Most Helpful Positive Review Surprisingly Awesome
This color is surprisingly awesome. I'm a dark skinned African American woman and didn't know how this color was going to turn out. Luckily I decided to give it a try. It makes my lips smooth, soft, and moisturized. The color isn't some bold strong blue. It comes out as a blueberry type color and last for a long time. Normally the next day my lips are stained a plum color. This lipstick looks really good underneath my lipsticks and glosses. This has become one of my new favorites.
Most Helpful Critical Review Does not change color - Not
I purchased this "color adapting" alledged "lipSTICK" because of the reviews. Unforunately this product does not deliver. It does NOT turn to a "berry" or plum-ish color. I even waited 10 minutes to take picture (attached) to see if color would change/adapt to my skin, which it did not. In attached pic, what you see is a really good chapstick; not lipstick texture. Good for chapped lips only.

Exactly what I needed
Kristenacious from Cleveland, OH
This is not a full coverage lipstick. I didn't expect it to be. Which is exactly what I wanted. I have many allergies and wearing lipstick is a challenge for me. This was perfect. It turns a beautiful and flattering shade of berry pink/violet on me. And since it's sheer, I don't have to worry about caking or it settling into lines/imperfections/dryness that I am constantly battling due to food and product allergies.
Unfortunately, it didn't work

This lipstick's claim-to-fame is the color-changing formula that will be your perfect match. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. It did change from blue to pale pale lilac, but the shade was so pale it was barely detectable. I get more color from a tinted chapstick. The only positive was I found it was more moisturizing than other lipsticks.

I usually love all that is lipstick queen and have many of their lipsticks but this one just didn't work. The smooth buttery consistency was there, but the only color I got was a very unflattering sheer blue. It didn't transform for me at all like the other lipstick queen transformers. I got it on sale and ended up tossing it. Maybe it was old?
Not worth it
Rander from Tulsa, on
I gave two stars because it is moisturizing. I have tried this alone and on top of several lipsticks. There is absolutely no change.
Love this lipstick!

This is my first purchase from lipstick queen and I love the buildable color. I used to use the Dior lip glow and this product is very similar but with different shades for all skin tones. My lips aren't very pink so I love that this shade has a plum tint to it making it a very subtle plum neutral for everyday wear.

the preview color is unrealistic.. this applies like a clear gloss. I tried using on a half lip to compare and there's no real noticable change unfortunately. I did give it 15 minutes to develop, and nothing. very disappointed.

Hello Sailor provides a lovely cool color that is flattering to my cool skin tone. This is now a must have for me.
My least favorite of the 4 PH changing LQ lipsticks
youngNP from MPLS, MN
This translates into a deep dark mauve berry shade that comes off a little gothic on me. I am fair skinned, green eyes and w/yellow undertone and I don't care for this. This was my least favorite out of the 4 LQ changing colors. I gave it 2 stars because I think its neat and it does actually change, just not to the color I want it to. This color would appear to work better on dark toned skin.

I love how this feels and the look. It's such a subtle shade, it's more of a chapstick. Just what I was hoping for!
I think you need more color in your lips to start with.

This did not work on me. There was hardly any color at all. I will be returning it once the store reopens.

little to no color.

its pretty hydrating and leaves a nice berry sheen, it came broken though. i feel like this would be really cute but im not sure if it was soft which led to breakage because of its color changing formula or because of shipping. also do not know if itll be as long lasting as some of Lipstick Queen's other products.

Was very excited to try this brand for the first time, so I purchased Hello Sailor and Frog Prince. I saw the berry color this was to turn out to be and I couldn't wait to try it once it arrived. Once I did it looked like I put on my Blistex, no visible difference in the color of my lips. I only saw the color on the towel I used to wipe it off. Won't try this brand again.
I love this product, even makes my teeth look whiter

I use this lipstick everyday. keeps my lips very soft. I even bought one tube for my daughter-in-law. She loves it too.
Feels like a balm, doesn't settle in fine lines.
Shrimp Heaven Now from Idaho
I almost never wear lipstick. Most brands settle in the fine lines of my lips and make them look dry, even though I moisturize my lips daily and exfoliate at least 1-2 times per week. I tend to stick to moisturizing lip balms, and use color-changing ones instead of tinted if I want color because those don't settle into fine lines for me. This lipstick acts just like a color-changing balm on me (it's so lovely and smooth and moisturizing!), and the color is perfect! I've got very cool pale skin and most color-changing balms turn bright fuchsia on me. This turns my lips to a lovely, cool-tinted purple that goes beautifully with my skin. It can be layered for subtle or more intense color, too! I have the color Frog Prince as well, but Hello Sailor is superior in my opinion, at least for my cool skin tone.

I was super into the gimmick. It gives a nice little tint to my lips which I liked but it's more like a tinted balm with a very sheer tint. I was expecting more of a lipstick. If it was a balm it would be nice but it's a balm with the down sides of a lipstick, my lips aren't left moisturized after and it doesn't last very long. For the price I expect so much more. I give it one star for the cute balm tint it gives. That's it.
I wanted to like it...

Too expensive for a lip balm. It gave me no color on the lips
your lips but better

I have a berry undertone to my lips and this is my lip glorifier of life! it is nourishing upon application and within a few minutes it helps bring out even more of a berry tone to my lips and yes, my teeth look a touch whiter, too. perhaps it is the moisturizing effect but they feel plumper, too. it is perfect for a no lipstick, lip colour look. it looks totally undetectable.
Wanted to love it 😢

I use the Lipstick Queen "Frog Prince" everyday. It adds a rosy pink hue to lips, feels and moisturizes like chapstick. What I wear with my quick no makeup look. The Hello Sailor was supposed to be a berry toned version so I ordered for Fall. Unfortunately, it gave little to no color to my lips at all.

Glorified lip balm
MakeupLover405 from Oklahoma City, OK
It feels great on the lips but the color is extremely sheer. Honestly, it looks like I just put some Nivea lip balm on. That's what I put on my lips every night and this lipstick doesn't look much different. It does have a berry tint but for this price, I think I'd rather try out one of the Nivea tinted balms. The packaging is super nice and it really does feel nice on the lips. I just don't think it's worth the price.

This is I very unusual color. It looks purple ish blue on me.. It is a wearable color and looks nice. It feels nice when you put it on. It doesn't last long, I'm going to try using lip balm before it. It's a fun color and worth the price.
Has bad ingredient BHT that is not listed on ingredient list

Has BHT which is an irritant and allergenic.I returned this right away. This doesnt show in the ingredients and I am not eating that toxic junk Not to mention that it is classified as toxic or harmful on ewg.

I received The Frog Prince as a present and loved it and so decided to give other Lipstick Queen products a try. I like the color...it's a med-light pink leaning toward purple. It's slight, but there's definitely a purple hue to it.
