    Comments about Dermalogica Breakout Control:

I use this every day, twice a day, after I've washed my face and before I moisture. This product has made the biggest difference in my acne. More than any other product (including proactiv). It's gentle and effective. You can see over time how my cystic acne just faded away. I can leacve the house without make up and feel confident that my skin looks good. It works by changing the bacteria living on your face, which is kind of awesome. The only con is its pricy. But I always fit it in my budget.

I switched from my 10% benzoyle peroxide serum to this breakout control serum to try and avoid the drying effects of the BP. I haven't seen a huge change in my acne, which means it works just as well as BP. I have cystic acne.

The reason I will use this instead of the other serum is because it DOES NOT dry out my skin!! So therefore, my skin as improved and it is the better option.

I switched out my high concentrate benzoyle peroxide to use this while i'm pregnant. So far, (a few weeks of use) my skin has not gotten any worse and it is a lot more hydrated. I would recommend this to anyone suffering with adult acne like cystic acne. It doesn't dry out my skin like the peroxide did, and that is a huge plus.

              Comments about Dermalogica Breakout Control:

I bought this after applying a $2.99 pore cleansing charcoal mask and breaking out in the worst case of acne I have ever had. I have had breakouts for most of my life, but never experienced regular acne until after menopause. I have a patch of acne that appears on one cheek consistently --things would work for awhile...them, bam...it was back. I purchased a travel sized Skin Clearing Wash and this product to clear up the debacle of the cheapo mask (never again!) --I have been using Age Smart products that I love, and figured if anyone could save me, it was Dermalogica. Within a few days, the blemishes had dried up, and no new acne had appeared. I have had some cystic acne in the past--since I started using this product - ZERO cystic acne! I now follow the following regime, and it works well for me - At night: Pre-Cleanse and Skin Resurfacing Cleanser most nights--Pre-Cleanse and Daily Microfoliant twice per week. I put on the Breakout Control on my problem areas, then when dry, use Intensive Moisture Balance. In the morning-- I rinse my face and apply more moisturizer. My skin is clearer than it has been in a long time.

                • Q:

I was recommended the Dermalogica clearing skin wash and I really like the product, however I don't know what daily regimen to follow. I only have acne on my forehead and I have an oily T-zone. My skin can be somewhat sensitive. Should I use this product? Which moisturizer should I use—oil control or oil free matte or a different one? Is there anything else I should use? Thanks!

I have very sensitive, dry/combination acne-prone skin. I like the ultra calming line for the sensitivity and redness but then my skin has more breakouts when I use it. I have yet to find a combination of products that trays all my problems together. Suggestions? Can I use the breakout control with the ultra calming line? Or woild switxhing to the daily microfoliant or different cleanser help?

Hi. I am confused about when to use this product. In some previous responses it is recommended to use this product last, so that it doesn't rub off however in other responses it said to use before moisturizer. Which is the best way to use this product and when? During AM or PM? Thanks!

You can use Breakout Control am and pm as needed. If you are treating a problematic area we recommend applying it to an area under moisturizer. If you are spot treat a specific breakout it is best to apply it last so it doesn't spread.

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. If your skin is more on the oily side we recommend using the clearing mattifier because it will help to control shine, clear breakouts and reduce congestion. It may be used as a primer as well. It is used underneath your moisturizer. It contains one of the same ingredients of the Medicated Clearing Gel, Salicylic Acid. The Breakout Control helps to clear and prevent breakouts without over-drying the skin. It contains natural antibacterial agents, including Lactobacillus Ferment to help clear the skin.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
