Here's what's new to love: (1) If you aren't a "create your own palette" type but you spend half an hour figuring out what makeup to take on a trip, your prayers have been answered! Neutral bombshell? Check. Sunset babe? Check. Ocean beauty? Check. Punk diva? Check. Woodland nymph? Check. Underground vixen? Check. It's the endless magic 8-ball of makeup looks. (2) Don't let the wide array of colors overwhelm you. It's a box of crayons for your face. Think artsy and go for it! (3) The packaging is substantial, huge mirror inside. UD/Born To Run logo is glossy and embossed. A brush would have been nice given that it's made to travel, however, most folks bring their own these days and it would have made the palette packaging bigger or UD would have had to sacrifice some product. A Born To Run brush set (with different city skylines on the handles) would have been a sweet addition to the line given the travel theme. This palette has some great summer colors but has enough of a muted flow to carry you right through the fall. Pick it up to hold you off until the holiday collection drops (usually around October or so).Most Helpful Critical ReviewI wanted to love this because I love UD...but couldn'tI have been using Urban Decay products for at least 10 years now and collected a lot of their palettes. That's where my problem lies, but also where other people may love this product. The purple and the pink in this palette are HORRIBLE! They're hard to blend if they wanna come to the party at all. One of the reasons I love Urban Decay is because I LOVE their purple and pink eye shadows! I went back and swatched older palettes to compare, and sure enough...something has changed in their formulas. The oranges and browns are beautiful, but I already own the Heat palette and have a lot of similar colors in other palettes. However it does do what it's intended for, condenses a wide range of colors into one palette to make travelling easier. So rather than having to grab 4 different other palettes you only have to grab 1. That would be amazing if a. all of the colors had the same pay off and blendability and b. I travelled alot. I hate to say it, but if I were travelling somewhere this isn't the palette I'd want to bring. Because I'd still have to bring other palettes along to get all the colors I want. I'd bring along the Heat palette before this one. If oranges and browns were my go to colors, I'd keep it. But they're not so it's going back. UD...I don't know what's going on lately, but please go back to the consistent high pigments that I'm used to! Sure...there's not a lot of kick back...but I'm one of those people that doesn't mind kickback because I use loose pigments for their color pay off. I know that with high pigmentation comes kick back! If people knew how to work with higher pigmentations, there wouldn't be all the griping about kickback in reviews! There are ways to work around that! I'd rather deal with high kickback than no pigment!
