Most Helpful Positive Review LOVE it!! I use this to add volume to my crown area & it works extremely well. I have soft, fine naturally curly hair and a very small amount (about 1/2 a pea size) is all that's needed to work for me. I love this so much more than Big Sexy Powder play. Doesn't feel greasy or cakey at all.
Most Helpful Critical Review The Jury Is Still Out........ The first time I used it, it was perfect. I think I may be using too much. I noticed that when I skipped conditioner (which I rarely do), it didn't perform as well, and left my hair a little dry, but nothing I couldn't brush out. I'm happy enough with it, that I'll keep it, and keep practicing until I figure out how much to use. It definitely provides lots of volume! It's like an invisible hair spray...which you will not need with this product. You can put it in your hair during the morning, and its' effects last all day, in to the next day, simply by tousling the roots of your hair! Definitely worth trying out!

I know I am in the minority, but I really don't like this product. I had been using R&Co's Badlands paste but decided to try this based on the positive reviews and the Ulta sale. I have fine curly hair that tends to go limp. This product did not help at all with giving me lift at the roots. Also, I know it's advertised as a dry shampoo, but it actually made my hair more oily and dirty looking/feeling compared to the other one I've used. For me, it didn't work at all. If you're looking for some lift at your roots, I would go with R&Co's Badlands paste, it really works.

This is definitely a product where a little goes a LONG way. I've found the trick to this is to only apply it to clean hair. For me, if I apply it to second day hair it makes it look greasy. I apply before styling, then after I turn my hair upside down and shake at the roots, it adds a ton of lift!

I like how it uplifts my hair
Great for wash day and second day hair 5
Heather P from Portland, OR
I LOVE this product. It only takes a tiny bit, well emulsified on the finger tips and rub in at the roots. It creates volume and grit/texture at the root and absorbs excess oils, keeping the hair looking fresh and clean! The only downside is the strong fragrance. It's not unpleasant, but it clashes with other fragrances.
Good product 4

I really love the smell of this product! I was really hoping this would replace my dry shampoo, but it doesn't quite do the job for day 3/4 hair. It's enough to give some volume to day 2 hair, but it just isn't strong enough for my greasy head on day 3. My husband has used it & it works well to give his short hair volume and definition, but his skin/scalp is prone to being on the dry side.
There's a trick to using this 5

I have short, thick hair and this is the perfect product to get my hair textured and bouncy without feeling crispy or greasy. I first bought this from my hairstylist and she told me to rub it between my fingers to soften it up almost to a liquid before applying it. That makes a world of difference not only on conserving the amount you use, but the amount of control of the product. I think some of these reviewers applied it straight out the the package, which would feel pretty greasy and heavy. But a little goes a long ways if you use it correctly.

Adds volume to fine curls! 5

I love this stuff! I have fine 3ab curly hair that often falls flat on top. I warm this up on my fingertips and massage it around my roots when I need a lift. It makes my hair look great!
A game-changer! 5

This stuff is amazing on my fine 3A curly hair! Nothing I've ever tried has given me volume like AG Dry Lift, and BONUS...it sops up oil so I can get an extra day or 2 between washes. It's a holy grail product for me!
Didn't work for me 2

I'm not sure I really understood how to use this, but i tried unsuccessfully to get volume at my roots. I ended up with a sticky mess. Didn't love the texture either.
Still not sure 4

Definitely adds lift but leaves hair with gummy, dry feel. I don't use very much. The smell has earthy ,natural scent. I'm still not sure I like. Would probably not buy again.
Great dry shampoo replacement 5

I got the AG Natural healthy hair starter kit to help transition from Deva Curl destroying my hair. The dry lift, rosehip balm, remedy, balance shampoo and boost conditioner were all in this kit. It's hard to find products for thin, fine, curly/wavy hair because it's very frizzy and everything for curly girls is too heavy. I've made the transition to AG and Paul Mitchells Lavender Mint collection. Im hoping it works out, but time will tell.
I used to use dry shampoo on my third no wash day, and sometimes as early as my second depending upon n the weather here in the south. Traditional dry shampoos cause so much frizz, and dry the rest of my hair out. This paste is great cuz i have more control over where it's applied, how much is applied, AND it doesnt dry the rest of my hair out! Win/Win! Highly recommend trying it out. Play around with how you use it. It's very versatile. If you dont like it, you can return it. Most everything is returnable now an day.

Hair stylist recommended it for my short layered cut to look piece-y.
It doesn't do the trick for my particular hair and my hair feels dirty

An unrivaled hair styling product that gives your hair an unreal volume. Even a too tiny piece of this product turns thin, soft and thick hair into a lion's mane. But the most important reason why I chose the product of Natural line of this brand (not any AG products, but just AG NATURAL) is because its ingredients are harmless for human health and hair. I use a mini amount of this product on wet hair after every hair wash; I apply it exactly following the instruction. The volume remains until the next hair wash.
Found a new must have. 5

Just grabbed this while walking by. So glad I did. I have used a few times and feel like I found a substitute for the root powders that I have used for years. Doesn't make your hair feel sticky but lifts and gives instant volume.
Excellent Volume 5

I use this as a finishing product and as my final styling step on dry hair. I have baby fine, curly hair (2C-3A). After my hair is fully dry, i take 1/2 pea size amount of product and melt into my fingertips, and then i flip my hair over (upside down), and rub into my roots. The volume this gives me is truly fantastic, and it does not leave my hair greasy like other pomades. I can use this every single day and it will not build up or weigh my hair down. Total winner!
Love 5

This stuff. My hair is heavy and lays flat... a little dab of this stuff between your fingers added to your roots makes a world of difference. Love it. I've tried others like the BIG powder and this stuff is better❤️
Must have for thin & fine hair 5
citychick from Brandenburg KY
I have looked at this product for months, reading the reviews but still very sceptical. I finally decided to purchase, since it was half price. I have used oone time, but let me tell you... it is well worth the full price & then some. I have very thin & fine hair and to get my hair to style and not look so thin is a chore. I used this dry lift this morning, about the size of a pea, rubbed between my fingers and worked through my hair and as soon as I started working with it I noticed such a difference. I have short hair in a pixie cut and it is 100% a must now. I have very dark hair and you can not see the product at all.
My tried and true 5
Reina from Gilroy
This is the 4th time I've purchased this product! I can't go a day out without it, it gives me tons of volume with weighing my hair down like dry shampoo sprays. AND it doesn't give you that ugly white cast that dry shampoo sprays give you.
Finally Found One! 5

The hair wax I had used successfully for years was no longer on the market. I have tried quite a few different products and this is the best I have found.
works on natural hair 5
ellie from Indianapolis
I have type 4b hair and this creates wonderful volume on wash and go's 2-4 days in. Typically I refresh my hair with a mix of water and NYC curls conditioner, diffuse, and add this to the roots around my face and crown of my hair. Great smell, easily application, and really like the grit of the product.
So happy to have found this product 5
Jenny from Portland, OR
My stylist introduced this product to me as a way to add some lift at the roots of my somewhat fine wavy/curly hair. I love my curls but my roots would always be so flat. Not anymore! This product has seriously changed my whole look. After I diffuse my hair (until it's ~95% dry), I take a dime-sized amount of this product and rub it into my fingers (not palms), then use just my fingers to work it into the sides and crown of my head. Only at the roots, no more than that. The product is gritty, almost like it has super fine sand in it, which puts just enough texture into my hair to make it stand up a little. You can't see the grit at all, it totally disappears into my roots. Suddenly I have volume! It does start to deflate after a while, but all I have to do is give my roots a 2-second zhuzh a few times a day to keep it fluffed. And it smells amazing.
Bump 5
Shelly from Glen Burnie MD
Love!!! I'm always looking for Ways to create a bump in the crown of my head. About a quarter size dab of this product rubbed in your hands and then from the back to the front of your hair at the crown, massage it st the root and release it and then use it to peace out the rest of her hair if your hair is layered. Absolutely love it and it lasts all day
I would not buy this product again nor would I recommend it 1
