Most Helpful Positive Review Perfect for no-makeup days!
I was looking for the perfect face SPF for a LONG time. I've tried a lot... and I was looking for one that was versatile that I could wear under makeup, or on it's own. This is it! There are a ton of YouTube videos of beauty gurus reviewing this product, and after watching plenty of those I decided to purchase.
My favorite way to wear it is to apply it after cleansing my face with CeraVe hydrating cleanser, applying my niacinamide from The Ordinary, and a thin layer of CeraVe moisturizer from the tub. I just use my fingers to apply it all over my face and then a brush to even it out since it does have a little bit of coverage. It feels super moisturizing when you apply it, but avoid lips and eyebrows and hair because it will stick to those areas. That is why I use the brush to apply it more thinly around those areas.
I have mostly been wearing it on its own since I haven't been leaving the house except to go for walks outside, and it seriously looks as good as some BB/CC creams do. It evens out the skin tone amazingly, and I am pretty fair and the tone matches well. It does look orange when you squeeze it out, but applies and matches well.
I have also tried applying my ColourPop Pretty Fresh tinted moisturizer (my favorite) over the top, and let me tell you - these two products work AMAZINGLY together. My skin looks flawless, and even more so after some concealer and powder. This is my new Holy Grail combination. I like a 'no-makeup' look, and this is perfect. It wears really well throughout the day too, but don't forget to reapply SPF.
Cons - the only thing I don't love is the smell. It has a self-tanner smell to it almost, but it goes away once you put it on your skin. It also sticks to the skin in between my eyebrows since my eyebrows are so grown out (quarantine life), but if I'm freshly waxed or plucked it looks great.

This is extra disappointing because it's close to being perfect! My gripes are that it's pretty drying and I moisturize SUPER WELL. I have pretty normal skin too, not too dry lol andddd it's a little too dark, and gets even darker when I reapply. I would rather look a little pale from a white cast than ORANGE lol and my last gripe which is a pretty big one, is that it irritates the heck out of my eyes. I'm talking watery all day, and puffy at end of day. If that was the only negative though, I could use a different sunscreen around my eyes, then concealer to blend it with this. This is also not a huge deal, but I lost the lid today because it has a screw off lid. A flip cap would be SO much better! The plus side is it has a beautiful, matte finish that looks like you set it and it does a great job of blurring pores, It also smells great.
I'll stick with Sun Bum mineral or Bare Republic! I think I'll go wash it off my face now and do a moisturizing mask lol

I have been searching for the perfect sunscreen forever and I finally found it. Lightweight, no white cast, not oily or sticky. It doesn't make my dry skin or eczema worse and it blends in super easily. My sister has medium Indian skin and I have a skin tone quite a few shades lighter than hers. This sunscreen works well for both of us (it goes a little dark on me but I'm okay with that). Taking one star off for the price (kind of expensive for how much product you get) and how difficult it was to find. It was sold out everywhere, including the website for months. If you have any hesitations about buying this sunscreen, go for it!
Tenacious and matte

This is the longest wearing sunscreen I know. I use it mostly on my body in the summer months when I garden for hours at a time. It stays on in 200 degree heat. I remove it by first using an oil cleanser, then follow with regular shower gel, SOAP etc. It dries down matte so not s good product for my dry face. It 8s one of the most effective and budget friendly mineral SPF available. Like that it now comes in 3 stages, too.

I use this as my sunscreen and last step in my skincare routine but I would also recommend for someone who wants a light coverage moisturizer/BB cream/foundation! I apply a dime size amount to each of my cheeks, forehead, chin, and neck then just blend in with my fingers. It dries down very nicely, to an almost powdery finish but not drying. This doesn't make my rosacea flare up, irritate my very sensitive skin, or emphasize my dry patchy skin. I absolutely LOVE it and would HIGHLY recommend over and over and over again! Will repurchase until the end of time!!
My favorite sunscreen
Lisa from NY
I love this sunscreen because it's mineral based, and it doesn't leave a white cast! It's great for the beach or pool or golf, it kind of evens out of skin tone but I also don't care to wear makeup those days. I use on my whole body, not just my face, and my kids too. Just be careful, as it did stain my sons shirt.
Rich to deep skin tones
Taj from New York
I have done a lot of research for a tinted sunscreen for darker skin tones, which is pretty much impossible to find, and I came across this. I have brown skin that gets darker in the summer. I used the rich to deep skin tones sunscreen and it's just a bit too dark. It leaves a purply/whitish look on my skin. It doesn't look too bad once fully rubbed in so I figure I just have to go to the shade before this one. It goes on smooth and matte which works because I put on vitamin e oil before sunscreen. I also looked up the ingredients before buying on cosdna and the ingredients work for acne prone/sensitive skin.
My holy grail spf
Would recommend from Illinois
The best sunscreen I've used on my face, and can't beat the price. Goes on smooth, nice matte finish (I usually just add some blush and highlighter and call it a day). Has consistently kept my skin on my face lighter than the rest of my body so I'd say it's doing to job of protecting pretty well.
blends perfectly into my skin!

I love this sunscreen so so much. Not expensive, and very effective! The tint also blends perfectly with my skin tone. If I was darker, this tint may be too light. This brand should offer more tinting options for darker skin toned people. Other than that, this sunscreen is marvelous!
Love the feel, hate the sunburn

I thought I'd found my miracle sunscreen. It's mineral based, feels lovely on the skin, and has a tint to avoid a white cast. However, I've burned three times while wearing it. I use about a quarter sized dollop to cover my entire face, so I'm sure I'm applying enough. At first I thought I must've wiped it off somehow, but now I realize it just isn't effective for my skin. If it can't handle a casual walk through a tree filled park, it's not a sunscreen I can trust. I've never burned on walks with any other sunscreen - even with a lower SPF.
Fair to light color
Swill from Indiana
This sunscreen is pretty amazing for the price point. It can be a little drying after a few hours but it stays put. If you get the lightest shade and find that it's too dark I found that putting a drop of any other mineral sunscreen with a major white cast in there will help. A drop of another sunscreen also helps with the overall dryness of the product and look. It comes off really well with any cleansing balm or oil.
Okay for tan skin
Sunny J from Chicago
I was looking for an SPF with some coverage that didn't leave my skin white, however it's very sheer and offers little to no coverage. I use it under my makeup though and I think it works well for SPF and to smooth out the skin.

This made me look ghostly. I'm a lighter skinned black woman and the tint did me no justice. The finish was nice and the perfect kind of matte I was looking for, but it was generally unwearable , so that doesn't even matter. I was so excited to be able to wear this without applying any foundation or separate BB creams, but it made me look like Casper, so no can do.
Best budget tinted sunscreen
Andrea O from AZ
I have oily skin and this is great since it has a matte finish and doesn't leave an oily/greasy look. It feels super lightweight in my face and the light fair tone matches perfect with my skin tone. My absolute favorite this summer! I don't find it hard to remove even when a apply various layers throughout the day (I use a balm as first cleanser). And the price is incredible I've tried other okay tinted sunscreens for half of the OZ and double the price.

Rich tone did not match my complexion. I'm not sure which rich to deep tone complexion it will fit. It felt drying while on my skin which was more apparent after I removed it. I appreciated their attempt. The spf is 50 and it's a mineral sunscreen.
Nice matter coverage with great spf
Paige from Oregon
When you first apply this product, it is very sheer and shiny. But when it dries, it turns matte and provides coverage and even color to the face. I keep it in my purse to reapply throughout the day for moisture and spf. The only reason I took a star off is this stuff does not stay out with my covid face mask. When I take my mask off the product color is all over it. It would be nice if it could dry a little more and stay put.
Not my favorite
OSUJen from Fernandina Beach, FL
I really liked the look of the product on my skin and the fact that it was long lasting. However, it definitely caused me to breakout every time I used it. It's also hard to wash off. The only thing that would get it off my skin completely was an oil based cleansing balm.
Wanted to love this

I found this really drying. Even when added a moisturizer or hyaluronic acid it still dried my skin and made me break out
Good daily sunscreen
Sunscreen user from Chicago, il
I have this sunscreen for one of my daily wears(I alternate with sun bum face 50 for under makeup). It isn't greasy (looking at you cotz), dries down matte, and the light color matches well. I have dry skin, leaning towards super dry thanks to a particular oral acne medication known for super harsh side effects. It isn't the most cosmetically elegant, but if doesn't irritate my skin, doesn't burn if near my eyes, and is great for if I need to make a quick run out and about but don't want makeup. I noticed I don't get pilling with this one either. Other SPFs I have to be careful to not layer with certain skin care products or it will come right off. Also the price for the amount of sunscreen you get is a great deal. It is taking me forever to use all of it.

This product is absolutely worth trying! It glides over skin, great sun protection and it dries down to a beautiful natural finish. Unfortunately my skin (which is ultra sensitive) doesn't like an ingredient and I broke out. I even gave it a second try hoping it was something else that caused my breakout cause it's that amazing! Its worth a try, hopefully you don't have the same issue i did.
Doesn't bother my sensitive skin!
MJC from Sudbury, MA
I use this as my last step before heading out, so far this is the only sunscreen that hasn't aggravated my super sensitive skin so this is a winner for me. Will definitely be repurchasing. I also like that it comes in different color tints so I can get pretty close to my skin color.

The shade didn't match my skin tone. It's drying. The deep tone isn't universally flattering.
Thank goodness for more shades
Jammy from CA - California
Medium Tan is about NC 35 is my guess. I'm NC 25-30 so I mix this with the AG untinted SPF 50 to customize the shade. The tone is definitely neutral, I'd prefer more warmth, but it's probably more universal this way It's just a tint, no real coverage. Stays matte. Stays put. I've been using it instead of foundation this summer even though there's no coverage. But I'm wearing a mask all the time anyway so it works for me. Love that it's affordable.
Jackie from LA
I really love the formula of this... but if you're actually fair even the lightest shade can make you look orange. That's what it did to me and I'm not even as pale as I usually am cause it's summer right now. Bummer. Going to return it and try something else. The search for a great face physical SPF continues...
Actually works for pale skin
Sara from Indy
The fair to light tint is ACTUALLY fair. For reference I wear the lightest cool tones foundation in every line and this really works for me. It blends away into almost nothing. It isn't orange and gross like other "fair" sunscreens. Please try this is you are really pale.
Makes you look dead, doesn't work under makeup
helloxjello from California
Pros: high spf, price
Cons: weird color, dull dead finish, bad initial odor (like an armpit/apple scent), doesn't work under cream or liquid makeup
I'm a daily spf and serum and moisturizer girl, going for a natural glowy skin look. I only got this tinted one because the other mineral face spfs available at the store were lower spf and I wanted better protection. That's about the only positive thing about it. The worst thing is the matte finish - it drains absolutely every bit of natural glow in your skin. This made me look dull and dead and accentuated my deep blue and green under eye veins so that they looked more like dark circles. It also was not comfortable on the skin, alone or under makeup, despite how much serum and moisturizer was used first. Feels dry and initially stings. I will be returning this.
Feel: feels weird after settling on the skin, almost drying. I easily get rashes from products and after three trials with this, there has been no extreme reaction or bumps or redness, but an uncomfortable slight initial sting that has made me wash it off each time. The feeling of it sitting on the skin just isn't pleasant. I don't want to feel anything on my face.
Color/coverage: I'm very light, pale skinned with neutral undertones and visible veins. I got the shade fair to light. It is very very pink. After rubbing in and letting it sit, some of the harshness of the tint wears down, but it still leaves a slight coloring. Not terrible looking color-wise, but not close to my natural tone. Despite the tint and matte finish, this is zero coverage and highly transferable.
In terms of makeup: I don't wear full face foundation - just concealer and blush/bronzer/highlighter. This absolutely did not work well with concealer or liquid or creme products on top. Powder blush sat ok, but I can't imagine foundation working on this. Makeup gets cakey and won't blend out. This product also transfers very easily. I have not tried a setting spray over it, so I can't say if that would help anything.
Lynette from MI
This is my FAVORITE mineral face sunscreen. It soaks in quickly, leaves a beautiful matte finish and works so wonderfully under makeup. It's literally perfect for me!
