Most Helpful Positive Review Best Powder for my Oily Skin!
I use the powder to set and sometimes bake under my eyes. The powder is lite weight and easy to apply. The packaging has a slide to close off the powder from spilling everywhere. Powder in general can be messy but I have minimal problems with this powder being messy since it comes out in small increments.
The powder is yellow but not Sacha Buttercup yellow where you will literally look yellow lol. It has a hint of yellow that truly brightens your under eyes. It does not leave me with a white cast and I even use it to sharpen my contour.
The powder price is great in my opinion but I use a combination of high end and drug store. This powder is truly my favorite powder. I've used Dermablend, Laura Mercir, Sacha Buttercup, Cody Airsprun, and the list continues. This powder does not dry out my under eye and when my oils starts coming through it does not budge.
Most Helpful Critical Review Disappointing
I've been wanting to try this product forever and waited until ulta was selling it because I dont shop anywhere else for my makeup. First of all, for the price it's extremely small but I get the markup value and I understand smaller brands may need to price it this way so I got it anyway. My biggest issue was that when I applied the setting powder it would look beautiful at first but then would break apart when I would apply setting spray. You could see the powder with little white specks and see it broken apart in patches on my face. I experimented trying it dusted on lightly and with baking under my eyes and jawline, I tired multiple different brands of setting sprays as well. I tried it with a few different foundations under. No matter which combination i used it was the same thing, as soon as I used setting spray you could see patches of powder all over my face. Even with paying attention to how I blend. It was sad because I really loved the packaging and wanted to like this product. It was also shocking because I couldn't find any other reviews reporting this issue but when I returned it at ulta, the cashier told me a lot of people report the same problem. I ended up exchanging it for the too faced powder and am so much happier with that powder. No issues at all.

i love this powder! for the longest time i used the maybelline fit me loose powder, but i wanted to try something new. i had heard really good things about this one so i decided to give it a try. i'm so glad i did! its a fine powder and sets my concealer really nicely without being too thick, chunky or cakey. it has a velvety finish that leaves my skin looking nice and smooth, even on days when my skin isn't doing great. the only thing is, if you are a more oily skin type it might not be powerful enough for you or you might have to use more; i have pretty dry skin but after a day at work (as a server) i am definitely looking pretty oily. not a big deal though if you don't mind doing touch ups throughout the day. overall, i would definitely recommend this product, i can't imagine doing my makeup without it now!

I'm a new fan of this one. I work 10 hour shifts in a state penitentiary, it's hot and this held up as well as my Fenty, if not better. I'm an oil slick and I was still in place at 5.
Powder was too "thin" for my super oily face
Alex from Chicago
I have fine lines under my eyes and I rely on translucent powder to set my under eye concealer to avoid any of the concealer setting into my fine lines. I saw the reviews on this product and decided to try it out.
Unfortunately, even with the powder, my makeup still creased within an hour and my concealer faded a little bit as well. I have super oily combo skin and I applied it to my t-zone to help my makeup last. Within an hour, my face became super oily as if I never applied any powder. I think this didn't work out on me because of how thin the powder is. Laura Mercier's powder is "thicker" and I think that is what I need to keep my makeup in place.
Helps with Glasses Wearers
Cakemare from Pennsylvania
Although this powder is very drying, it's perfect for dusting on the cheeks so that your glasses will rub off less makeup if they rest on your cheeks (works for the nose too). I'm not saying it's a fool-proof solution but compared to other powders, this one reduces makeup removal due to my frames the most.
This seems ideal for someone with oily skin. I have dry skin so I set it on and dust it off within a few seconds. It didn't dry me out too terribly. The key is to spot bake in areas that need it the most rather than your entire under eye to cheek area. Do this to avoid emphasizing texture of dry skin and for other powder products to apply better. Also, go in with a moisturizer before you do your makeup and drink water throughout putting on your face and this powder should be fine!
Flashback is bad

Clumpy, and the flashback is unforgiving
Great setting powder
ksm34 from Central, NY
I have been looking for a new setting powder that helps control oil and doesn't sit weird on my face/in my pores. Gave this a try based on reviews and after using it for a few weeks, I can say I love it! I use the Oat (translucent) and it's perfect for my fair skin. The powder sits nicely on my skin without caking (lol) and doesn't settle weirdly into my pores. I think it has helped control oil along with other products I'm using. Not heavily scented and the packing is ADORABLE!
I love this powder!
Quiera from New York
My go to powder is usually Laura Mercier, but I wanted to switch over to a black owned brand. I actually love this setting powder more than the Laura Mercier, and it is a much more reasonable price point. I purchased the translucent powder for my under eye highlight and I look forward to purchasing one for all over my face.
Best soft-matte setting powder
Anna from Wilmington, DE
This is the best soft matte setting powder. My skin is normal/dry and I don't look cakey or dry with this. It's so light and just enough for powders not to move.
BEST POWDER EVER
Victor from Chicago, IL
I love this powder and always recommend it to others. It gives you a silky finish on top of your foundation and concealer. In a way it also blurs out your pores. Very long lasting!
Cassava is not yellow
AmyF from Florida
Cassava is not yellow... like at all. It's a nice setting powder but does absolutely nothing as far as brightening under the eyes. Wouldn't purchase again
I would definitely buy this again!
Thatgrlblue from Denver, Colorado
Matched me perfectly! Nice and light, and I LOVE the packaging! Controlled my oily skin and the shine all day
Love this product! Will buy again!
C.M. from Morgantown, WV
I love this product. It works great for setting, or baking. It's a very fine powder and goes on nicely. It keeps the oil away and also helps cover any oil that pops up. I like how the kid closes so the powder won't spill out.
Feelin fabulous from Alabama
This baking power is nice, it doesn't look or feel caked on when applied. I will definitely order again. Great product!
Mikki from Paducah Ky
I love this product! The packaging is adorable and it works great. I'm definitely going to check out other Beauty Bakerie products.
BBShay from Okc
I have this powder in multiple shades & for some reason the Plantain works HORRIBLY on me. I have oily/combination skin so I never have any issue with dryness, but for some reason that particular powder comes our with ugly, patchy dry spots & the few times I've used it I had to completely start my complexion routine over again.
I started to not write this review since I have had nothing but good experiences with this brand nut then I caught wind of the CEO being completely disrespectful & demeaning to her black employees. So no matter how much I loved the other products I wont be buying again.
melts into the skin- great for medium skin tones
ita from nc
I have medium tone skin that is also relatively dry. this powder is perfect for setting and baking. despite the name it's not super flour like and is fine enough that it melts into my skin instead of just sitting on the surface and making me look cakey. the different shades also help with brightening my skin and reducing white flashback.
I would buy this powder again because it looks very smooth!
Jessica from Las Vegas
It's a great powder if you're looking to invest in a high quality but less expensive high end powder. It blurs your pores and looks amazing.
Not so sure!
Blondie from Enterprise AL
I gave this a three star for the simple fact that I was not happy using it with a sponge to pack it to set under my eyes and around my concealer but it may do better using a fluffy brush and just dusting it on. The packaging is 5star and adorable. I was left at the end of the day with blotchy patches but this also could have been from the foundation which was also from this brand that I was not thrilled with either. Just don't think this brand is for me and my dry skin needs. I will stick with MAC and It Cosmetics.
my new fave
sofia from philadelphia
i bought this powder to try something new and because the packaging is cute and i've heard good reviews! it is definitely my new favorite. i got the translucent version, it's very fine, goes on smoothly and leaves skin looking flawless. i also have dry skin, so a lot of powders stick to the dry spots on my face and make them more noticeable, but this one didn't at all. it made my skin look and feel healthy and smooth. it also keeps makeup on all day without needing touch ups. i will definitely be repurchasing!

the best setting powder i've tried!!
light and fluffy
JoJo from Bangor, Maine
Love this product! Light and airy texture left my skin feeling like it could breathe while giving me an air-brushed finish. Didn't irritate my sensitive skin at all. Held my make up in place. This is the only loose powder I will ever use. I've already repurchased it as I used up my first one (lasted me about six months - I used it at least five days a week). Also, I love the creative packaging and branding (I'm a chef), I love that this is an indie brand, and I love that it is run by a woman of color.
Haven the Heathen from North Carolina
This is a great setting powder. It is not a heavy powder and it has no scent unlike other powders on the market. It is lightweight but not as lightweight as the Cover FX powder, for reference. I have no complaints! The packaging is super cute, too.
I would buy this again!
laurabrooke32 from Bethel, MO
It came in such cute packaging! But more importantly it's a great product. Works exactly like I hoped it would.
best powder I've ever used
emmajean from Oregon
This powder is spectacular! It's incredibly finely milled and easy to blend. It gives the prettiest and softest finish to my makeup and I find myself using it on days I'm not wearing foundation or concealer because it gives such a lovely diffused look. Another massive plus is it's fragrance free! The locking sifter top is the icing on the cake. I have super watery eyes, so my concealer tends to suffer. I've found using my fingers to dab the powder around my eyes almost completely stops the smears from happening. I'll never use another powder!!!
I always have a stock of it.
Fae from Orlando
Love this powder so much!! It is my go to powder for baking! I can't tell you enough to try it. It is a bit pricy for the amount you get but it is well worth it!
