Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel for Acne Prone Skin:

I am very upset with this product. I have used cleansers from this brand for years now. They had discontinued the cleanser I had used previously from this brand, so I was recommended by a worker that this cleanser would be great. I used it for about a week or so with no complications. I noticed my face would be extremely red after use, with the redness increasing more and more after each time. After about a week, I had a severe reaction to the product. My eyes, eyelids, and underneath my eyes swelled up and turned beat red, and the rest of my face was also red and swollen (ie. the product was not applied to my eyes). I am very shocked and unhappy as I've used many other products from this brand before.

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel for Acne Prone Skin:

Having suffered from moderate to severe acne for over 10 years, I had given up hope. I'm in my 20s, and nothing has ever helped me clear up my acne, until I read about this product. I use it twice a day, but only leave it on for about a minute. Any longer, and it may burn the skin. For those worried about it drying out their skin, I too have very dry skin. So my answer is to always always moisturize after using this product. A good, unscented moisturizer and some refreshing spray throughout the day will prevent any drying.
It is a bit pricier than something you could buy at a dollar or grocery store, but the price really isn't that bad, especially considering the results.

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel for Acne Prone Skin:

My dermatologist recommended this product and I decided to give it a try. That was 3 years ago! Since I started using this product my acne product is almost gone. I get the occasional hormonal acne every now and then, but no more stress related acne! 100% recommended!

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel for Acne Prone Skin:

First— although I do look at prices I would much rather the product work than be cheap. For years I have struggled with my skin. I tried a ton of face washes, masks, and many diy options. I first bought this in March when someone recommended it. While I do still have the occasional breakout and I do get oily still- my skin has completely changed. The texture is better, the clogged pores are reduced, and so are the breakouts. It's deffintiely worth a try.

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel for Acne Prone Skin:

I have oily skin, and use this product every other night. My skin is instantly refreshed, clean, and oil-free after using this product. I LOVE it! I've never had a product that works this well before! It does dry out/irritate the skin around my nostrils, but I learned that quickly and now apply lotion after using and the problem is solved. I do alternate (every other night) with a calming, milder wash, and exfoliate once a week just to make sure it isn't too harsh or strip my skin of the good oils. My acne has also cleared up. LOVE THIS PRODUCT 10/10

Hi! I have super oily, acne prone skin that gets dried out and peels super easily and I was wondering whether I should use this cleanser or the Toleriane Foaming Cleanser? I want something that's some gentle so that it won't dry my skin out anything but I still want it to help the acne and make it feel clean. Thank you so much!

Hi Annika! We understand how complicated it can be sometimes picking out a cleanser for your skin. In this case we would suggest our Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser as it gently cleanses impurities and reduces excess oil while helping to prevent over drying. It is soap-free, alcohol-free and oil free. It also uses zinc pidolate to purify the skin and help remove excess oil. Make sure to apply a good amount of moisturizer afterwards and keep the skin hydrated. We hope this information helps!

                  A:

Our Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser is recommended for oily/shiny skin to gently cleanse dirt and oil while respecting the skin's pH balance at 5.5. This product is gentle enough for everyday use and is tested on acne-prone skin. Our Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cleanser is a daily face wash for normal to oily skin and recommended for sensitive skin. We hope this is helpful!
