I've been using this face wash for about a year. I've used it on it's own and with Cetaphil's oil-control moisturizer. The face wash works best with the moisturizer to help control oil and it has been my holy grail for my morning skin care routine. A couple of things about this product: (1) It is not for removal of makeup. This is a daytime-only face wash that should be used prior to putting makeup on. This face wash shouldn't be used to "take the day off." If you're using this at night for that purpose, you will be disappointed. (2) I saw a few reviews where people said this dried out their skin. I'm not saying some won't have a negative reaction - there are all sorts of different skin types - but this face wash is for people with REAL oil control issues. If you get a little oily in your t-zone or a little shine on your face throughout the day, this is going to dry out your face because it's not for people with skin that's a "little" oily or shiny. This product is for those of us with serious oil-control issues (it may work for combo skin types - but this really is for people with OILY skin). Know your skin type and understand what oily skin really is. If you have to ask yourself, "Do I have oily skin?" You don't. (3) I saw some reviews where people said that they had to use a lot of pumps of this product. You don't need to make your face completely sudsy with this face wash. Wet your face before application and 2-3 pumps will be more than enough to fully cover and clean your face. Hope this helps!!
i've used this brand for years and have used this foam wash before and i forgot why i stopped using it. but i bought it again for the first time in a couple years and so far it just makes me more oily than i was before i even started using it again AND i use it with their oil control moisturizer. the regular cetaphil facial cleanser worked better for me than this oil control one does. i was still oily using the facial cleanser but it was not nearly as bad as it is using this oil control foam wash

One of my favorite cleansers.

Definitely not my favorite cleanser - it leaves me with that squeaky, stripped feeling, but there's also a filmy feeling that stays on the surface of my skin for a few hours. I prefer the Cerave foaming cleanser or the LRP toleriane cleanser for my ultra oily skin. They leave my skin feeling softer and less... weird. The good news is that it didn't break me out, so there's that.

Been coming back for at least 5 years now. This cleanser is the best at controlling my oil and acne prone skin. Even better when I use with my Clarisonic. The high end cleanser just doesn't compare

If u don't know much about skincare, you might be on the no cetaphil bandwagon too. The only reason ppl don't like this is bc 1 it's not pretty and expensive 2 it has no active ingredients. Active ingredients are what the rest of our skincare routine is made up of, a cleanser is supposed to do just that- cleanse. And this does that simply, gently, and thoroughly, without any irritation whatsoever. It's not supposed to transform your skin, just clean it. I highly recommend to anyone suffering w stubborn acne, irritation, or texture issues/ large pores.

I started using this product when I was getting bad breakouts. It cleared up my skin!!! Now when I break out I use it morning and night. It also takes off all of my makeup and leaves me feeling clean. Your face does feel dry afterwards but nothing moisturizer does not fix. I did use the matching moisturizer which is good as well however I started buying a cheaper one.

I like it, I also bought the moisturizer. I used these and when I put on my makeup it wasn't nearly as oily as before. The ONLY complaint would be, is that the box it came in was damaged and some of the wash had spilled. It didn't have the plastic protective lid on top just a piece of tape.
this kind of works from fort smith arkansas
i gave this product 3 stars because the product was okay. it kept the oil off for the first few hours then my face looked like i took a dip in the pool

I bought this face wash because my old one from clean and clear is no long available.. I did some research and this was highly recommend and had the best results for my skin type. Its been about 2 months that I've used this ( morning and night ) and also purchased the moisturizer that goes with it. For a foam wash its very light and I like that about it. When I use it my face feels really clean. Rarely would dry my skin out and the moisturizer would somewhat help. With oily skin I do see a small difference but as for acne its come and go. For only being 2 months I'm assuming my skin just has to get used to this product and it will improve my acne more. Overall I do recommend this product if you have oily skin and mild to almost no acne like myself.

I have oily skin this works great for observing the extra sebum, but it leaves my face extremely dry, and I still get pimples. I recommend trying this but using a well penetrating moisturizer with it

I have a lot of acne especially around my cheeks and chin. It didn't work for me, it only made my skin dry and flaky around the mouth area and chin for some reason.

This cleanser was recommended to me by my dermatologist 6 years ago to help with my acne, and I've been using it twice a day ever since. It's gentle, effective, and good at removing what my makeup remover didn't. In combination with other products, it hasn't gotten rid of my acne completely since my skin is naturally very oily, but it's dramatically reduced breakouts. It might dry your skin out, especially when used with other acne products, but the solution I've found is to use a moisturizing toner and a moisturizer afterwards, and that's usually enough to keep the flakes away.

I've used this cleanser for years after having it recommended to me by my dermatologist. It's very gentle but can leave skin feeling dry. I dont understand people saying it doesnt remove makeup because I've never had that problem. I wipe my skin off with a wet cloth or makeup wipe and then use the cleanser. It's great at removing my mascara and it doesnt burn my eyes when I use it around that area. I have been on the lookout for a more natural skincare line that helps my acne. However, I stick with this because I'm nervous to switch. I do use several perscription products for my acne so I can't say if it's made any big differences in acne but it doesnt break me out at all so that's good.

I love this wash and have used for months!!!

I remember buying a small trial size bottle of this stuff prior to buying this bigger size, and absolutely loving it. Now I have very sensitive, oily, acne prone skin and I was skeptical to try it the first time through as it seemed nothing worked for me. This works great and I highly recommend it!

So when I used the cetaphil oil control wash it would work for about an hour and then my skin would end up being super oily. And the times were I didn't use it my skin it would be oily but not as much as when I use the cetaphil oil control wash in the morning

This is not effective for makeup removal and it stings much more than other cleansers when you get it in your eyes. I enjoy the oil control, but this benefit does not seem to outweigh the other setbacks. I do not plan to purchase this again.

After 15 years of trying all sorts of brands for my cystic adult-acne someone recommended i try the Cetaphil line. I found this acne/oil prone skin on the shelf at my local store and figured for the price I'd try the wash and moisturizer. I have been using the same bottles for 3+ months (I'd say 3 out of 7 days a week I fail to wash at night, but use makeup remover cloths ALWAYS). Within a week or two of using this I was pleasantly surprised at my clearer skin. It does not do anything for my 15 years worth of scars from the acne, and I do still struggle with oil, but not near as bad as it was. (I no longer feel like I was smacked in the face with a vat of frying oil.) I have to mix and match so many products to get the right results for me - especially as a budget shopper. But this skin care set (wash and moisturizer) have been amazing. I also use a drugstore brand benzol peroxide spot treatment under the moisturizer after washing in the morning. Both products are very gentle with no irritation. Now if i could find this with anti-aging, scar removing, and something to help smooth out my pores I'd be all set!
