. I absolutely feels like this does a great job without drying my hair out at all. I will probably still use a super clarifying shampoo once a month or so though just cause i'm paranoid of having hair that smells like burgers. :0
Things I Love (Curl Enhancer): This is pretty much a leave in conditioner. I find it works great on my 2nd or 3rd day hair after i wake up, i mist my hair with this and a little water to "Re-activate" my curls and tame the frizz. Doesn't weigh my curls down, but i have added too much the first day i used it and the back of my neck felt like i poured a ton of lotion on it. Now i just cut it with a bit of water & it works perfectly.
OVERALL: absolutely in love!!!

My usual routine is wash, condition, leave in, seal and style. These products proved that cutting corners is not the way to go. I have type 4 hair (a mixture but mostly 4c). I was initally shocked by the lack of lather with the co-wash but upon re-reading the bottle, realized it was "foamless." You're supposed to put it in, massage then wash out after 3 min. I followed the directions and finger detangled the larger knots. I then combed throw and to my surprise, the slip was actually pretty good. Still, my hair didn't feel clean. I even spread my hair to have it go in full scalp.
I then put in the leave in/curl reactivator. I did slightly start to recurl my hair after my comb detangling left my hair straight. It also worked as a good detangler.
Lastly, I flat twisted my hair using the souffle. It caused my hair to shine but my hair also started to fray as it got closer to the tips. I bonnet dried and unraveled my hair this morning.
While my hair certainly is curly and looks presentable, it's also dry, frizzy and has what looks like some yellowy build up. Again, my hair doesn't feel clean (feels grimy and sticky) and the souffle doesn't hold so I will have to wash and style again.
I will try again with a combination of other products but for now, in my opinion, even with the discount I received, it's not worth the money . . . don't believe the hype.

First off I love curlsmith it's because of this brand I actually started enjoying my curly hair journey. I had purchased a different curl kit from them a couple months ago so I thought I would try out this one as well. Love the cowash love the curl spray....... but the soufle.. man oh man this product based on other reviews and personal experience this specific product is a hit or miss for fellow curly girls. It did not work for me, I tried 5 different ways to use this product and it did not work for me at all. It defined my hair beautifully yes, but my hair was so stiff and the cast was just unbreakable. I also noticed after a couple uses that it dried out my hair, thank goodness I also purchased the detox kit to get all this out of my scalp and hair I've never experienced so much build up before. BUT I would like to add that my sister also purchased the very same kit for her toddler who has kinkier and curlier hair than mine and she absolutely loved it. Left her toddlers hair bounces ultra defined, smoothed and frizz free, i mean not even a single strand was out of place. So just beware it may or may not work for you. Of your considering on purchasing the soufle I would definitely do more research on what type of curls this actually works for. I have type 3 hair, toddler has type 4 hair. I hope this help my fellow curly girls and guys.

Only used twice. Very hydrating. Using on fine natural curl so it weighs down a little bit my hair needs the extra hydration. The smells are a little overwhelming but my hair is tangle free and in better condition after just 2 uses.

I love this product. I always have to use gel, hairspray, and other products for my hair. I only used the 3 products in this kit! No hairspray or gel. When I refreshed I only used the enhancer and the soufflé and each day it keeps looking better. This is amazing to me because due to COVID 19, I have not had a haircut Or a trim in 5 months!!!

I've used Deva Curl and that just dried my hair. was rotating through Redken, Aveda and looking for something that didn't leave my hair frizzy and straight the second day. THIS IS IT!! Curls are defined and stay for 3 days with just a touch up of water and curl activator spray. Less tangles. This is my new go to and will continue to buy and will try the other products also. Just get it!!

As I'm starting the to incorporate the Curly Girl method steps I came across Curlsmith reviews on YouTube and how good their products are. Well I'm a believer. The Curl Quenching Conditioning Wash is amazing and their Moisture Memory Reactivator is perfect for next day touch ups. Best purchase I've ever made for hair care and products! 😁
The best thing that has ever happened to my curls

I was very skeptical when I first saw these in store, but I am now on my second bottle of the cleansing conditioner. The difference I have seen in my hair is incredible, and now that I am using the whole system I have my healthy curls back. Before I bought this product I was considering cutting my hair back down to a pixie, just to give it a break and let it grow back, now I don't need to. I don't heat style my hair, but I do dye it about every 4-6 weeks, and prior to this had been using a shampoo bar for about two years, and my hair was so dry.
I love it!
Wavybabe from USA
I love these products on my fine 2b hair! They're not too heavy and leave my hair feeling super moisturized. I use a clarifying shampoo ever week and a half to de gunk my scalp, because I do feel build up with the conditioner if used exclusively. I love the smell, but if you are sensitive to scents beware it's very strong in all of their products. Definitely recommend!
You won't regret, your hair will thank you!

This is the first time I tried anything other than the brand I've been using for many, many years. This was a great way to get introduced to Curlsmith and now... I'm obsessed! I use the co-wash and sometimes I have to use other conditioner after because it doesn't always give my hair the best slip. After I wash, I spray on the reactivator and comb my hair. The soufflé is my FAVORITE! I recommend using on suuuuper wet hair - that's when I get the best results! It doesn't have super strong hold so you may want to finish with a gel, but try it with and without to see what works for you! (For reference - 3a, high porosity and medium density hair)
Fragrance Smell is Way Too Strong
Tina from San Diego, CA
Cowash: Good slip, but the fragrance smell was so bad! It gave me a headache. Not worth it.
Refresh Spray: Didn't do much. Same horrible fragrance. Very sticky and annoying.
Souffle: I used a good amount, and didn't get much hold. Definitely not worth the money. And same horrible fragrance.
Love This Line
Gloria from Danville, Ca
I'm in my 60s with gray, fine, low density, 2c/3a curls. Throughout my life I have mostly straightened my hair with my blow dryer and hair products. I decided about 1 1/2 years ago to let my hair go curly. It's been a journey...trying to find the right products that did not weigh down my hair. I finally found it! Curlsmith has been wonderful. The hair wash washes and detangles my hair; the moisture reactivator is like a leave in conditioner that does not weigh down my hair and reactivates my curls on the 2nd & 3rd day. I do add a little bit of water with it when using on the 2nd/3rd day to dilute it a little. The souffle locks my curls in before diffusing. Only thing with the souffle is that it says to use about a dime size per section. Since I have low density hair I use, maybe, a little over a dime size for my entire head of hair and then I do scrunch my hair with my microfiber towel before diffusing. I find that this keeps my hair from looking "crispy" once it's dried. After my hair has dried, I fluff it out and scrunch out the crunch. Curls look great.
Will return ASAP

I did not like product at all! My hair is wavy. Instead of enhancing curl it made it flat and straight
Milly from Georgia
By the way I did not leave three stars on this product I left one, I don't know how my first rating of this product some how got three stars when I submitted it. I wanted to leave none this product is so bad!
The worst products I have ever used!
Milly from Georgia
These products were so bad I can't even believe the good reviews. As soon as I put the co wash in my hair it felt really weird but I thought it's probably because it's natural, big mistake! I rinsed it out and I had a tangled frizzy mess. I continue on to use the leave in which did nothing and the souffle is still in my hair even after washing it all out with other products I had around. I have never experienced this before and am scared to try any more new products because alot of my hair fell out trying to comb it. Horrible!!
Love, love, love
Caligirl from Texas
I love products that do what they say they do and these products deliver!!!! Yes they are a bit pricy but the results speak for themselves. It smells divine. I have never washed my hair and not used a conditioner the moisturizing co-wash is fabulous (no conditioning required) and the styling soufflé is great yes it does make your hair crunchy but that is what is known as a cast and once you break that cast you are left with really well defined curls that last for days until your next wash! I'm in love with this product line!
Holy grail, even on fine curls!!!
Hauʻoli from Honolulu
Absolutely love it, new holy grail hair products!! Former Devacurl user here, I have been using them for years and with the recent controversy I finally realized what they were doing to my hair (which had become almost straight, it was so damaged). Cue Curlsmith: within ONE use, my old curl patterns are back and my hair has shrunk up about three or four inches. By the second use my hair feels absolutely soft and beautiful. Trust me, co-washes are normally too much on my fine hair and leave it weird, wavy, stringy, and dark (because Iʻm blonde), but this feels like the Sisterhood-of-The-Traveling-Pants in a co-wash in the way that it works for me but also for girls with thicker hair or a tighter curl pattern. If you donʻt want to start your curl journey all over again, this one is for you...years of progress in a night, and Iʻm back to loving my hair.
Love the curls. Thinning hair

I love what these products do for my hair. Especially the curling Soufflé but I see a noticeable difference in the thickness of my hair. I would continue only with the soufflé.

I love the way it makes my hair look. It is literally the best curly hair system I have ever tried and I have tried them all. Does dry crunchy if you don't scrunch it enough.
I would buy this again

I used the curlsmith line for the 1st time this morning & I'm in love! My hair has never looked so healthy & shiny! It's so soft but not frizzy at all. I've been using Devacurl but my hair started looking awful after a few years of using it. I decided to try the curlsmith kit & I'm so glad I did! I also bought the oil in conditioner & love it also! My hair found its curl again & it looks & feels so healthy, will definitely confine to use it.
Love these products!!!

Have been using Deva Curl for over 3 years. My hair was losing it's natural curls and frizzy. I was told over and over use more deep conditioners. 2 uses of Curlsmith and my hair looks fantastic! Almost lIke a miracle!!!

Does the job!

I first tied Devacurl after hearing great reviews about that product. I hated how it worked in my hair. It left my hair dry and frizzy. So I returned to ulta and purchased the curlsmith gift box. I did as the directions said and may I say I LOVE the results. My hair looked so shiny and soft like I just came from the hair salon. I've gotten so many compliments. I did use regular shampoo first then the co wash because I felt like my hair needed a good wash. The co wash works really well. The reactivating spray and the souffle were both amazing. I diffused my hair and the next morning my curls were still amazing. I'm on day 3 and my hair is still soft and curly. I may use the reactivating spray today but all in all I liked the product. It is pretty expensive but I feel like a little will go a long way with this product.

I have thick, coarse, naturally wavy hair. Usually I wash, condition, mousse, and air dry. I have used many curly hair products over the years, and this is by far one of the worst I have tried. My hair looks awful. Rather than getting big thick bouncy curls like I wanted, I ended flat stringy crunchy looking hair. There is almost no definition to my curls, and they ended up greasy looking and really thin. Given the price of this stuff, I was expecting much better results. Most drugstore brand curly hair brands give better results than this.
Not for Type 4 hair
Productjunkie from NC
Washed my hair with shampoo used the moisturizing leave in and the gel, my hair was dry and crunchy with white product residue throughout my hair. I had to immediately rewash with different products. Throwing it away.
Worst Curly Hair Products Ever
Scp from New Jersey
I read the reviews and thought, finally, this will be it. I have used so many curly products over the years. This is by far the worst. Made my hair look greasy and wet. Curls just hung and were not full and bouncy. A total waste of money.
I'm in love

My hair looks amazing, I got lots of compliments. I'll buy this product again and again
