Most Helpful Positive Review have to play around with it I understand the frustration of some reviewers, I really do. but I don't completely knock the product because it depends on the method you use to clean (palm of hand/flat surface, cleansing mat/tool, dry/wet) and also the type of bristle on your brush (natural, duo fibre, synthetic, patented special bristle depending on company I.E. sigmatech, Royal & Langnickle) and last- the product that was left on the brush (cream, liquid, powder) honestly the variation is endless. I usually use the method of warm-above-room-temp water mixed with a dollop of the gel in a bowl and soak my brushes in there first as I prep my area for cleaning (very important since cleansing should be a in a disinfected area to lessen any bacteria) and after about five or so minutes I use the palm of my hand to swirl around the brush and develop any soaked up product into a lather. if I feel that there is still more product in the brush I either dip it in the soaking water or just add gel into my hand or brush and create a lather again. what's funny is- with my duo-fibre brush I felt a sort of a filmy feel to it when it was dry so I decided to add a drop of gel onto the dry bristles and rub it in- surprisingly there was quite a bit of product still there but I was able to get it out. I know it shouldn't be such a mission to clean brushes but you also have to take into consideration of all the details before knocking a product. I will say one thing though, this gel cleaned my blending sponges quickly and thoroughly! the scent of it is also very pleasant.
Most Helpful Critical Review It's okay If you follow the directions on the bottle it says to wet the brush and then put the cleaning product directly on the brush. I had a REALLY difficult time getting any product off of my brushes by following the directions. I did not wet my brushes before adding the cleaning gel and it works so much better, so I would recommend not following the directions on the bottle and adding he cleaning gel to dry brushes, massage it in and then swirl around your hand

works very well for getting my brushes clean. only complaint would be it takes a bit more than I would expect to get the clean. usually i have to wash my brushes twice to get them thoroughly clean. and i don't use it on my sponges.

Horrible brush cleaner. Had to use a quarter of the bottle to halfway clean my brushes. Even after using that much of the cleaner my brushes still have foundation on the bristles. I'm sticking with the eco tools brush cleaner, it does a way better job. Only went with this cleaner because eco tools was sold out.

I'm a Real Techniques fan. They are very good beginner brushes for those new to makeup. I expected their cleaner to perform better. It's just okay. I use the SIGMA cleaner which is MUCH better.
Gets brushes mostly clean 3

I was happy with how it cleaned powder based make up but not super impressed with getting foundation and contour off brushes. Color still stains the brush and product residue is visible
Great smell 5

I love the smell of this brush cleaner, and it gets my brushes so clean! Even my brushes that look stained, come out so clean afterwards
works fine 3

Works well enough. I feel like it's a pretty basic brush cleanser. Has a decent scent. I used to use shampoo all the time and I think it works just as the brush cleanser really.
My go-to 5

This is the third bottle I've bought, and will continue to buy. Combined with the silicone cleansing mat, it cleanses my brushes and beauty blender really great. I've tried other cleansers and even after washing, I can still see makeup on the brushes. This is the holy grail and will be the only one I will continue to use.
Not for me 3

Works for shadow and blush brushes, but falls short with my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation.

I bought it & returned it the next day. I had to use the gel 3 times in order to get all the makeup off my brushes. I wanted to try something new, but ill just stick with my dr bonner soap instead!

I haven't cleaned my brushes in a long time and they smell good and look clean. They were out of Ecotool, so an employee said this was the same. Wouldn't say it's the same, but it works and I like it.
Super Impressed! 5

Works sooo much better than soap and water. I used this with their brush cleansing palette and it took the makeup right off with just a few swirls. Love it!

This product was a good price but the saying cheap isn't always best is true. I used this on my IT cosmetics brush and it did not take off any of the foundation that was on the brush. As I was washing my brush I noticed a lot of the hairs falling out. I only wash the bottoms never where the brush meets the base. After noticing the foundation wasn't coming off the brush I stopped washing and began to pay dry in a towel, all the hair of the brush started to fall out.

Just use shampoo or soap. No since wasting any amount of money on this. I wasn't impressed ~ I will use it but won't be repurchasing
Not the best 1

Used it with the cleansing pallette & it made my brushes sticky :( I even looked up the YouTube video because it was first time cleaning my brushes! I had to throw away those brushes because it didn't help at all. My recommendation, just use shampoo!
The smell is gawd awful 1

I can't even use this on my brush bc the smell is so strong like an old perfume it gave me a headache and made me sick to my stomach. Even after washing it off my hands with dawn dish soap my hands still smelled. And the ingredients are garbage! The Beauty blender solid bar is much better!

This did not lather or clean my brush well at all. 1

I thought since it was recommended it would be good to clean my foundation brush, but it didn't seem to work well at all.
Was skeptical, but it's amazing! 5

I had recently bought a brush cleaning mat and wanted to try it with something that is specifically for brush cleaning. What other brush cleaner would be the best fit than one from Real Techniques (being that they are known for their brushes). I wasn't expecting it to clean my brushes so well but it did. It also left my brushes feeling really moisturized. My brushes also dried a little faster than usual. I don't know entirely yet if it was due to the brush cleaner but I'm happy. Would definitely recommend.
Not the best... back to EcoTools 2

I have tried washing my brushes with this cleaner many different ways, including in the RT cleaning palette I just bought, and it does remove SOME of the makeup from my brushes... but when I pull out my EcoTools brush cleaner and use it the same exact ways I was using the RT and it cleans ALL of the makeup off that the RT's Brand couldn't.....well yeah, then that's where this review comes in to play.
I wouldn't use this for any medium-large brushes that hold heavy amounts of makeup. I have the Real Technique's large oval face brush that usually gets caked in foundation and this cleanser couldn't remove any of the foundation from the bristles.
I wanted to love this. But I'll definitely be going back to EcoTools, or even baby shampoo.

I was very disappointed with this cleansing gel. This product is so horrible that I would compare it to using plain water.
Got the brushes clean 5

It took the makeup right off of my brushes! Plus, it smells nice.
Works awesome! 5

This is the best brush cleaner I have had! I put a little in the bottom of the pallette and add some water and scrub, and swirl it around, and it gets it ALL out! I had a foundation brush that I hadn't cleaned for at least 6 months, (don't worry I wasn't using it) and it had makeup all in it, and it completely got it out! Love this for the price! Also, awesome smell.
Terrible 1

Absolutely LOVE Real Techniques brushes but thit cleanser is awful. No matter how many times or how many different methods I used - this cleanser did NOT clean anything. Back to EcoTools cleanser.
I would buy this over and over !! 5
Dogmomforlife from Kalamazoo, michigan
I first got this as packets in a set with the check blender set and fell in love so much I bought a bigger bottle! This is way better than anything I've every EVER used! I just pour some into my hand and rub my brush and rinse the brushes off and they're white and good as new! I'm not sure why some of these reviews are bad but it's the best thing on the market to me !

Doesn't clean blender and my brushes don't really look clean
