I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!

By Jodeci98

from Fort Worth

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment:

I had hormonal acne that was just getting worse and nothing I tried helped until this product.

*WARNING: it wilk dry your face out and make it itch if you dont use a moisturizer om top*

I learned that the hard way. But once i used a mosturizer it worked wonders. It made my acne disappear as well as my blackheads and minimized the looks of my pores, as well as made my skin have that glow look to it.

I highly recommend this product. Just be careful not to dry your skin out. If used correctly its magical.

Amazing

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment:

If you need a product with benzoyl peroxide (antibacterial), this should be it. Proactive is a joke compared to this. It doesn't dry the top layer of the skin out, which causes more problems. It absorbs perfectly, great under makeup. The result is just great skin, very balanced. I can't say enough about product.

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment:

this is a very good acne treatment. i have combination skin that starts out very dry in the morning and ends up oily by the end of the day. this works very well with my clinique moisture surge moisturizer. i use this for the occasional pimple and it does tend to dry it out so i suggest using a good moisturizer. this works very fast. my pimples are gone around 2 days after i put this on. definitely worth the price- i got it in june and it's currently april- so it's lasted me over 10 months and i'm still not out yet. a little goes a long way with this product!

Cleared up hormonal acne fast

Pros

  • Works Effectively

Cons

  • Mild burning, but who cares it works.

Best Uses

  • Inflammatory Acne
  • Moderate Acne

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment:

I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but I'm blown away. I could feel it tingling and burning just a little and knew right away it was working. It helped decrease a cystic acne blemish and surrounding redness after only a couple days. I used it before researching the product, because I was just desperate to put some benzoyl peroxide on my acne and be done with it. But, it stands out from your run of the mill benzoyl peroxide cream because it uses LHA(lipohydroxic acid) which is a form of salicylic acid that works similarly to a retinol to help cell turnover. This helps the BP penetrate!!! Genius.
Now, I did experience a little bit of dryness because let's face it, this ain't no magic voodoo cream made of unicorn tears. That being said, I'd buy it again.

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment:

This is a good product overall but just know that it is NOT a miracle cure to all acne. When i leave it overnight over areas of large, deep cystic acne, I do notice that the inflammation and the bump is significantly reduced but when it comes to stuff like whiteheads, it wont do anything. Don't think of it as a magic product that will dryout any whiteheads because thats not what this is. It will reduce the size and inflammation of deep seated acne.

Usually the only issues I have with acne medications are that they're expensive and do nothing but make my face more oily causing me to break out more. This one however BURNT MY SKIN. the past 3 Days my face has been bright red, inflamed, and drying out more and more every day to wear I look like a shedding lizard. It's disgusting, it burns, and itches. I never write reviews good nor bad but this product is a definite no on my end. And should be removed from
          The shelves !!

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment:

I have never written a review before but I feel the need to write about this amazing stuff, because not many people know about it and it's very underrated. I started getting acne is 6th grade, and had severe acne all over my face by 7th grade. By 8th grade I had tried every medication my dermatologist prescribed and many microdermabrasion treatments. Finally, i was put on accutane when all else failed, which has many negative side effects. This worked for me after about 6 months. My skin was 1000x more clear BUT once I got into college, I began getting breakouts and more subtle lingering acne due to stress and horomones. I didn't want to go through accutane again....SOOO (I worked at an Ulta many years ago and saw his product on shift), I finally gave it a try after awhile and let me say, it is the only thing that keeps my skin clear and smooth. I use it with a clear complexion moisturizer and my skin stays soft and clear. You can use it as a spot treatment for stubborn little pimples that show up over night and it will be clear in a day or two. When I can feel tenderness from a cystic pimple starting to form under the skin, I dab this on there every morning/night and it clears SO much faster. You can use it all over your face (like I do every morning and again at night). I can not stess enough how life changing this stuff is. It's kind of pricey but worth every penny. I also use the face wash! Moral of this very long story, THIS STUFF IS AMAZING AND MORE PEOPLE WITH ACNE PROBE SKIN NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT!

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment:

I have used this product for several years now and when I use it continuously it works great. I usually put it on at night before bed but have put it on under my make-up in the morning and it was fine. If used daily it keeps blemishes at bay. I have used it for a spot treatment periodically and that works ok, but it works best for me with daily use. I have painful cystic acne as well as smaller whiteheads and this is the only product that has helped my acne.

Comments about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment:

I've always had issues with mild acne but over the past few weeks, I've really been struggling with a flare up. Before I would normally get a few zits on my chin or my forehead pretty regularly, but now for some reason, I've been breaking out in these big painful zits on my cheeks, along with breakouts on my forehead & chin. I got this product in a Cyber Monday sale, the reviews were great & I was desperate. I used it for 3 days & my skin completely freaked out. On the 4th day, the skin around my nose became extremely red & irritated, it felt like it was burning. Also, my skin is drier than the Sahara Desert. I know Benzol Peroxide can be drying but this is ridiculous. My skin has never been this dry in my life, it feels almost scaly, it itches, it's just a disaster. & it's had no effect on my acne at all. In fact, I've developed a new painful one on my chin. I have oily-combination skin, and I was really hoping this would work but it hasn't. Perhaps it would work more as a spot treatment instead of "applying a thin layer around the infected area" like it says to do on the product. So I might update but first, I need to get my skin back to normal.

Hey Tonya! Unfortunately, we do not have any information on if our Effaclar Duo+ will be available in the US. Since you are allergic to benzoyl peroxide, we would like to suggest a product that uses salicylic acid instead. Please take a look at our Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser. This cleanser will help to target excess oil, pimples, blackheads and whiteheads for clear skin. You can learn more about it here: http://bit.ly/2GbO2yd. We hope you give this wonderful acne cleanser a try!

Hi Jomo! Absolutley! The Effaclar Duo Acne Treatment is formulated with micronized benzoyl peroxide (5.5%) to fight acne deep in the skin. Visibly reduces all types of acne blemishes and penetrates deep into pores to clear even stubborn blackheads and whiteheads. We recommend to apply thin layer morning and/or evening 1-2 times daily to affected areas, and for more severe acne use as a full face treatment. We hope this helps!
