Ivory is light enough to match my pale skin

Cons

Comments about Revlon ColorStay Makeup For Combo/Oily Skin:

Pale ladies, the ivory color is actually light!!! I have an extremely hard time finding drugstore brand foundation that isn't too dark for me, doesn't oxidize after a few hours, and helps control my oily skin. I have tried all maybelline, loreal, and covergirl foundations in their lightest shades and none of them were light enough to match my skin tone. It is also full coverage! One layer of makeup is all I need to completely cover the redness on my cheeks and chin. I buy the one for combination/oily skin but also use a setting powder on top to make sure I stay matte throughout the day. Some days I wear this for 16 hours straight with some touch ups with my setting powder. It takes me over 2 months to finish a bottle and I wear makeup everyday so buying this at $10 is an absolute steal. I came across this two years ago and I have not switched foundations since

    It's not that great, really

    Best Uses

    • Light To Medium Coverage

Comments about Revlon ColorStay Makeup For Combo/Oily Skin:

This stuff is fine in that I wouldn't go out of my way to return it, but I'd rather not use it. It goes on okay, but only looks decent after a second layer (for reference, I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush). It doesn't keep oil from breaking through for more than a few hours, no more than 2 or 3. It got incredibly blotchy on my nose after about 7 hours, and on the whole my skin did not look very good. The coverage is medium if you do 2 layers. I would not buy this foundation again, and I'm not even sure that I'll finish the bottle.

Comments about Revlon ColorStay Makeup For Combo/Oily Skin:

This foundation never does me wrong. It lasts so freaking long and looks great from the time you put it on till you take it off. It's matte, but not too matte and looks so good on the skin. Seriously amazing.

I heard so many good reviews on this I thought why not give it a try? I mean it's pretty good for the price but I probably wouldn't buy again. it's medium to full coverage and is buildable. it's lightweight but is definitely not "24 hours." It lasted barely 10 hours. It started to look patchy and break apart, my bf was the one who'd told me since we were out and I couldn't get to a mirror. other than it doing that, I was fairly impressed.

My T-zone is very oily but the rest of my face is normal, would this foundation work for me? Does it settle in the pores and make them look bigger?
Also, which primer would you recommend using it with?

                  A:

Revlon ColorStay Foundation contains a new time-release technology that keeps skin balanced for a fresh appearance all day. The ultra-lightweight formula is non-comedogenic and because of its buildable coverage, it allows you to create the coverage you need. I would also suggest using the ColorStay Pressed Powder on t-zone. A great primer to use is the PhotoReady Anti Shine Balm to erase pores: https://www.ulta.com/photoready-primer-anti-shine-balm?productId=xlsImpprod11611023

Hi Kiki! Revlon ColorStay Foundation provides buildable coverage to allow you to create the coverage you need. Primer is not necessary but if you would like to use one, any of these PhotoReady Primers would work great depending on your targeted area. https://www.ulta.com/photoready-primer?productId=xlsImpprod4040053

I have Natural Beige (220) but it's slightly too dark. Should I get Nude (200) or Sand Beige (180)? Most of them are in order from lightest to darkest but a few are out of place.

Hi Ali, I would suggest Shade 200 Nude if you want a slightly lighter shade. Also check out your local Ulta store as there are testers for all Revlon foundations for you to find your best match!

              • Q:

Help! The color names don't convey which shades are for warm vs cool undertones. Is there a number system or chart of some sort to tell which is for which? I have a light skin tone (exactly between fair and medium) with warm undertones and I am stuck trying to choose between 200, 220, and 240, and I'm not even positive it would be one of those. lol.

                  A:

Hi! The shade order will be changed so that they are in order by shade numbers for clarification. Generally, the higher the number, the deeper the shade, but some will have warmer or cooler tones. I think 200, 220, or 240 could work for you depending on how deep you need. I would suggest going to your local Ulta store as there are testers for all shades so you can find the best match!

Consumer safety is of paramount importance to Revlon and we have adopted policies that are designed to ensure that we meet the regulatory requirements for safety around the world, for all of our brands. The Company has not tested on animals since 1989 and believes that animal testing is not necessary to establish the safety of our products or ingredients. Today, there are alternative non-animal scientific methods available that can be used to validate product safety. Revlon supports research to validate these alternative testing methods and organizations like the Institute for In Vitro Sciences (IIVS) which broadly promotes their global use.

There are, however, a limited number of countries that have not yet adopted these alternative scientific methods. While Revlon complies with the requirements for safety in all of these countries, we continue to collaborate with other companies to advocate that these governmental authorities adopt alternative testing methods and eliminate animal testing everywhere around the world.
