I was hesitant about trying this because of the price, but I am glad I did. I use it each morning, and even though I don't need SPF at night, I use it before bed. The moisture lasts all day and it's great to wear alone, or underneath lip gloss and lipstick. I definitely will be purchasing this again.
I purchased this product. Like many other reviewers, I love the color and texture of this product. I purchased a set with the regular balm and the rose colored one. It makes my lips feel nice and I don't mind the herbal/medicinal way it smells. The reason I am giving it a poor overall rating is that the taste of it on your lips is really bad. It may be the lemon oil or it may be the SPF they use but to me it tastes very bitter like when you accidentally get sunblock in your mouth. I will use up the ones I have since I paid for them but unfortunately the taste issue will keep me from purchasing or recommending to others. It seems several other people feel the same about the taste. Hopefully Kiehl's will change the formulation to improve the issue.

I use lip treatment all the time because my lips are dry. Love the extra benefit of choices of colors. Will try a different color next time! It was expensive!

I've tried many tinted lip balms, and this one is by far the best! Naturally nude is great for every day. It's also nice on the cheeks/ eyelids for an effortless, no-makeup, dewy look!
Buttersticks are going to be included in the gift bags I give my bridesmaids... Spreading the love!

Love this and highly recommend. I have at least 20 lip balm products that I periodically use because my lips stay super dry. This is by far the Ultimate best. I have now ordered 2 additional colors of this same product. A MUST have for your lips.

I'm a flight attendant and red lipstick is a must for me. However, my lips get so dry at work but with this tinted lip balm I get the best of both worlds. I get a red tint and hydration. This is a game changer!

I know that many of us are experiencing this product differently, but I can't live without it. I use Touch of Berry and Nude and I buy the Clear with and without SPF for the entire family (surfers) to use. I find the taste and smell very pleasant and it does not interfere with drinking or eating, personally. In fact, I find this brand much less offensive on the rim of my reusable water bottles, straws, etc. as I sip throughout the day in my house/car. The SPF protects very well.

Super smooth and feels great on. Love that it has SPF in it.

I wanted to love it, but it made my lips feel dry. The coral color was subtle and nice though.

Love Everything about this Lip Product! Especially the sunscreen factor, I didn't find anything bad about it

Like others, I notice an unpleasant aftertaste, though it is not as bad as other SPF balms. It makes it hard to drink water while this product is on your lips. But I chose the version with SPF specifically for using when I am outside. To obviate the bad taste, I chew gum, suck on mints, or layer it under a better tasting balm. I prefer this formula over the Fresh Sugar balms - the Kiehl's butterstick is smoother, less heavy, and has a nice sheen.

I like the product and the way it wears and looks, but the ingredient list did not list the active ingredient sunscreen. I thought that kiehl's would use a natural sunscreen given their other natural ingredients, so I ordered before I got an answer to my question regarding the sunscreen. I am disappointed and discouraged to use the product now.

I constantly use lip balm. Constantly. I hate dry and chapped lips. I love color on my lips, but lip sticks don't moisturize well, and lip gloss doesn't absorb. Pretty much, I've been conceded to just have neutral lips in exchange for moisturized lips. HOWEVER....Kiehls did it! This is moisturizing like a like balm, but also has a pop of color! LOVE it! The color also isn't too much, but it is noticeable. I am a convert!

I love these butterstick lip treatment like crazy. I love all the shades and it works really great but I hate the after taste. :(

Love this because it gives just the right amount of color without it making it seem like too much. Perfect for an everyday look.

I was gifted this lip balm for Christmas in 2019, in the "Pop of Peony" shade. I *love* the feel of it on my lips and the color, however, the smell is strange and unpleasant. Everything about this lip treatment is wonderful and it would be perfect, if only the smell was more likable. It may just be my preferences, who knows, but I do recommend this product because of texture and protection, as long as the scent doesn't bother you.

Not sure why there are complaints about an after taste. There is none. Slight light lemon taste is all I experienced. The color I chose (Nude) was wrong but that's not Kiehl's fault. Plan On ordering a new color. I also purchased the Butter masque which I use all the time. Again no after taste also not sticky or greasy.

I only liked the color not liked the smell nor the texture.

This Lip Treatment has a terrible aftertaste to it. It is bitter and the taste lingers until you brush your teeth or eat something. It has a pretty color, but it is not something I will be using again due to the taste it leaves.

If you definitely want a sunscreen, I can see being pleased with this. But for everyday wear, I wanted to love this (I like a lot of Kiehl's products and I love lip balms and tints), but I just didn't. I felt like it tasted sunscreeny and made kind of a thick sunscreeny layer on my lips. I did not feel like it hydrated my lips or improved their texture, though. I will wear it when I'm out hiking or really want a sunscreen at the beach or whatever, but I'm looking for something more delicate and pretty for an everyday go-to. Also, it's kind of heavy in my purse - the packaging seems heavier than it needs to be.

I have shades Naturally Nude and Simply Rose. Naturally Nude is a orangey brownish nude - perfect for when I want a more neutral, toned-down lip. Simply Rose is a reddish-pink that gives the lips a natural flush, almost like you just ate strawberries. These are sheer with a buttery sheen. They make the lips appear soft and moisturized. Great for those 'no makeup' makeup days. If you have severely chapped lips, I'd try something a bit more hydrating. In my opinion, these aren't any more moisturizing than a typical balm.

I love this butterstick. Clinique discontinued my favorite color, Guava Stain, and I have bought about 50 different lip products trying to match the color. This is the closest one yet and it moisturizes very well.

I am so happy with this purchase! it gives subtle color, hydrates my lips, and keeps them from getting sunburned! I do a lot of hiking and keep the naturally nude in my backpack to protect me from the desert sun in socal. Totally recommend!

I love everything about this butterstick. It?s extremely hydrating and it lasts unlike most chapsticks. The color is perfect but not overwhelming. I even like the scent and taste of the lemon butter.
Snandy from California
I would not consider this a lip treatment. When my lips were extremely dry, this alone did not fix it. It provided decent moisture, but most importantly, did not aggravate my dried lips. It's a fairly solid stick, and not greasy. I got Simply Rose, and it does provide a fair amount of color.
