Comments about Australian Gold Botanical SPF 50 Lotion:

I wish we could give half stars, because I would rate this at 3.5 stars. I really like the Australian Gold facial mineral sunscreen, which is tinted and wears beautifully under makeup, so I wanted to try their body sunscreen. The first thing I noticed is that, unlike the facial sunscreen, this is scented. I would have preferred it to be fragrance free, but the scent is not obnoxious and seems to fade fairly quickly. The second thing I noticed is that it has no tint, and it does initially go on white. It does seem to rub in well and lose the whiteness, and while it works ok for me, I wonder how well it would work on darker skin tones than mine (I have a light skin tone, although I am currently self-tanned). I've only ever used this for day-to-day activities. It seems to work well for that. I haven't tried it in a beach setting, or for being outside all day, or for outdoor workouts, so I'm not sure yet how well it would hold up in those situations. But for day-to-day normal activities (and long commutes), it appears to work well. If I were to offer any advice to improve this product, I would say it would be nice to have a tint to counteract the initial white cast and it would be better if it didn't have a scent.

Comments about Australian Gold Botanical SPF 50 Lotion:

My dermatologist suggested that I use only physical (mineral) sunscreens instead of the readily available chemical ones since I have already had several skin cancer spots removed. I had tried several that were very challenging to spread onto my skin evenly or that gave me a ghostly white look all over my body when I went to the beach. I saw this in a drug store in Florida and decided to try it. I LOVE IT!! It protects my super pale skin well, spreads easily so I am properly protected, and rubs in enough that I am not totally white. Once I discovered that Ulta carried it, I no longer have to search for it. I generally buy more than one at a time so I never run out.

Comments about Australian Gold Botanical SPF 50 Lotion:

After using the Australian Gold Facial Sunscreen and loving it, I decided to try the formula for this rest of the body. While it does offer good protection from sunburn/damage, and it's not greasy or sticky, it unfortunately has a very strong and heavy fragrance that is difficult to ignore. The fragrance reminds me of old perfume not pina coladas like what most other suncreens usually smell like. It also caused breakouts on my husband's skin when he used it while golfing. This was disappointing after being so happy with the facial formula. :( I gave it 2 stars because the texture and performance of this product are good, but the perfume and acne breakouts are deal breakers.

it smells good. it feels great! but anyone with even an olive or a tanned skin tone will notice the lavender hue from the minearls instantly!
Had to place over my foundation because my face was much yellower than my body!

Comments about Australian Gold Botanical SPF 50 Lotion:

This sunscreen feels and smells great, and it offers great protection from the sun. It's easy to rub on, but it will leave a little bit of a white cast. Also, if you don't rub it in well or miss a spot it will stay all day, so be careful.

This is my second product from this band thar I buy, I first purchased the face tinted one which I really liked. So I thought in trying this one and I love it! It is not oily and smells like a sweet perfume, not like swimming pool smell like the common brands! It is hard to take off from the skin which I believe it is from been a physical sunscreen. Although It is not that bad. I will be purchasing it in the future.

      Pina Colada Sunscreen!

Comments about Australian Gold Botanical SPF 50 Lotion:

I'm currently living in the Caribbean and it's been hard to find a water resistant, mineral sunscreen for the body. Since I love the tinted face version, I purchased this product when I came home to visit. I love how it's not greasy and has an almost matte finish to it. It does have a strong pina colada smell when first applying but I don't notice it later. I apply a little at a time so it's easier to rub in and less likely to show up white. The sand doesn't stick to my skin as much compared to other sunscreen lotions. I use an exfoliating glove with my body wash to get it off at the end of the day but that small trouble is worth it to me! I haven't burned or needed to reapply after a few hours swimming and laying out. I will definitely repurchase!

I like the texture and application of this sunscreen, but the fragrance is really too much. It's not a horrible smell; it's fruity and fresh smelling, but I just don't like being covered in perfume. I will return this one and get the kids version, which is fragrance free.

Hi, wonderful question! Any SPF that contains zinc oxide has the ability to cause a flashback as the ingredient actually works as a physical blocker which reflects the suns rays. Therefore, it will reflect any type of light. However, you should not experience flashback if you choose to use digital photography!

Hey Nina! Yes, the active ingredients in this product are Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. Both of these ingredients are light-reflecting so there is a chance from some flashback.
