Most Helpful Positive Review Abso-freakin-lately the BEST
Initially the application is a little "weird" because it is so different from traditional polish, But it gets easier. I have horrible nails from 2 and a half decades of wearing artificial, everything on them. Nothing lasts. I MAY get 4 days on gel polish but that's a rarity. I am currently at Day 13, (on my first time using the product) and I have no chips, absolutely none, and my mind is blown! Seriously. By far, the absolute best polish I have ever used, and being in the industry, believe me, I've used some polish. I don't know if the top coat can be used over other polishes, but if it can, that alone would be worth your time and $. I would HIGHLY recommend this product, and I have, every time someone compliments me on my manicure. Couple suggestions... Your first application won't be the prettiest, but don't give up. The powder will only stick to the base coat so keep the base coat off your cuticles, and you're golden. Apply VERY thin and even coats. Don't be afraid to use a more coarse file than the one they give you, and don't be afraid to use it. Make sure they're the shape you want before you apply the top coat. Directions tell you to "tap off the excess powder". Don't be afraid to WIPE off the excess. the more coats you apply, the thicker your nails get.
Most Helpful Critical Review Takes a long time, but I think it's worth it
My nails are really fragile, so I purchased this with trepidation. Time will tell whether I made a mistake or not. It does take awhile to do all 10 fingers. I took a break after the first 5 because I don't have 3 straight hours to spend on myself. Yes, 3 hours may be a slight exaggeration, but be prepared to spend a lot more time than regular polish. The product itself is easy enough to use. It does seem like it has a ton of steps, but it isn't that bad. What IS bad is the teeny, tiny brushes in all the bottles. I don't have microscopic nails to match the microscopic brushes. It just occurred to me that THAT might be why it took so dang long to do all 10 nails. You may think smaller brushes make it easier to keep the base product on your nail, but I don't find that to be true (I also tested Revel Nail's powder dip and they have full sized bottles and full sized brushes and I had much better luck with their product). The base coat of this one was actually difficult to keep on my nail and not extend to my cuticles. For the most part, I did okay with my first time ever using powder dip (see pic attached). Only a few mistakes. The brushes are also cheap. They are definitely plastic bristles. All brushes are probably plastic bristles, but these FEEL plastic. I didn't have any problems with the brushes getting hard, but I can see where that can happen if you don't wipe the brush on a lint-free paper towel after each brush stroke. I am also not impressed with the final top coat. It needs to be shinier. Like a fool, I put my own top coat on since I wanted more shine. Shortly after taking my pictures, the top coat started peeling off. Oops. On the up side, it all came off in one piece and the under polish wasn't marred in any way. My last complaint - there aren't enough colors. Which is why I started looking for another product and found Revel Nail. I would definitely go with Revel Nail instead of RCM. Sorry RCM. BTW - color shown is 2 coats of Top Billing.

Turned My Nails Yellow
Sue from Illinois
It was easy to use and I loved how much stronger my nails seemed. But in less then a week when some started chipping off, I decided to remove to change colors. it was then I noticed in the middle bed of each nail, it turned a yellowish green color. After not being able to remove the color, I decided not to put back on. My nails grow fast, and we're pretty strong. But when they grew out to were the yellowish part grew up above the nail bed, my natural nails all started cracking and breaking. So sadly I won't continue using.
Takes some practice!

At first I hated it, but then I realized if I did a few things differently it can actually come out nice! What does kit is missing is a brush to dust off the excess powder and a better file and buffer. If you take a brush (I used a soft makeup brush) and brush the excess powder off, the application is much more even. I also found that a heavy duty file and buffer can make it even more even. And allow plenty of time for that topcoat to dry. My nails look so much better after I took the first round off and applied it again! Still not perfect, but I think with practice I'll be able to make them really nice!

Reading some of the comments below leads me to believe people just didn't know what they were doing. I consistently have my nails done professionally, but due to Covid and pregnancy, I am limiting my exposure to the public and chemical fumes. I purchased this kit and it was delivered 3 days later, go UPS! I did them last night and look wonderful. You must make sure you keep the base coat on the nail and don't leave the brush sitting out of the bottle unless you are physically brushing your nail or it will clump up, its the chemical compounds when exposed to air, it's normal. Follow the directions completely and your nails will be shiny and gorgeous. Make sure you shape your nails prior to dipping and clean the nail completely. I hope this helps!
So hard to use

i ordered this and it came 2 days ago and i did my nails. the base coat was starting to get clumpy by the time i started my other hand. i put it in the brush softener and it didn't work that well but i could still use the base coat. my kit for some reason did not come with an brush replacements. i went to redo two of my nails today and the bottom coat was so goopy and the brush was super hard. i put it in the brush softener and it did nothing. i went to open the top coat and the brush was rock solid. i closed these very tight the night before. the bristles on the brushes fully fell out and because i didn't receive brush replacements this is an issue. overall my nails look and feel good but i'm very disappointed with the products themselves. going to return tomorrow.

I am always in a hurry, hardly ever do my nails. I dislike going to the salon and wait forever. This is perfect for me. I did my nails on 1/28 and as of today 2/10y nails look perfect (:
Probably won't buy again

The base coat didnt come in the box, instead I was given two bottles of activator. I still attempted to use it but the powder did not stick at all.

Fairly easy to use and easy instructions, but the over all look is not shiny. It looks almost sandy and streaky. Could be user error but I really took my time on mine and my daughter's and our both look terrible. Also chipped within the first day.
Brush stiffened before could even use

Base coat does get gooey
love doing my nails from Las Vegas, NV
This product was fairly inexpensive. It was easy to apply as I've been doing my own nails for a few years. I used the product on my one hand one night and the base coat went on smooth. The next day I did the other hand and the base coat had a gooey clumpy texture. The overall look of the nails is pretty.
I won't buy this product again.

Easier than I thought
Just Little Old Me from Atlanta, GA
While the process was easier than I thought, I will have to work on my technique. It lasts just as long as having them done by a salon. I have only done it once, but I imagine I will get better at it with practice. When smoothing your nails after the application, don't feel bad about using the file on the surface - I will be a bit more aggressive than I was. I have had them on a week and they are still shiny. I will do it again.
Easy to use
Alexi from Philadelphia
I have used their gel starter kit and thought I would give their dip kit a try and oh my, it was easy to use, lasts a long time, and the outcome is absolutely beautiful. Personally, I think the finished product of your nails looks more elegant and natural looking as compared to the salon. Highly recommend!
Worst base coat brush
Latisha from Rancho Cucamonga, California
I just got done doing one hand and it came out so perfect. I actually like this product but the only thing is the main base coat brush clogged up. It has so much build up from one hand and I made sure I cleaned my hand fully before putting on coats and dipping it into the dip powder but still it gets build up which I don't like especially for the price I paid. I'm going to go through the extra brush tips just for my other hand. They need to fix it because buying another base coat is $10 which I'm not trying to pay. Other then that it's a good system and my nails look natural.

WOW is all I can say! $34.99 at Ulta BUT it was super easy to apply for my 1st time ever. My nails feel strong af and I can tell they'll last for quite awhile. Its like having acrylic nails on!! The starter kit was $39.99 but Ulta did have A $ off $10 or more coupon. I WILL be back for more

when I tried it the first time I had no issues. Redoing my nails today and i had to replace the brush for the base coat TWICE. also after the top coat dried there is a white residue on some nails. overall not impressed with the kit

I got this for Christmas and I like it a lot. I've never gotten dip nails done professionally, and this is the only kit I have, so my opinion isn't really valuable lol. However, I just want to mention that the base coat is super sticky which is good and it's supposed to be, but be careful when you close the bottle that you don't get too much access polish on the rim or it will be hard to open the next time. This isn't really the brand's fault, and besides that I have no complaints!
Such a disappointment
Britt from Tallahassee, FL
I was super excited to try this kit and had seen it recommended for diy beginners. I bought this kit and the Color Dip mixing kit. I do like all the colors and the items included with the kids; however, other than the powders, nothing seems made of good quality to last more than 3 or 4 uses. The top coat I received was completely unusable and would not open. Once my husband finally got the little plastic piece out, it appeared that everything has dried up. I couldn't actually ever see a brush in it. I will be returning for a refund.
Doesn't last even a week
Tina from Rochester NH
I have used DIP for two Time now and both times it has not even lasted a week before it started to chip. The nails feel nice and strong and look shiny after done but it does take almost an hour to do. So if it doesnt even last a week or two weeks its not worth it. I do not recommend this particular brand.
So impressed with this!!
Payton from Atlanta, GA
If you love getting your nails done but do not like paying $60 a month for it, this kit is a must have! I love having my nails done, but I can't afford the upkeep and also hate painting my nails at home all the time because I hate chipped polish. This kit was super easy, especially if you have painted your nails or are familiar with the dip process at the salons. This is such a game changer!!
Wont buy again.

The base coat brush clumped after one use. Brush cleaner isn't that great. The top coat dried completely shut so when I went to use it the cap broke off and can no longer be used.
