Most Helpful Positive Review Found MY Foundation!!!!
I was loosing hope in finding a foundation that was exactly my color and that did not break me out! I also wanted a foundation that did not transfer to my husbands shirt and that i didnt not look oily in! I know i thought I would never found it! But i just did!!!! Im so happy! I didnt even know almay existed! Haha! But one day looking online i saw it and researched it a lot and i ended up buying it and ahhhhhhh i love it!!!! The color buff is my exact color! Im fair to light and very yellow and this does it! I had colorstay before and it broke me out horribly... so i switched to this and this is the only foundation and when i take it off my skin doesnt look red! Its weird! I guess i thought that that was what foundations just did but no! Now i know that my skin can feel good even after taking off my foundation!!! I cannot say enough good things about it! I hope this never stops selling!
Most Helpful Critical Review Not what I expected..
I use this with the matching Blemish Healing concealer because without it I get no coverage at all. I suppose it's good to use since I have very oily, acne-prone skin. It doesn't do a good job at keeping my face matte during the day and it makes my face look patchy mostly on my chin when it wears away later in the day.
It feels really heavy on my face and I typically wear full coverage makeup that doesn't feel as thick as this does.
I would only recommend it because using other foundations when you have acne-prone skin can be a game of roulette really and you never know what will break you out. This certainly does nothing of the sort and won't break your budget, though it's a little pricy for the poor quality.
They have good skin tones, they match me at least but if you don't like thick makeup this is NOT for you.

Thick! - but blends well. Great coverage.
I'm 54 yrs old and have oily/combonation skin with big pores and acne so I'm always looking for makeup with good coverage that won't break me out. This seems to be the perfect stuff for me so far (been using for a couple of weeks now)
Best foundation ever
Ally from Lubbock, Tx
Not only does it have great coverage and is amazing for acne, it applies so evenly and makes your skin look naturally flawless! My advice is to apply the product with a beauty blender! Overall an amazing product!
This is amazing!

I've been searching around trying to find a liquid foundation I'll like and I believe I scored! This foundation went on so smooth, matched my skin tone perfectly, my skin felt hydrated, lasted more than 14 hours and looked great all day. I bought the porcelain/ivory color and it dried great to my skin tone. It didn't feel like I had anything on all day, my skin felt so natural. It didn't fade, settle, rub off or pronounce my pores. I used a dewy setting spray and it looked beautiful. Also great pro! When I removed my makeup I noticed my blemishes and red skin was gone. I had been dealing with a red patch on my right cheek that constantly broke out for years. Nothing I tried got rid of it and I never knew what it was. One day with this liquid foundation and I was so happy to see after removal it was gone! I will definitely continue to use this product and recommend to others!
Acne holy grail
A Smith from LA
If you have acne, use this ish!!! It's my holy grail when I'm struggling with hormonal acne. It is a natural, light finish so it will not conceal & hide your acne but it will heal it! Which is the ultimate goal right? I use this for about a week every month & love it. I cannot use it when I'm not broke out as it's too drying though. So be mindful of the Salicylic acid percentage and your skin type before purchasing.
Feels like I'm not wearing anything great coverage

I have tried highend brands, drugstore brands, bb creams, basically everything to get a nothing feel and look but coverage for acne scars. I am in my 40s and thought this might not be for me but gave it a try anyway. It is 100% a winner! It's so lightweight but buildable if needed, it does not look cakey, it stays all day. It's a miricale in a bottle. I have normal to dry skin and it works perfect for me.
Not the product for full coverage, very streaky

Glad I didnt pay full price, very streaky. Not a good full coverage foundation
KRS from Long Beach, CA
I love this foundation! I have combination skin but mostly towards the oily side and this foundation along with the Almay loose finishing powder to set helps my skin stay oil free all day! It helped me clear my breakouts while wearing makeup. I struggled so much with finding a foundation for me and this one has helped me a lot. It does dry out your skin but wear your moisturizer before makeup and after taking off your makeup and you will be good and your makeup will look flawless.
Best foundation for acne prone skin!!!
Atlbelle87* from Atlanta, GA
I love this foundation!! Found it on sale in the store. Even, buildable coverage. Despite the salicylic acid it does not dry out my skin and by the end of the day the makeup did not smudge or run in the hot, humid southern air. Great product especially for the price point.
This ain't it
Velvet from Cincinnati
I keep trying to find the perfect foundation and coming up short. I suddenly have problem skin and don't know where to turn and thought this would be a smart move. First application was smooth and I was impressed that the coverage is actually buildable. I set with a light dust of finishing powder and my skin looked smooth. I put this to test and wore all day to work.. I was so shocked when I seen myself halfway through the day.. I always hear about foundation oxidating and it actually happened to me with this foundation.. I am very fair and ordered the lightest color. I set this and pressed into my skin upon application but after about 6 hours wear this stuff was was straight up orange and had me looking like my face melted as it had turned blotchy and settled. I mixed it up and tried this as a light base with concealer on top, really no combination I've tried will make this work. I had high hopes because of the 4 stars but this just really didn't and won't work for me.
Unless you're drenched in oil AVOID

I have Normal/combo skin and since it has 2% SA it drys my skin to absolute death. No amount of moisturizer could undo the dry cracked feeling I had after wearing this to work all day. I broke out so badly from this.
My holy grail foundation, even when I don't have acne!
AlmayFan from Chazy, NY
I have insanely oily, acne-prone skin. I tried other foundations including expensive ones from designer brands and then I found this gem. When I have breakouts, the salicylic acid helps to clear them up and they appear less red/inflamed when I take off my makeup at the end of the day. I haven't noticed a difference in preventing breakouts using this foundation, but I wasn't concerned about that. I use a beauty blender to apply and blend this foundation and it always looks incredible. The coverage is medium but buildable and has a soft matte finish. I don't notice it sliding off my face even when I don't use a foundation primer with my oily skin and I've gone 18 hours without touching up or reapplying. I will continue to re-purchase this foundation again and again regardless of whether or not I continue to have issues with acne. Almay, please do not discontinue this or make major formula changes!
Formula changed, 0.5% to 2.0% SA!
Mia from Colorado
I've been using this brand in Buff for over 6 years. My total go to and when I am breaking out I look forward to using this to dry up my acne. Not full coverage but that's what I like still show my features and freckles so it's. Or a shock when people see me barefaced. Feels good to wash off at the end of the day with no breakouts and inflammation, actually helped me stay clear. Anyways, a couple months ago I ran out and was trying to find it but was having a hard time. Didn't realize they changed their image. It didn't say new look or formula on their new label so I expected it would apply and work the same way.
I work part time so those are days I apply makeup. I noticed by the end of the day my makeup has been dried out and cracking which shouldn't happen because my off days I stay moisturized. And I'll have a clogged pore and irritated spots every time by the end of the day! Never been so happy to wash it off.
I looked up why and apparently they upped the salicylic acid from 0.5 - 2.0%. This messes up with my skincare regimen and causing irritation. It's frustrating because the company didn't address the change in the product. I didn't bother to search up what else may have changed, so I just tossed it in the trash. Back to the drawing board on finding the perfect foundation !!
Also on here Ulta site, it is still listed as 0.5% SA showing the NEW label image which is false.
MY SKIN HAS NEVER LOOKED WORSE
Lori from Raleigh nc
This foundation totally dried out my skin and caused me to have the worst acne breakout of my life. Now i'm trying to undue the damage it caused. Please don't put this junk on your face. I usually have mild combination skin and this foundation made my face literally explode with adult acne. Look elsewhere.
No from Salem, Oregon
Very drying, crusts up orange around my mouth and smile lines, doesn't want to build without breaking up around my nose which is slightly oily. Coverage is nice but looks dry as a desert. Stays on pretty well even when laying on a pillow. I don't think it's really worth the money. I like very natural looks but need the coverage.
I will not buy this product again.

Almay's foundations have went down hill in the last couple of years. Do not like the coverage.

I was hoping this would have a but more coverage, but this is very light, lighter than tinted moisturizers I own. Shade range sucks, obviously but the shade 99 matched decently to my extremely pale skin. Don't think I'd be wearing this often, maybe in the summer since it is pretty lightweight.
May work for some but. . .
No thank you from Orlando, FL
The consistency is thin, and offers medium coverage if built up. I applied it in the morning, and by early noon I did a check in to see the foundation had broken up a lot around cheeks. The shade range is limiting, so the color wasn't an exact match, and I was left with streaks that were on the orange side for my skin. This foundation wasn't irritating, so that is true to it's name. However, it doesn't seem to be suitable for a range of skin types. I'm disappointed, and exchanged it for their Revlon color stay- I wasn't over the moon for the price of this product anyway.

So I'm pretty impressed with this Almaty foundation!
I have acne prone skin with dark spots, & my acne has been flaring up worse around my jawline area. I was using high end foundation for a long time, but am sick of the price tag that comes along with it.
So I went & tried a bunch of different foundations, & was looking for a foundation that is not pore clogging (to help reduce pimples) but also give some coverage. Almays Clear Complexion Makeup definitely has been the best ive tried!it gives about medium coverage & you can build it up to be a little more. I tried applying with a beauty blender in the beginning, but it did not apply correctly. I switched back to a round kabuki brush and it does an amazing job. I have already seen a difference in my skin from using it in the last few days. So happy to find this!

This foundation just didn't work for me. It seemed to gather in my pores and worst of all it made me break out. I think it was too harsh for my skin and irritated it. It also didn't last very long with my oily skin. Will be returning.
Wouldn't buy again

Wasn't impressed with this product. Seemed to "separate" after an extended period of time on the skin. Returned it.
Horrible new formula - acid content upped from 0.5% to 2%!

This exact same thing happened to me - I'm trying to see if I can get a hold of the old stuff
copied from below:
This has been my go-to foundation since high school (in my early 30s now). It didn't break me out; provided good, buildable coverage; a great color match; a matte finish that helped control oil; and lasted most of the day on my oily skin. It practically checked all my boxes. However, I picked up a new bottle 1-2 months ago and almost immediately noticed some differences in the formula and overall appearance---at least a shade darker than the ivory 100 that I've used forever; oxidizes upon drydown; sheerer coverage that doesn't layer as well; separates and becomes blotchy on my face after ~4-5 hours of wear, regardless of setting powder used. The main (major) disappointment for me, though, is that within 2-3 days of wearing it, I began to break out pretty badly, especially in places that rarely break out. I also noticed that after washing my makeup off at night, my skin just started looking... bad. Clogged pores, uneven tone, rough texture... my skin looked and felt like sandpaper. This led me to inspect the labels on the old and new bottles of the foundation, and, lo and behold, they have upped the salicylic acid content from 0.5% to 2.0%! This increase may not seem like much, but for people who regularly use skincare products containing acids/chemicals (like myself), this foundation could possibly interfere with those products and cause reactions/irritation/breakouts. From what I could tell, there was no label on the bottle indicating a new/improved formula, so I wanted to point this out in case it could help those using acids or those with sensitive skin. It's such a bummer that Almay has changed the formula for this foundation so much lately; I feel like the new one doesn't really hold a candle to the older formulation. So, after 15ish years, I'm on the frustrating hunt for a new foundation. Thanks, Almay

Claims the salicylic acid percentage is "MAXIMUM STRENGTH", yet it only contains 0.6% ?????? Maximum strength would be 2.0%... Since I am someone who struggles with adult-onset hormonal acne, I know that there needs to be a higher percentage to actually be helpful. At least for me. But claiming this product is maximum strength SA is not true and is very deceiving to consumers.

bought to use cause i have acne prone skin and it burned my face. it hurt so bad. please dont use if you have sensitive skin unless they change the formula.
