Most Helpful Positive Review My New Favorite Iron
Let me start off by saying that I seriously dragged my feet on buying this iron. My Sedu finally died and I was left trying to find a replacement. Several other irons were bought and returned for various reasons and I eventually broke down and asked my new hairdresser what she would recommend. When she told me this is her favorite iron I almost dismissed it because I have tried the Paul Mitchell Neuro Shine in the past and HATEDED it! It snagged my hair and left it feeling dry and looking dull.
I am not easy to please when it comes to a flat iron because I use it DAILY! I have wavy but coarse hair that always seems to take several passes with even the best flat iron which is tough on my hair. Even when it came down to ordering this iron I hesitated with it in my cart and almost decided to give another brand a try instead. I am SOOOOOOO glad that I went with it because I was pleasantly surprised.
While this iron maxes out at 410 degrees (I have always had my set at about 425-430) it seemed to be just as hot if not hotter than those that I ran higher, it has NEVER once snagged my hair and I only need more than a single pass when I get to the very top of my hair (this is where I wear it thickest and this area takes the most abuse). I was also unsure how I would feel about a plate size wider than 1 inch as that is what I have always used but after a few days of practice, I am not sure I could ever go back now. The slightly wider plate allows me to smooth larger sections at a time thus decreasing the overall time it takes me to straighten my hair. My hair looks smooth, straight, shining and most importantly NOT dry.
This iron has a decent cord length (not quite as long as some others I have used but still plenty long enough. The temperature can be set in 10 degree increments (max temp 410 degrees) and the weight of this iron seems lighter to me than most.
While everyone's hair is different, I would definitely recommend giving this iron a chance!
Most Helpful Critical Review Made my fine hair too flat
Great shine, but too flat for fine thin hair. It says it's for all hair types but no matter what temperature I set it at still same result. I think this would be great for thick or frizzy hair.

My mom bought me this as my first straightener about 10 years ago. I lost it after 8 years but it was still working great. So I bought the same one again. Then my puppy chewed it up and the plates are scratched (it was unplugged and cooled) so I bought another one again, it's so great
Best flat iron ever made
KateO from Ithaca
After 9 years, my Paul Mitchell flat iron died...what a sad day but I am excited to ge th a new one. I hate hate hate getting my haircut! I live in a small town with not a lot of selection for hairstylists. So anyways, my hair is longer with dead ends and this iron is the only one I've ever used that didnt make my dead ends A) look frayed and dry B) rip off the broken hair and C) snag when healthy hair I had. All around, best straightener money can buy.
LASTS FOR YEARS!

My mom bought an older version/model of this flat iron maybe 13 years ago... we still use it and it's amazing! I can't recommend the Paul Mitchell brand enough!
I would buy this product again!

Hello salon fresh hair!

My hair is wavy, after blow drying my hair, it is of course a lil frizzy, I flat ironed my hair and loved the results!!!! It was a Mother's day gift to myself😁
OMG best hair straightner you'll ever buy
Christina from Louisville ky
Ive had this straightner for 16 years, and it still works like the day I bought it! I've literally lived longer with this hair straightener than I have without it lol.

I've gone through 2 of these in the last several years. After my 2nd one pooped out (top plate doesn't heat, temp display malfunctions, unit randomly shuts off after just a few mins) my tech savvy husband dissected it to investigate the problem. He found that the power control board is poorly manufactured and the wiring is clamped too hard. It's clamped so hard that it practically broke the wire, which is what's causing the poor electrical connection. I have a $20 Revlon straighter I've had for nearly 12 years that still works perfectly. This product is entirely too expensive for this to be an issue. Do better, PM.
Not NEARLY as good as the older model
Emily from Fairport, NY
I previously had an older model of this flat iron from more than 5 years ago and it finally stopped working. It was the greatest flat iron I had ever owned and I raved about it to everyone! Well, I bought this one and I'm not nearly as impressed. It's a newer model and it's such a downgrade. It creases my hair, it snags it all the time, it the end pinches my skin on my wrist when I'm using it, and it just flat out does not straighten my hair as well as the other one did. I'm disappointed because the older model was literally so amazing and they have changed it for the worse over the years. It is now more comparable to a Chi, which is terrible.

I love this straightener! I had the older model for 12 years and it still works perfect. My mom and I were sharing it, so I just bought a second. Never disappoints, ONLY straightener that FULLY straightens my hair and still leaves it shinny with no damage.
Best flat iron ever!
Anna from Tustin CA
I have very very curly hair. I always approach the purchase of a hair straightener very seriously. I watched hundreds of videos and read hundreds of reviews of all hair straighteners. My previous ironing was from BaByliss Titanium for last 5 years . But this from Paul Mitchell is the best I have in my hands! It perfectly straightens my very curly hair and, in addition, it makes perfect styling. I received many compliments from my friends and each thought that I was doing the styling in the salon. The flat iron is worth every penny!
I regret this purchase and the damage it caused
Cherie from Houston
I was a HUGE Paul Mitchell fan but this model changed my mind. It snagged & damaged my hair so horribly bad & shorted out prematurely.
I can say it's bittersweet because straighteners aren't cheap but I'm so happy to throw it away & shop around for a better straightener this go around.
I would buy this product again!
Toya from Virginia
It is a great product! Heats up quickly! Wished the temperature had the option of going up to 450 degrees.
Wish I had purchased sooner!
JRabbit from Seattle
Needed to upgrade my current straightener as it started snagging my hair 😭 Saw this Paul Mitchell version in a limited edition set and decided to pick it up - wow, didn't know what I was missing! Quality is undeniable and it glides through my hair without any pulling. Not to mention how smooth/shiny my hair is after, I'm sold. Salon quality at a great price point 👌 Highly recommend!
Changed my life!!
Game changer from Kentucky
The best straightener I have ever used! I have very frizzy thick hair and always straighten my hair yet it always was still frizzy especially in the summer. This straightener actually takes the frizz out of my hair and makes it looks straight! I love it!!!
Yaya from Oklahoma
Paul mitchell flat irons never disappoint. This one straightens and takes frizz out of your hair and leaves it looking shiny and healthy. Also the iron will last forever. Buy it you won't regret it
I LOVE THIS
Sydney from PA
I really love this flat iron. It makes my hair shiny and less frizzy. It heats up super fast too! The only thing I dislike about it, is that sometimes it snags my hair a bit.
My be unless I can find better one.
Markisha from Urbana
I just couldn't get my roots straight at thit top it takes lot heat get my hair straight. I have long thick hair
Heats Up Fast
Jess from Minnesota
This straightener definitely heats up fast. I do like that it is wider so I can straighten more hair at a time although I wish it clamped down to straighten as well as my previous straightener. I tend to have to go over the same spot a few times.
Worst investment ever from Manchester, CT
I've used my straightener maybe eight (8) to 12 times since purchasing it back in September. When it does turn on it doesn't heat up as fast as it should and it certainly doesn't straighten my hair like it should.....straight!!
Works after hitting on button ten times
Riri from Virginia
I got this flat iron after my stylist did my hair with it, so I spent the money to get my own! Have not used more than 10 times...Error message when turning on, have to turn on and off like 10 times before it turns on properly. It does ok straightening. Overall, I am not amazed.
Stopped turning on
Iris from Montana
I used this iron 10 times at most and it just stopped turning on one day. Too much money to spend on something that won't work for even 6 months. Very disappointed, I had the old model for 8 years before it quit.
Such a great flat iron
Rosemary from Houston Tx
This is a great straitener ive tried many others but none leave my hair as strait as this one.
Best Flat Iron Ever!
Nanc from Pittsburgh, PA
I use this flat iron daily. My hair is thick, color treated, and shoulder length. I can't tell you how pleased I am with this iron. It was worth every penny. I would absolutely purchase again If I had too. I would never go back to a one inch flat iron or another Chi. There is no comparison. Paul Mitchell blows Chi out of the water! My hair isn't damaged at all, shiny, and I can flatten in half the time. I have a new favorite, and I drug my feet for awhile on this purchase. My hairdresser recommended it, and I am so glad she did! Thanks Paul Mitchell!
Worth the money
Missy from LA
Makes straightening my wavy hair quick and easy. I use it on a low setting with a heat protectant spay and after 6 months it still works just as good(as it should) and my hair seeks damage free.
