I knew going into this the eyeshadow palette wasn't going to be amazing. I had seen swatches and reviews on YouTube showing the two dark matte shades as very sheer and dry; and they were. What I did was I carefully scraped off the top layer of shadow and that helped the red shade but no so much the purple. However, when I did my eye makeup, I was very surprised of how great the purple shade performed on the eyes. I used Milani's eyeshadow primer and it really helped the purple matte show up. I am light skinned so I don't think the shadow would have showed up as well on someone with darker skin though. The other 4 shades, especially the shimmers, performed amazingly; no problems at all. The eyeliner is ADORABLE and as someone who never wears or does eyeliner, the quill pen was easy to control. The lip balm does smell like crayons but, that doesn't bother me. It was much more pigmented than expected and the red isn't super bright. But the true star is the highlighter. The highlighting beads are super intense and show up as a wet pink. I would go very light unless you want to look like a pink disco ball; you do you.
Overall; I'm happy I got this. It's a cute collectors item and I will genuinely use the makeup.
These boxes look beautiful and the packaging is lovely inside and out. They are cardboard with a magnetic closure and the representative house's symbol accompanied with snowflakes and constellations cover the outside. The inside is lined with each house's color.
The eyeshadows are consistent in textures across the four palettes. The mattes are mildy powdery but easy to build and blend. The metallics blend nicely but are a little chunky and can have fallout when applied with a brush. Personally, I feel the color stories are all cohesive with a good mix of matte and metallics.
The lip colors are balmy, non-sticky, semi-sheer with visible color on my naturally mauvey lips, and scentless. As with most balms, they do not have strong staying power.
The highlighters are balls in a plastic jar. They were, in my opinon, a pain to use. The jars are shallow and swirling with a brush will send those little balls flying. A smaller, semi-stiff brush with gentle swiping motions across the balls produced the best results for me. The highlights are not chunky but are noticeably shimmery.
The gel liner packaging is adorable and my favorite in the kits. The "quill" part detaches as a nice quality oval shaped synthetic liner brush. It is thicker than I would prefer though, something I'd rather use to lay down cream shadow than draw liner. Once the "ink pot" lid is untwisted, you get a creamy gel liner, almost too creamy to create a precise line with the attached brush. I would actaully prefer to use them as a cream shadow because they spread easily and dry quickly.
Overall these are very pretty kits that would appeal to Harry Potter lovers. However the products are average in quality, so I think avid HP collectors and makeup dabblers would be most pleased with these. They would also be great for gift giving to your favorite Hogwarts fans.

I love it! The eyeshadow has a good pigment, even though the glitter ones are a little chunky you can still work with it the highlighter it's beautiful, the lip stick it's creamy and it gives you a light tint of color eyeliner has a good pigment definitely will recommend!

I love the highlighter and the eyeshadow palette those I will get the most use out of! I don't wear bright red lipstick that often but it's a great one and easy to use. The eyeliner is not something I wear all the time either but I used it for a makeup look and it worked very well! Overall love these products and the HP theme is awesome!!

The packaging for this gets a 10/10. It's so cute and definitely an HP lovers dream... starting with the palette, the color story is beautiful, and the shimmers are nice but the mattes have VERY little payoff. The highlighter, is a really beautiful pink/silver glimmer, but it is really powdery. The gel liner is gorgeous and has great pigment, but the brush is just not what you'd use with this product. The lip... ew.. this thing smells like a CRAYOLA AND IT IS DISGUSTING!!!! It's such a cute color but that smell is horrid

My mom loves her reds and she just had to have this. I bought it for her and she loved the eyeliner and lip balm. Overall she really likes the whole collection and she likes having some fun Harry Potter makeup of good quality.

I already wrote reviews on all of these kits giving them only 1 star but ulta keeps changing them to 3 stars apparently. these kits are for aesthetics only, the makeup is trash. Powdery, no color payoff and no staying power on what color you can get. Get them just to look pretty on your vanity I suppose.

I bought all of these because I'm a huge harry potter fan however if you want these just know you will be buying for the aesthetics only. the pallet has NO color payoff, the highlighter has light payoff but is mostly just super powdery and dusts off, the eyeliner is only a very thin layer and has no staying power, smudges very badly. the lip crayon is alright but also no wearing power.

the colours and the packaging are beautiful, and the eyeliner, highlighter, and balm are really nice quality. as for the palette, the shimmers and the light matte shade are nice, but the two dark matter shades are a little sheer. I don't mind that for the everyday, but it's definitely something you should know before you buy.
