I used to only buy a pink brush cleaner from a well-known three letter brand. It's not exactly on the "affordable" end of things but it's always been a necessity. I found that I could use that product to either do a deep clean in the sink, or put it in a spray bottle and do a spot clean. So, when I saw this, I assumed this would be the same since it was already in a spray bottle. So, the first time I used it, I sprayed it as I would with my other cleaner, as well as the homemade cleaner I made. When I went to swirl my brush on the hand towel to get the product out and wipe it off, the brush lathered up. So, this already was a much-different formulation than the one I was used to. I decided not to rinse it, just so I could test what it would do with my brush (this wasn't an expensive brush, although a nice one, so I wasn't worried about the potential because I have many backups of it). When the brush was completely dried the next day, it had that still-wet appearance, the way the bristles kind of cling together when they're wet, so at first I thought this wasn't going to be a good thing. But, I picked the brush up and swirled it on my hand to loosen up the bristles and they went back to their normal shape and appearance and actually went closer to a new appearance- no "frizziness" like some of my brushes do. This tells me that the brush was conditioned really well since it smoothed the bristles back out to normal. So, as far as the ingredients, it seems to have good conditioners in it.
As far as how well it cleaned, it did pretty well, but not perfectly. I've definitely used other cleaners that perform better at getting the makeup that's really worked into your brush out. This is the reason for knocking off one star.
The smell is a medicinal lavender smell. Not chemically, but an organic lavender scent, which has a medicinal (could be confused for chemical) scent to it. I love all lavender oil scents from medicinal to more floral, so I enjoy the scent.
This brush cleaner is a brush shampoo that is applied to a wet brush, massaged into the bristles, and then rinsed out with water. It works very well for cleaning powder product brushes but isn't as effective for liquid product brushes. My eyeshadow brushes always look like new after cleaning with this (instant clean!) but unfortunately my liquid foundation brush never looks 100% clean using this (and because I don't wear foundation every day, I clean the brush every time I apply foundation.) I haven't tried to clean a sponge or other applicator with this product, but I imagine it would be the same result (powder would come out but not liquid.) Also, the smell of this product is pretty awful. I will probably continue to use this bottle until it is finished, but I won't repurchase. I'll be on the hunt for something that can actually effectively clean my foundation brush.

This melted away the makeup off my brushes to the point they looked brand new 😍😍 totally buying more for inventory

It didn't even clean the makeup brushes. I returned them

I had to spray a lot of product on my brushes and they still weren't clean.

This is great for a quick clean on makeup brushes. Not so great for sponges. I feel like sponges need constant wringing out and lots of soap.
Shelbs from Florida
It works for me and my brushes and sponges

Instructions on the clear bottle are extremely hard to read. I know this isn't rocket science, just sayin!

This cleaned my brushes so well and brought most of them back to life, even the ones covered in concealer, foundation, powder, eyeshadow and highlighter.

Cleans my brush perfect even my make plate for my foundation

I wouldn't recommend. I don't know why they made this where you have to rinse it, it defeats the whole purpose of having a spray cleaner. It's easier to just shampoo your brushes if you use this. I would recommend the S brand brush cleaner (it's the best) or the It Cosmetics brush cleaner.

I've tried other brands and they just dont work as well. This is hands down the best around. You see the makeup coming off the brushes. Great smell. Leaves brushes soft and clean. I use with a brush exfoliating mitt.

Now I am a pretty big clean freak with my make up tools I won't lie. Are usually clean them every couple days. This cleaner works extremely well but some times you have to use quite a bit of the cleaner to get all the makeup out. For the price though that's a small concern. Overall very happy with this ☺️

Used it for years and love it.

Really love this product!! Takes out the product really well, leaving it clean and soft afterwards. However, it's not good for washing out concealer from concealer and flat brushes. I had to use actual soap to clean it out. Also, I don't like how you have to get really good aim to get the product on the brush because of how the spray applicator is designed. But it's a really good product and the lavender smell is so good, so I would definitely buy again.

I've been experimenting with bolder color pallets, so having a really good brush cleanser has been great!

I was a little skeptical at first but within the first 30 seconds of using I was amazed on how well it worked. It left my beauty sponges and brushes looking brand new. I already ordered 2 more bottles😁

I sprayed each brush a couple times while cleaning and it cleaned mostly all the makeup off, except it doesn't clean the harder brushes as well.

I just suggest to buy this only if your not in a hurry because it takes time for it to clean a brush and cleanse it off. Smells good but i prefer using 70% alcohol because you spray the brushes it cleans disinfects and dries the brush fast.

I like that it cleans my brushes well - BUT you need a bowl or something to catch the excess liquid
Brenda from Jackson, NJ
I like your brush cleaner. Reasonably priced & does the job.

Does absolutely nothing. Also it made me breakout so bad. It didn't clean my brushes at all. Not worth it.
