Most Helpful Positive Review I am OBSESSED with this!!! Turquoise: The first color I had used was the Turquoise Styling Gel. I've never dyed my hair ever because I didn't want to commit to a color nor did I want to risk ruining my curls. I fell in love with the blue in my hair from the beginning. Of course, it did not come out as a bright turquoise since I have very dark hair, but after the second application, it was very vibrant. As someone who doesn't come out of her comfort zone, it was a big deal for me. I got many compliments on the color.
Gold: This is probably my second favorite (Copper is my first!). I've always wondered how I'd look with gold in my hair, but I always figured that it wouldn't go with my complexion. But, after using the Gold Styling Gel, I definitely am looking into going blonde some day. This color came out AMAZING!!!! After diffusing, I kept staring at myself in the mirror because the gold was so bold.
Copper: Now this is my FAVORITE color! Since it's October, I decided to go with copper to try an orange hue in my hair. This color does NOT disappoint at ALL. I was not excited to try this color because I can never imagine myself with orange hair. But now my entire world has changed and this is by far my favorite color in the series.
Rose Gold: I am going to be honest. This is a very pretty color, and it smells amazing, but it was my least favorite. And it's partially my fault. In my head, I had figured that this color would be pink, however, it does come out as rose gold as the packaging says. It came out very nicely on my hair and it worked as the other colors had, I just didn't like this color as much as the other ones.
Ruby: I am currently wearing the Ruby as I recently got it to complete the Color Styling Gel series and it is RED. It's not subtle and I LOVE IT. It shines (especially in the light) and it stands out when I'm with my friends because it's SO red. I would definitely recommend.
I definitely recommend these products, the price is a bit much, but it's worth it!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review Mixed Feelings Rose gold: I tried this in the shower on wet hair. It says to apply to damp or dry hair. My shower was covered in product, but the application was easy enough. While my hair was wet, the color looked dark and wasn't showing up very well so I only did one small section, got out of the shower, dried my hair until is was just damp and continued with a second section. The section that I did wet in the shower actually ended up being more defined and vivid. It clumped and curled my hair better than most products. The damp section came out frizzy, but the color showed up pretty well too. Don't panic if you don't see the color at first. Let your hair dry completely, you should see it show up. Made my hair really shiny too. Make sure you're using something under this product to protect your hair. At least use a leave-in conditioner. I'll probably do a leave-in and moisturizer next time I use this. Maybe even a custard for hold prior to adding the color. Overall I'd try this again in the shower to get the best definition and color saturation. Smells like melon but not too sweet or strong which I loved. My hair felt dry, but not crunchy, and the color didn't transfer once dried completely. The item is pretty pricey for 3 ounces but it's the only product of its kind on the market right now so unless you want to use a stinky wax or something more permanent and damaging you'll have to make the investment. I'd recommend it and I'll probably try it again and maybe other colors too.

I wanted to like this so badly. Turquoise is my favorite color and it's a beautiful shade; unfortunately, it dried my hair out terribly and made it extremely stringy and knotted. I threw the bottle away. If you have curls that clump well and have a good leave-in conditioner, then go for it; otherwise, stay away!

Let me start by saying that you absolutely have to use a leave-in conditioner before applying. If you do not, you will be sorry. I took that advice, overly saturated the clump I was coloring and still had a bit of straw like texture. I would not like to even imagine what skipping the leave-in would have done to my hair.
I bought the turquoise and out of the tube, the color is gorgeous. Stayed looking dark enough on my blond hair while it was wet, but when it was dry and I broke the cast, it was about 3 shades lighter. It will rub off as it is a coating, not a true dye but I didn't have any issues with it flaking off, just a fine powdery residue when I took a brush to it. Washes out nicely, even after being left on for 3 days.
While I plan on having fun with the tube I purchased, it remains to be seen if I'll try the other colors or even another tube of the turquoise. The color pop was what I really went for and in the end, it wasn't up to what I was looking for.
Lots of glitter transfer 3

I have medium brown hair. The rose gold color showed up slightly (better in natural light) but mostly just made my hair glittery. And the glitter transfers EVERYWHERE. I would maybe use this for something like an outdoor concert but would not wear this routinely.
I really wanted to like it.... 1

I have been wanting to try Curl Smith's hair make-up for months and months. I finally got a bottle of the turquoise and I am utterly disappointed. My natural hair is silver around my face and crown, the rest is dark brown. I really only expected the color to show well on my lighter hair which is what happened. But it looks dull and dingy - not at all like the beautiful shiny hair in the adds.
My hair is below my shoulders and it took most of the bottle to get it all coated.
Woooooweeee! 5

I've heard so many great things about this line, so I finally had to try it. I tried the red one first and loved it....so I had to go get the turquoise one...loved it even more!

I had previously dyed teal hair that had faded. thought this would be a great way to touch it up a bit without the hassle of dyeing. I used gobs of it, and it made almost no difference in the faded teal spots and nowhere in the brown areas of my hair. Very disappointing. Didn't stain anything but I did have like glitter shedding.
Not that Great 3

I don't completely dislike the product.. It did give me a temporary color boost..but the transfer was a bit much.. It's all over my car seat LOL black shirts and coats.. But it's moreso glitter.. So it's not terrible I'll go back and wash it out..I kept it in my hair a few days, and washed it out.. Took several washes and still have glitter coming off LOL
Always Getting Compliments...😊 5

My hair is a thick 4a/b combo. With a pair of gloves, my mostly gray hair becomes vibrant, shiny, and oh so defined!! Although the price seems a bit much, a little goes a loooong way. I usually apply it from tips to halfway up; only put it on edges in front. Make sure to damp hair and add your go-to leave-in (and go-to styler, if you need more definition) I get compliments EACH AND EVERY TIME I wear it!! Will DEF buy this again!!!
I would not buy this again 3

I really wanted to love this product, but its extremely messy and gets everywhere. I bought the gold first, it was a little messy but not too bad clean up wise, it did leave gold flakes everywhere even when completely dry. I liked how it turned out and wanted to try the red and rose gold mix after seeing other's pictures. The application was easy but, after your hair feels dry, after trying to scrunch the crunch out it still felt crunchy. The product was all over my bathroom. The color did not come out how i was hoping. I do not recommend getting this unless you want to spend 2+ hours cleaning after you do the whole applying and drying your hair.
Love it 5

I have brown hair and used copper and the color was perfect. The hold was great also, my curls held up for 2 days without doing anything else to my hair. Easy to was hoff and didn't transfer to my clothes.
Extremely dissapointing 1

I have always wanted to get my hair dyed but am worried about damaging my hair! I decided to try this on an impulse purchase. I got the rose gold shade! I glazed it on my very wet hair just like mane by mel said too. ( for those who don't know who that is she is a YouTube channel) I found the color to be messy, transfers. And it didn't look vibrant on my hair at all! It made my hair shiny but sorta ashy looking! I rinsed it out.
Will be returning

I have brown hair, and the blue did show up on my hair. I would not purchase again because it came off kind of dusty throughout the day, and my hair was EXTREMELY brittle.
Love it 5

It doesn't have to be put on soaking wet hair. I've used it on damp and dry hair and the color is still the same. This is my second purchase just another color
Not for me 2

I did not enjoy this product. I have 4a hair and used a thick leave in as well has a curl defining cream and the in shower gel from the Curlsmith line. But the color made my curls look dry and ashy. It just did not work well on my hair.

If you want your hair to be dry and damaged, then buy this 1

I was super excited to try this stuff but was incredibly disappointed. Not only does the color BARELY show, its hard to apply and gets everywhere. It does at least rinse off of stuff easily but it continues to transfer off in the form of dust to your hands and clothes all day, but it doesn't appear to "stain" anything. This also dried my hair out SO badly, even with using a leave in conditioner. So my hair looked super unhealthy and barely any coloring could be seen. It also has a horrible texture. If you are using this as a gel, then it would probably do pretty well as far as hold...but if you are just trying to get some color in your hair...this definitely isn't the product to use. It makes your hair super stiff and dry and just...horrible...I tried this a few times to make sure I wasn't just doing the process wrong, and I had the same results each time. It also gave me a rash on my back where my hair hit my back while I was applying it. Definitely will never use this product again...its awful.
Overall good 4

Pro: color, causes texture to pop, doesn't leave hair stringy
Con: transfer a bit despite claims

I bought 3 colors but have only used the copper thus far. The pay off is amazing. I'm so impressed. It does leave hair a bit crunchy but what do you expect? You're using temporary hair color. I also have very dark hair so I was half expecting it to not show up. Also I didn't apply any in my roots because I didn't want to risk anything. I wouldn't advise you to mix colors. Will update once I've used the rest of the colors.
