I have never tried a lip serum before and now I can't get enough of it. A friend surprised me because I was constantly complaining of dry lips. During my pregnancy, I had really cracked lips (even after moisturizing with lip balms). I buy lip balms all over the world when I travel and I really like one German brand and thought that was my favorite, not anymore. I'm just so happy that I found this brand! I apply it once before going to bed and lips have been super soft. The packaging is excessive, confusing, and why do these new products need their own pouches that can't be used for much else? The pump doesn't release a consistent amount of product unless you use both hands to steady it and go very slowly. The neck of the applicator feels like it's going to snap at any time. That aside, this lip serum is heavy and goopy. The website tells you there's a hint of natural vanilla but the package itself makes no mention of that - unless you read the ingredients and discern that "Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract" is going to give it a fragrance (but honey or other ingredients won't). I am one of the rare people who hates vanilla-scented products but we do exist, so I really have to force myself to keep this on as a treatment because it's not a nice vanilla, it smells fake somehow. (Package also says it's free of "fragrance," by which they mean "added, synthetic fragrance.") They do disclose that there's shimmer which I'm sure is a great selling point for some but, for me, this entire combination (scent, texture, high shine w/shimmer) makes it feel like little girl's lipgloss. I would really only consider wearing this out for an event of some sort because my lips do look good, but this isn't something I'm using daily. My partner also hates vanilla in body/skincare so I don't use this if he's around, but also you don't want to kiss anyone wearing this. After the initial application and the cushion against itself has worn away, this leaves a grittiness that feels like it's fine-sanding my lips. I used this twice at night and woke up with dried out lips. We ingest our lip products and I'm not thrilled I'm eating silica and glass (calcium sodium borosilicate), which I assume have to have something to do with the shimmer otherwise why are they in there?
