GREAT PRODUCT BUT....

By Cynthia

from Naperville

Comments about Laura Geller Cover Lock Cream Foundation:

This product is amazing, but I've learned to use only a tiny bit. I have combination skin, I use a glycerin based primer to hydrate my skin. Anything silicone makes it slip. But I love the way it covers and stays through the day. You just have to know what products go well with this. But it's one of my favorites!

Comments about Laura Geller Cover Lock Cream Foundation:

This was my first foray into liquid foundation (I used baked powders for years) and I have to admit that I was pretty happy with the results. Is it perfect? no. However, for the price it does a fairly good job and I find that it blends better with foundation brushes than it does with the beauty sponges. I personally switch between an IT Cosmetic Brush and a Morphe Brush when putting this on my face (just depends on which one was cleaned before getting ready in the morning). It does go on a bit more orange than I like since I have fair skin, but less is more when it comes to this foundation. Overall, I love Laura Geller products and this is a good product, but I think I will be branching out to other brands to find "the one" that matches my skin type better and doesn't feel as heavy.

Make-up works great! I think my face is too oily for this make-up but this was the one recommended by the Ulta sales associate. I don't think its fir my type of skin.

Comments about Laura Geller Cover Lock Cream Foundation:

Like others have said, this cake central. What's even worse is how awful the colors are-the lightest (porcelain) is practically orange. I don't get it.

Comments about Laura Geller Cover Lock Cream Foundation:

This product really broke me out and caused my face to be extra greasy. When i put the foundation on, it had little to no coverage, it sat on the very top of my face and didn't blend well, if you looked close, you could see that foundation clumped up on my skin, it make my skin super greasy and shinny in a bad way. I returned it.

              Why?!

              By Cece

              from Minnesota

Comments about Laura Geller Cover Lock Cream Foundation:

I bought this foundation because it was recommended by an employee. I love the coverage but it does feel thick. It definitely doesn't last on my combination skin for more than 6 hours without a touch up. As others have said, after a few hours the foundation begins to sink into fine lines. No matter what primer, setting powder or spray I use. The worst part of this foundation is it RUBS OFF ON LITERALLY EVERYTHING! I've never had one transfer like this one does.

              • Q:

How is this product different than the Laura Geller's older foundation, The Baked Liquid Radiance Foundation. I was quite upset to hear that it was discontinued. Does it have similar texture, feel, etc.?

                  A:

This foundation is just as hydrating, however it is a little thicker- more like a cream as opposed to a liquid. The coverage is full, and Baked Liquid has a medium coverage level. I would recommend trying this product, but mixing a little Spackle primer or your moisturizer into it to thin it out. This way, you'll obtain the coverage you desire, yet it'll be more of a similar consistency to what you're used to. Also, keep an eye out for a brand new foundation we're launching called Filter First. The formula is GORGEOUS and it's the perfect medium coverage. This will be out by the summer! Enjoy!

              • Q:

Which Color Lock Creme Foudation matches closest to the discontinued Laura Mercier Smooth Creme Foundation shade "Sunny Beige."
I used this for years and after discontinuation I've spent a small fortune in middle to high end cream foundations that claim full coverage but are not always. Also I can't seem to match the shade Sunny Beige which was perfect for me. No red tones , had yellow tones which is what I need.

What type of brush are you using? I recommend applying cover lock with a stippling brush. These brushes are so light and fluffy and do an amazing job at buffing the foundation into your skin without making it look streaky or dotted. It's a full coverage foundation, so remember that a very little bit goes a long way. Apply in light layers for the most natural look!

This foundation has full coverage which means once you apply, you will. It see any skin show through. It does fill in pores and it covers all skin imperfections. It is loaded with hyarulonic acid which means that it is extremely hydrating, making it perfect for any age- especially older skin. Just apply a little bit at a time- the coverage is amazing and a very little bit goes a long way!
