Left my hair dry as straw, even with a deep conditioning pre-treatment routine, it sucked the moisture out of it and left me with frizz.

      Not bad!

      By Valeri

      Comments about L'Oréal Colorista Bleach:

I used the ombré one and I have dark brown hair. I had been slowly lightening my hair so I could get a bayalage done but after I found out cost I was slowly changing my mind lol well I gave this a try after watching a few YouTube videos and I'm impressed! I mean yeah i have some brassy orange in my hair but even a hair stylist does that to my hair! I'm planning to tone it in a week or so but not bad results! The little brush it comes with is super useful.

I left this on my hair for a solid hour with NO results. Luckily I didn't deal with any of the damaging effects others mention, but I also had no results, nothing. Waste of money and time.

            Comments about L'Oréal Colorista Bleach:

I've been paying lots of money at an Aveda salon to go platinum for several months, but a bad back that gets unhappy when I sit in a salon chair for a long time pushed me towards DIYing. My hair is very fine and becomes oversaturated with color products easily, so I was very worried about breakage as well as obtaining a color and texture for my roots that was consistent with my existing color. I watched a lot of youtube videos and read quite a bit about process to avoid damage, brassiness and bad color. This product worked great! The instructions were quite clear and consistent with good advice from professionals and my color looks fantastic! I also used the Brass Banisher by the same brand, a light purplish color that works in 5-10 minutes to reduce yellow tones. Other key products to keep my hair shiny and strong are Olaplex (available elsewhere) and Don't Dispair, Repair by Briogeo. My hair looks [bleeping] rad and I'll have extra money for vacation/home repairs. Woo hoo!
The only negative point I have is that there is not a brush to spread the bleach goo on your roots or rattail comb to make rows in the hair roots included with the kit. This is sold separately, and I should have bought it. My usual old toothbrush approach did not have the coverage to keep up with the acreage I had to cover in a limited amount of time. And next time I'll have a friend help me with the back of my head so I can get more even coverage, but that's just normal human limitations and not a product deficiency.

            Comments about L'Oréal Colorista Bleach:

Kind of drippy, easy to confuse conditioner with lightener, pay attention to which tube you use. I like to usethis to lighten my son's hair because it's gentle enough that I can dye his hair the next day without killing his hair.

              Comments about L'Oréal Colorista Bleach:

Purchased today at Ulta because they didn't have what I was looking for. I applied to my natural dirty blonde hair and it hardly lightened, it basically just turned it orange. The brass conditioner did not help at all. I also bought light pink since I'm going for pastel pink and thought it may work over the orange...I look like sherbet ice cream, not pretty pastel. VERY unhappy with this product

Been bleaching hair for ten years and I've never had this bad of an application. I used two bottles and didn't even lift two levels. It was spotty.

I just used this to bleach my pixie cut (brown, fine hair) before applying bright colours. Gave me almost a white-blonde bleach look with no damage (after deep conditioning).

                      A:

Hello! This product is a lightening product that lightens your hair through stages the longer it is left on. On hair that has a very dark starting point like a dark brown/black, it most likely will not be able to lighten fully in one application. We advise doing a strand test first to be sure you know how long to leave the product on. We hope this helps!

                      A:

Hi Hunter! There is not problem leaving the conditioner in longer, but we do recommend other products. If you want something for brassiness we recommend our EverPure Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner for daily use. If you are looking for more hydration I would recommend one of our EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System Moisture Restorative Masque.

Is this safe to use? without ammoniac? I have a colour level of 8-9, so a bit yellowish, but blond. I wish to get a clean blond to be able to use pastel colours. What is the difference between home bleach and salon bleach? Thanks!

                      A:

Lightening hair is always a permanent process. Once the hair is lightened, that hair stays lightened until it grows out and is cut off or dyed a darker shade. Most of the fun Colorista shades are made for use on pale or bleached hair. However, for darker hair we make 4 shades just for brunettes; teal #10, burgundy #20, red #30 and tangerine #40.
