Most Helpful Positive Review It does a it does what it claims to do!! Some people are leaving comments saying it does not absorb water well. Well, that is because it specifically says on the back of the packaging to use DRY. Things don't work their best if they aren't used as directed. Although because it is a dry sponge, it does soak up more product than a wet beauty blender, I still really like it. It gives full coverage, just like it claims. I like to pump the foundation onto my hand, dot it around my face, and then wipe the excess foundation off of my hand onto the orange side of the sponge. Then, I begin to blend. It really does do a good job at giving full coverage because it is not thinned out with water (like in wet sponges), nor is it dispersing product in a manner where as to get the best usage out of your foundation pumps. There are pro's and con's. It does soak up more foundation than a regular real techniques sponge, but for those who want full coverage- this is the go to sponge. I use the pink side for concealer and highlighting, and also for cream blush. I personally love it. It works best in my opinion for the days I need to cover my redness a little extra. But, both sponges are different and both are great, just depends on your personal preference. It is only about $6, so giving it a try isn't putting a hole in your wallet, it could end up your favorite makeup applicator :)
I haven't figured out the best way to wash it though yet lol.
Most Helpful Critical Review Nothing like a beauty blender I've been trying to get by without having to purchase a beauty blender because of the price. Was hoping this would've sufficed but was incredibly disappointed. It's now become my last resort sponge. It's very rough even when wet, I would recommend the normal orange real technic sponge over this one.

I love the og real techniques sponge so I thought i'd try this one. It is SO dry. No amount of water makes the sponge wet bc it is so hard. I can make it work for what i need but my hand is tired from the blending bc it holds no water.
Perfect blending sponge 4

Easy use for a flawless face. I love the shape of it and it's easy to use to get into any crease. No cons for this product!
Not useful 1
Ag from Fl
Doesn't blend and is so stiff! I get you're supposed to use this dry, but it still leaves patches and is like hitting your face repeatedly with a block

Doesn't blend very well, ending up buying a new one the next day.

I love every product I buy from ulta, however the front door girl that's greeting people is beyond rude. If you don't want to loose business, train your girls to be nicer to the customers to give your company business.
Don't buy it!! 1

The worst sponge I've ever bought!! The sponge it's not soft, wet or dry it doesn't blend the foundation evenly. It leaves patches👎🏼

I'm never picky when it comes to makeup tools, but this one sucks! Doesn't change how firm it is when wet, doesn't blend just moves it all over the place.
Loved! 5

I wanted to use this for blending my concealer but there was no softness at all. This just wasnt for me.

This doesn't blend well, and I feel like you waste product in this sponge
Stick to the original orange sponge 1
Alyssa from Queens, New York
Only bought this because of the price and thought the color was pretty. Sponge barely works dry or wet plus zero density. The orange one at Ulta is 100% better.
It's the worst 1

Horrible just don't even.
hard Sponge 1

This sponge is hard. I get it we aren't supposed to wet it. Based off the reviews I read people are saying bad reviews are because we don't know how to use it. Well guess what. I actually do know how to use it dry and I applied my cream blush with it and its like beating my face with a dang rock. This sponge is awful.
Wasnt a fan of this sponge at all. 1

Wouldn't buy it again
Used correctly (dry) but fell apart after cleaning 2
T from Texas
I don't wear make up everyday. But I do clean my sponges at least 1-2 times a month. I've had this one since Early December and it's just completely fallen apart. Good while it lasted!
Does not expand when wet! 2
Hmarie from Lincoln NE
I've heard pretty good things about RT's sponges and I love their brushes so I picked this up. I went to use it and it doesn't expand at all when wet, nor does it soften! It's like solid and impossible to dab foundation or concealer on like you would with a typical beauty blender. It's blenders like these why BB can get away with charging $20 for the original. I can't even use this. I gave it two stars for the shape as the flat end would have been a good idea in theory. Glad I'm not out more than 5 bucks!
Too stiff 1
Yesi from Yakima, WA
I tried to use this to blend my foundation. I hated it, the sponge is too stiff and does not blend well!
The Bad Reviewers Don't Know How To Use The Sponge 5

It's a shame when keyboard warriors are quick to rate a product 1 star when they can't be bothered to read the directions. It's for dry and wet—of course it's not going to be soft.
Love this Sponge!!! Great for traveling 5
J from LA
I bought this sponge bc it was meant to use DRY and I was out of town. It's easy to take with you and not worry about wetting the sponge. It can be rough but it's the way you use it. It gives a more natural look and it's great for cream products. I wouldn't recommend it for those who worry about tugging on your skin or soaking up your products. I love the sponge and will buy it again.

spend the extra two dollars for the actual real techniques sponge this one is so hard it's like a lacrosse ball hitting you in the face and absorbs all the product

wish I would have read reviews before purchasing.... does not blend, doesn't absorb water. it's very bad. I didnt want to just toss it so I use it for my setting powder bc that's literally all it's good for.. this thing STAYS rock hard. DO NOT BUY
AWFUL 1

This sponge is so so so so bad!! Doesn't absorb water at all and just takes tour makeup off instead of blending it! The regular orange sponge is great, but idk what they were thinking with this one!
