Comments about Redken Color Extend Bonder Kit:

I can't believe Redken, I would seriously come out with a color treatment, with SLS in it, which strips your hair color. I'm so disappointed in Redken right now, I couldn't even believe it after I fell a rough and stripped my hair was. I thought for sure the Redken line with now realize the SLS is horrible for your health and your hair. And to specifically say it's for your color and after your color services, is just ridiculous. I will be sticking to my pureology
        I'm very disappointed

My hair was always long and gorgeous!! After a disaster color and cut I had it colored repeatedly and started styling with heat tools to get it to look decent. After 8 months of abuse it was like straw and STARTING TO BREAK OFF!! I tried olaplex, the UNITE line, MONAT, everything, but this system worked miraculously after 1 shampoo- it was like my old healthy hair was still in there somewhere!! I just stumbled upon this at my local Ulta and grabbed it out of desperation. So worth it!!

Why did they put SLS in the shampoo?

          By Dee

          from Pittsburgh

Comments about Redken Color Extend Bonder Kit:

Ugh. This would have been 5 stars but you can't keep color in the hair if your stripping it out with SLS every time you shampoo. Not to mention it's a known skin/scalp irritant. I have to throw out the shampoo. I just paid a lot for my color service. Not washing it down the drain and giving myself dandruff. Please take it out!

Comments about Redken Color Extend Bonder Kit:

This was recommended to me when a stylist took my hair from box color black and lifted (bleached) it twice in one day. I was skeptical. I used this for two weeks (I only wash my hair 3x a week and still had product left over). My hair has never been so soft! It barely even tangles. This isn't my full time shampoo/conditioner. I use this for 2-3 weeks after a color and then switch to Pureology Strength. My first set did last me for two colors - or about 18 washes with medium length hair. This has worked wonders for me. I've never loved my hair until now.

This kit is worth every penny! I had just gotten my hair highlighted and there were a few spots that got a bit fried up with the bleach. I used this today and my hair is SO soft and didn't get tangled out of the shower. Its a 2 week kit and I'm only on day 1 and already see a massive difference. WORTH IT!

Comments about Redken Color Extend Bonder Kit:

Sooo I red the directions prior to buying and figured the best way to do this was to wet my hair in the shower and squeeze my locks, apply the pre shampoo root to tip and wait five minutes while washing up my face and body and shave. Once 5 minutes passes I rinse my hair again. OMG any hair felt soooo soft I was so satisfied. Then I washed and conditioned and boom I was done. After I dried my hair,
It instantly has improved with just one wash. I have a ways to go to achieve the thickness of hair I want after neglecting my hair for over a year without a trim or anything, but I am extremely happy so far.

Comments about Redken Color Extend Bonder Kit:

I went in to the Ulta salon at Midtown, Atlanta, GA for a hydrating service and to possibly cover my grays. I was talked into a balayage that sounded beautiful--sunkissed, subtle, low on my long wavy to curly locks that were shiny and healthy due to thousands of dollars of proper care per year. The salon manager made my hair so fried, not balayage, and damaged that the hair was coming out in clumps immediately, she did a hideous job that looks like a nightmare before picture, tried to hide some of the damage by forcing a cut I didn't want on me (and ruining it more) and no one would help resolve the issue. I finally had to open a legal claim and got the regional hair salon manager to get back to me about what to do. She recommended these products and said she would recommend nothing else. They, coincidentally, did not recommend these products the day I left the salon after the manager took over 7 hours to ruin my hair. The step 1 is supposed to be the most important to use. It's a hot mess to apply to wet and towel dried hair. So apply to dirty hair? Washed and then towel dried hair? We aren't supposed to wash (step 2) before step 1. Sooooo...? If someone has damaged hair like mine, then they need a LOT more of step 1 than step 2 and step 3. I can't even get a comb through my hair. So the size is ridiculously unbalanced. It barely lasts. So, I am not in love with it at all. It isn't helping that much, but I don't know what to do. So I am using it.

                  • Q:

I'm curious about the inclusion of SLS in the shampoo. I was under the impression that this is to be avoided at all costs when dying hair (I dye mine red, for reference) as it is the primary culprit in red fadeout. I'm very interested in using the product, as my red fades rather quickly every time, but I don't want to end up with the reverse. Should I still try this after my next dye job?

The Color Extend Bonder Kit is recommend to be used for the first two weeks after receiving a color service. This kit allows weak bond to reconnect, helps to protect the cuticle to maintain color and helps to remove mineral deposits left after color services. Once you have used this product for the first two weeks it is recommend to switch back to using the pH bonder system weekly.
