Most Helpful Positive Review Love it! And I sweat way too much I was not expecting much from this product as I sweat a ton for some reason (possibly due to a fast metabolism), even without much physical activity. I also live in a hot climate and my house is usually pretty warm which probably does not help. That said, I think I can say this product out-performs my antiperspirant deodorants (I usually use Dove). I only have to reapply maybe once if at all, and even then, there isn't much sweat odor that I am covering up. With my antiperspirant deodorants, I felt as though I had to apply a couple of times throughout the day to re-mask odor.
And the most important part for me: I'm SO glad I can give up the harmful aluminium and other chemicals as I would feel awful every day knowing I was putting so much on my body. Now that I think about it, maybe it was all those chemicals from regular antiperspirant deodorants causing such a terrible odor after a few hours. Never going back!
Most Helpful Critical Review Nope. I wanted to love this so much. I loved the vanilla scent initially, but when I put it on, it starts to morph after an hour or two and the resulting scent makes me feel sick. At first, I thought it was my skin "detoxing" from the deodorants I've used for years that aren't natural, but after three weeks, it had only gotten faster in developing and stronger when it did. When the rash appeared, I didn't at first notice, thinking it was just razor burn. But then I didn't shave one day before applying it, and I DEFINITELY noticed it then. Someone before says to give it some time for your skin to become used to it, so I did, but after three weeks, I'm done waiting and am going back to my "chemical-laden" deodorant that DOESN'T HURT ME. Would not recommend this product for those with sensitive skin.

This is my second time buying this product. Lasts all day and I love the smell!
Smells good. Doesn't help with sweat 3

This product smells super super good but does not work as an antiperspirant. I only use this in conjunction with an antiperspirant for the smell
No more red bumps! 5
Sweet dreams from Florida
TMI: For years I had issues with every deodorant and antiperspirant, I tried so many and NOTHING didn't give me horrible red painful bumps. So for about 3 years I just stopped using deodorant, even wiping my pits with alcohol gave me bumps. I don't know what made me pick this up, it just smells so good, so I gave it a go, starting in just one armpit. At this point I hadn't had bumps for years because all I did was shave and wash, nothing else. I've been using this for a year and have not had one single bump or any irritation at all. I even used my boyfriend's deodorant under one arm, to see if maybe my body had changed but NOPE. His gave me bumps after one use, you could see where I had swiped it on, just a trail of bumps. Needless to say, I'm a lifetime customer. You may need to go without anything for a while, to detox, just suck it up and shower and don't raise your hand for awhile. It's so worth the trouble.

This is my first natural deodarant since transitioning from antiperspirant. The switch was easy. I've been using this along with a charcoal mask for 4 weeks now and have not experienced any irritation or staining. The first two weeks I had to use it multiple times a day but now I only apply it in the mornings and I'm good throughout the day. I have no odor and I seem to be sweating slightly less as well. The scent is lovely. The only issue is that I have to massage it into my armpits after application but that's a small thing.

Found Lavanilla deodorant- Sport luxe (non-) scent years ago at Ulta. Loved it from the beginning. No weird transition to a natural deodorant, only effective odor control. And over time, less and less odor and less sweat, too. Wow, was I happy to find the Vanilla scent. Barely noticeable at first, no smell during the day. One difference, the vanilla scent is less dry on application than the Sport. Great product: I have purchased Lavanilla deodorant and given it to friends concerned about chemicals in the armpit.

Works very well for me and does not cause irritation like many other natural deodorants I have tried.
Used 6+months won't go back to regular 5

I had never tried a natural deodorant before. I used this one just on a whim since I've been working from home. The transition was not perfect. You will notice a smell during the first few weeks. So it's good to switch to this during this quarantine time. I got irritated a couple of times, but from my research this is likely when looking to switch to natural deodorants. I didn't want to have to use a different product and have another transition, so I stuckwith it. Used hydrocortisone cream if I get tender red spots(almost like a sunburn) They subsided within a day or two. And did a pitt detox (clay and apple cider vinegar) a minimum 1x a week for the first month or so. Make sure you don't apply deodorant on after shaving. If you typically shave in the am use the night before. The reactions I had were from shaving then applying and also from using multiple times a day. I had previously been using a prescription strength sweat protecting deodorant so it was an adjustment to get wet occasionally. It's honestly it's been so worth it. I do get a little moist but haven't sweat through any shirt or anything like that. It also worked well when I was moving and sweating like crazy. I would highly recommend this. Research detoxing and don't give up if you get irritated once. I'm so glad I stuck it out. I only got irritated twice and that was within the first month and a half. I would say if after 60 days you are still getting sore then try something else. Another thing I would add was the cost of this was several dollars higher that my old kind. It I've had the same stick since February and if I had been using my old kind I would have had to buy more at least once or twice since then. So financially it's actually cheaper. Haven't had any putt issues since March and highly recommend going aluminum free (and baking soda and coconut oil too if you can find some without. They clog pores)
One of the first without aluminum 4

This is a good deodorant. Please remember that once you switch, you MUST continue to remain an aluminum-free deodorant user. One slip even will make your glands start to produce more "fragrant" sweat again. I have used aluminum-free for decades, and while the selection has gotten better, most people do have a hard transition phase. They do make a mask and wipes for that now. I try to have unscented or ones that have a note that is in my perfume.
It didn't work for me. 1
Gigi from Allentown
The smell of vanilla in this deodorant is ok. Only last less than an hour. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me.
Have been using this for a year and I love it 5
Cat from New Hampshire
The only deodorant that doesn't irritate my underarms. After the adjustment period (stopping your use of typical antiperspirants) it will last 8 hours. I wish the sent was fresher and less musky but maybe that's just because I've been using it for so long. All the scents work just as well but the sport version irritates me after two or three days of continued use. But that one does work a little bit stronger.
Natural..and effective! 5

Not sure why there are some bad reviews. I've been using Lavanila deodorants for over a year now and I wish I knew about them sooner. They actually work all day and I live in Florida! Lol.
Really Wanted to Love This 2
Sierra from Ohio
I've been on a natural deodorant hunt for the past year and I really wanted to like this one. It smells great but it doesn't last and I'm pretty sure it irritated my underarms. Really wished it had worked out!
Works great after detoxing first! 4
FloridaGirl from Miami
I took advantage of this quarantine to detox my armpits by not wearing deodorant AT ALL while staying safe at home/during my outdoor runs (I would swipe my pits with Thayer's Witch Hazel a few times a day, which made me feel fresh and kept smell controlled).
The first week without ANY kind of deodorant your pits will get sweaty and you'll stink twice as bad, BUT it's the "chemicals" leaving your body, so it's worth it... I did notice after 1 week my scent wasn't as funky, it became subtle and herbal and my fam members couldn't smell me anymore.
Anyway, after 1 month of detox, I started wearing Lavanila.... and it works, I don't stink anymore and I know its bc I did the proper detox (not just deodorant-switching from one day to the next --- which is what I think people experience the "it doesn't work"). Of course it doesn't, bc just switching deos still make your pits purge anyway (since the natural deodorant doesn't plug'em), making you think it's the new natural deodorant doing that, when it's really not. Makes sense?
Give it a try! I have the Pure Vanilla scent, and cant wait to try the rest.
My FAVORITE cruelty free deodorant 5
Beq from Massachusetts
Well worth the cash. I'm a sweaty gal and this is the only cruelty free, natural deodorant that has ever worked for me. I've spent a ton of money on other deodorants and have never found one that works half as well as this one. Holds up all day, even during a workout and smells great!!! Couldn't recommend more !

I have been using this product for years. I don't have problems of smelly underarms, but it works for me. Just try it and see if it works for you!
scent gives me migraines! 3
beachmom9 from dmv
I bought the vanilla lemon one before, guess they stopped carrying it at Ulta. Was hoping this would be an equal replacement but the smell is too chemical for me and gives me horrible migraines!!! Be weary if you are sensitive to scents. (This is an artificial fragrance, def not natural vanilla which would smell awesome.)
The Best 5
My Nana from Destin FL
I've used this brand for several years now. I've tried others along the way but none work as well as this. It also smells amazing and can be used as a fragrance (though it would take a lot). There are no questionable ingredients in this.
Not bad 3
Srh from NC
FYI - if you are switching from an anti perspirant to a natural deodorant without aluminum, know that your armpits will have a detox period and you'll smell like a horrible onion for about a week or two. It depends on how long your body takes to detox. I didn't know that when I started using this and thought it was making me smell bad. I've been using for a month now and it actually works pretty well. Not crazy about the smell and I do need to reapply after about 6 hours, so it could be better but it's effective.
DONT USE!!! HUGE RED RASH 1
Riley from oklahoma
Loved the initial smell but after a few uses I noticed I had developed a huge red rash under my armpit. I have stopped using it for about 4 days now and the rash is still there. Very itchy and raised. Do not use.
Try another brand. 1
Jeni from Atlanta
I had used this product previously, but switched back to Secret after a couple of days. I decided to try it one more time because I wanted to use natural deodorants. I was using this in conjunction with the brand's detox mask hoping that this would help with the deodorant's efficacy but unfortunately it didn't. I have to constantly reapply throughout the day and to top it off, I had a huge red rash on the area. I'm definitely gonna return this and try the Kopari brand.
I love this deodorant! 5
Cali girl 2323 from Modesto, CA
I love the smell and how it's a healthy alternative to regular products. Just a reminder this product is a DEODORANT and not an ANTIPERSPIRANT. You will still feel a little wet under the arms but it's healthier to let your body detox through sweat than to stop it. I find that the deodorant does a good job keeping me fresh smelling all day. I also love how it has improved the look of my underarms (like Dove).
Loved it at first but.... 1
Ang from Chicago
At first i thought this was the best product ever and that it was a product I recommended everyone! Until I realized there was a red rash on my armpit which i thought was a razor burn but after reading these reviews I know it's a rash. After 2-3 weeks of using it i have to keep consistently applying it or else i'll smell after 2 hours. Sad i'll have to go search for a new deodorant. BEWARE.
New Favorite Natural Deodorant 5
Meagan from Syracuse
I purchased this last week and I've been using it ever since! I love the smell and the texture. I've tried several natural deodorants since making the switch from antiperspirants and this is by far my favorite!
For those of you having problems with this product, make sure your applying it to dry armpits. If there's any moisture natural deodorants will trap it in, causing irritation. Also, apply it slowly and give it a few seconds to melt on your skin and don't put as much as you would with an antiperspirant. Applying it quickly and too much can also put you at risk for irritation or an infection.
I liked it until... 3

It gave me a bright red rash. It took awhile for the rash to appear, so I'm still within the window to return this. Back on the hunt for a better deodorant
I Love This Deodorant! 5
Lily04 from NY
I love this Deodorant! I think sometimes people get this confused with an Antiperspirant. An Antiperspirant pretty much blocks sweat glands. So with that being said, if you are a person who sweats a lot, this might not be something that works as well for you. But it is such a great product, and it works really well for me. I am sooo glad I stumbled on this and have repurchased this several times, and will continue to do so.
