Most Helpful Positive Review Feria Smokey Pastels !! LOVE IT!!! Great product--I used the Smokey Blue color, but was not sure it would take because of the notice on the box which suggested that the product not be used on grey hair. My hair is fine, thin, and is a very light grey shade--almost white. I thought I would give it a try, and my hair came out looking just like the photo on the box! The reason for the color "taking" so successfully given my natural grey color is likely due to how fine my hair is. The color would likely not work on darker grey, or coarse grey hair.
I keep the color maintained by using shampoo/conditioner for platinum / grey hair. Use it every 3 weeks after I get my hair cut (I wear it in a short, spiky cut, thus the frequent hair cuts.
I would recommend this product to anyone with very light hair who wants to experiment with pastel shades. Can't beat the price for such great results!
Most Helpful Critical Review Took a long time to fix I previously lightened my hair prior to using this so that I wouldn't have to orange. My hair was a light blonde prior to using this. It turned my hair a red/orange and yellow color. I had to buy a wella toner and use a toning conditioner to correct. It took two times of toning to fix it. Eventually it worked out. I would precooked getting a bleach kit and toner instead of this.

I bought the V28: Deepest Violet color and there is no purple in my hair. My hair is dark brown/black and the dye just turned it black. In a certain light, it shines blue instead of the purple I was hoping for. I don't know if I got a bad box but it definitely didn't work and also left my hair feeling more dry. Pretty disappointed.

There's no bad here. I maintain a light blonde base color and feel anyone wanting to use pastels should use good sense and lighten their hair in advance. Don't expect the soft smokey blue pastel on the box if you dive in with black hair; it isn't reasonable, albeit the instructions don't insist on this step.
The color is outstanding on my light blonde, definitely true to the color modeled on the box.
I bought this somewhere else 1

It turned my hair black. Not any shade of purple. I recommend this for strictly blonde ppl. I have light Brown hair with Auburn highlights....and this turned my hair black.

I did a test strand with this & it didn't come out purple at all. It only darkened my hair slightly. Very disappointed because I loved the color on the box & was really excited to dye my hair this color.
3 washes and its gone 3

I have tried all colors and everyone one only lasts 3 washes then it leaves your roots " Tented " and the rest of it is blond

I bought the Dusty Mauve shade from my local grocery store. I had gotten a hair trim the day before. I started out as my natural dirty blonde with a lighter blonde balyage. I applied the dye on dry hair that I had washed the day before. Completely saturated I let it sit for about 30 minutes from start to finish to make sure the ends of my hair had plenty of time to soak up all the dye. After, I washed with cold-lukewarm water. It turned out very even and the color was literally the exact color of what the box promised. I guess I was lucky and the shade of my before hair was optimal. The picture posted is after a second wash, 48 hours after dying. I wash my hair in as cold water as I can get, and I use paul mitchelle color protecting shampoo and condition, followed by CHI rosehip oil color protectant. My hair is tied back in the picture but it is that color throught my hair. The ends are a TAD bit lighter. Hardly noticeable but to be expected. I definitely recommend, but follow the instructions, don't leave on too much longer or you will probably end up with more of a purple color. I will most likely keep this color for awhile and I will continue to use this brand.

So the comments I am seeing are ridiculous. If you haven't been doing hair for long please just do research. You need toner! that's why you're hair turns yellow or orange, and your not supposed to put it on your scalp. Start at the bottom so your hair isn't platinum blonde on your roots. Please educate yourself before slamming a product. Will be trying very soon!
I love L'Oreal hair color, it doesn't damage your hair. 5

I wrote to L'Oreal and explained how the black gloves bleed black color onto blonde hair!!! This makes things more difficult. I throw away the black gloves and use clear ones. Even the label on the bottle will bleed black ink all over my gloves. PLEASE GET RID OF THE BLACK GLOVES!!
I would buy it again 5

Came out darker than i thought. Used the red velvet instead of my normal cherry. But i think once it lifts like reds do I'll like it more. Still a great winter color

I have natural dark brown hair and was craving a change. After much debate I decided to go with this brand and shade of purple. I did NOT want to go to a salon and have my hair fried by bleach, was looking for a quick and simple DIY. Product is easy to mix and use, but heads up it looks red during application to the point where I almost thought someone switched the colors in my box and checked the labeling several times (it does turn purple after some time while hair is dying) I rinsed my hair and looked in the mirror to a disappointing shade of black. It took 2 weeks for it to lighten up and under the sun/bright fluorescent lighting it is a gorgeous shade of purple. That lasted me about 2 more weeks before my hair is now a shade between its natural dark brown and black with little to no purple. This may last much longer on blondes but for brunettes it fades away fairly quickly. Disappointing because at its peak the color is gorgeous.
It not what you think! 2
Brassy colors from Asheville NC
I went to a salon and asked for my hair to be a reddish maroon color underneath, with lots of blond mixed in my already brown hair. 5 hours and $$$ latter, my hair was dark underneath and she completely bleached the top part of my hair. So it was brassy with yellow and blue. I toned it with platinum from Sally's, which is great stuff, but as it faded I really wanted to fix the ugly brassy colors in it. So I heard that this bleaching kit was the best. It was simple. I left it on 45 mins. After washing it out and using the conditioner toner my hair is very brassy, worse than before and it turned the pretty already almost platinum pieces to a white. If you were doing this from brown hair it would turn it orange like my roots and maybe after using this kit several time over you might could achieve platinum. This is my experience! It may be different for others. I decided to do a review on this product due to when intryedntonfind reviews there just wasn't a lot to go on, especially for someone who's hair is already bleached.

I've used this color so many times and it always looks the same and it covers great on my dark brown hair.

I kept seeing insanely varying reviews for this product. There was no middle ground, so I decided to take a chance on the pink dye. While it was setting, you'd think I would have had a winner. There was a lot of very noticeable pink. But once I rinsed my hair, there was MAYBE a faint hint of pink. My natural hair is a light ash blonde. I would have expected a lot more pink to have stayed. Extremely disappointed. I love other Feria dyes, but this just does not work.

My Sister was in town visiting, I had previously dyed her hair blonde with the intent of dying it light dusty purple afterwards, but she was content on the blonde so we just left it.. Not this Time!! Muwhahahaha .. We stumbled upon this & she didn't care and agreed the Glam Grunge Dusty Mauve would look good. She has thick hair so I bought two of them. It was easy to put together and apply, she wore an old shirt with a towel over the back, it was a tad more drippy then most dye but it was essier to distribute that way. The only thing I can say bad was the smell, it wasn't unbearable or anything but it was strong and definitely needed some airing out when we were done. She washed and dryed her hair right before we applied it and left it on for a full hour saturating her medium brown roots and blonde ends. We both were surprised at how even it turned out, lifting a bit of her brown and turning it a Auburn mauve with the blonde ends a tad more purple toned. I think if we had only left it on for the 25 minutes her ends would have been lighter but she was very happy with how it turned out. It looks more mauve pink in different lighting. Success :)
My new go-to bleach! 5

You will get the best results if you have prior knowledge about hair bleach and the process of going blonde! This product is probably the most gentle bleach I've used. It came with a shimmering creme that you mixed in with the powder and developer and I believe that's what makes this product really work nicely! DO NOT use the nozzle bottle that comes with it. For even application get a mixing bowl and brush while sectioning the hair to apply it in the most professional way. This will give you even results. Be aware that you are going to most definitely need more than one box unless you have a very short pixie cut. I recommend this product only if you know a bit about using bleach, and the complete process of it. The toner in this box doesn't do much use but it definitely makes hair softer. So don't rely on the toner to get rid of the brassiness or pale yellow stage. Go to Sally's and buy Wella color charm. Lookup the color wheel to figure out which toner to use to get rid of certain tones your hair may have pulled. If your hair came out a darker orange/brassy you need to put bleach on only those sections again checking every 5-10 mins. Also if you have extremely processed/fried ends beforehand I recommend CHOPPING off as much hair as you can. Going blonde is a risky process and it might cause significant damage depending on the intergrity of your hair. So if you're committed to going blonde I highly recommend doing coconut oil treatments, and major trims before doing so! But the reason I would buy multiple boxes of this product instead of just getting a tub of bleach for myself is simply because I feel like this bleach isn't as harsh as something I could find at Sally's. And it lightened up many levels!
Doesn't work! 1

Used this to bleach my already-dirty-blonde hair. Did absolutely nothing. Horrible product, not to mention the nozzle of the bottle is not functional.
Be cautious! 2

Be careful if you put this on light blonde hair...it does not make your hair "appear blue", it downright turns it blue!! Royal blue, in fact. So if you want that color, go for it. The color definitely lasts.
Love it!! 5

It lifted my previously darkened hair so quickly and it didn't turn orange or brassy. My only issue was I wish I bought two boxes, as I just barely had enough for my shoulder length hair. My hair still feels soft. I've bleached my hair a lot and this was the least harsh product I've used. Love it!! Will definitely use again if I decide to rebleach
I am freaking out 1
Insucurehuman from Philadelphia Pennsylvania
So immediately after reading the instructions I noticed that your hair can fall out if previously colored which wasn't on the outside. Already scared, I left it on my hair for an hour just making sure my brown roots were gone. After rinsing, the color is uneven and my roots are completely differnt from everywhere else. ORANGE. I don't know what I'm going to do and I'm freaking out about this. Please don't use this
Great product 5

Don't understand these negative reviews or even saying it won't lighten hair. I have medium brown (and gray) hair and it works fantastic. No brass, nice blonde/

This lightened my hair not even a full shade. I had to send my mom to the store to just get bleach and developer because there wasn't even enough for half my hair, and my hair isn't even that long. Nothing would come out of the bottle cap so I had to dig my fingers into the bottle.

After a disappointing experience with Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Bold Violet - not a disaster, but it came out more red than purple on me - I decided to give the Feria V28 Power Violet a try, and I'm glad I did! Not only is it exactly the color I wanted, but my hair has never been so soft!
I started with medium-dark brown hair, long-ish (past my shoulders, not to my armpits), but very thin, and with a slight red tinge from the previous attempt, a couple of months ago. I did not bleach at all. I got a lovely dark purple that can pass for a natural color indoors at a glance, but is definitely purple when the light hits it or you look closer.
I only needed about 2/3 of the dye to saturate my hair, but those with thicker hair will need more, of course. I applied with brushes and a dye bowl, and I think that helped me get better coverage than I have had using bottle and gloved hands in past attempts.

I've been dying my hair with this for years and it's cheap, works well and doesn't destroy my hair ❤️😍❤️
