Most Helpful Positive Review compared to drybar
So I bought both the bedhead at retail price and the Drybar blow dryer brush, on sale and mostly with points. Full disclosure, I only paid $60 for the drybar, so it wasn't a huge loss to experiment with which I like. Here are my thoughts:
Bedhead wins on price for sure, though since I only paid like $60 for the drybar one I'm going to keep it because it's not *that* much more expensive and I'm curious as far as lasting, which one will keep up through time (which is TBD obvi)
Drybar wins on handle comfort. It's much smaller in diameter both in the brush and the handle than the bed head, which makes it much less heavy and comfortable to hold. I also love the square tip because it makes it super easy to notice by feel if I'm losing the angle I want.
They both have only two heat settings and a cool function, but here's where things get strange. I feel like the drybar is the same hotness, but it made my hair much frizzier the first time I used it than the bedhead. Like super frizzy! The second time I used it I switched to the lower setting when I was near my roots which helped, but makes it annoying to keep flipping between. Temp wise they feel the same, but I think drybar blows harder on high which is causing the frizz. So for blow power and heat drybar was higher but bedhead wins because more power isn't necessarily better, like standing in front of a jet engine might dry my hair fast but it'd be a mess lol
They also both dried my hair in the same amount of time, even with the more power of the drybar, probably because I had to switch to low so often to avoid frizz. So they tie here as far as time (about 8 minutes total).
I also think even though the handle was more comfortable with drybar, my hair got stuck in it a few times and that was so annoying. It's never happened with the bedhead and I think it's because it's wider.
Overall I give bedhead an 8, room for improvement in the handle design and adding the square to the top sounds stupid but when I can feel it level in the back it makes it so much easier. Drybar I'd like less power and a wider design to avoid hair pulling and frizzing. And the retail cost is definitely not worth it to me so that brings it to a 6.
Hope this helps someone in making a decision!
Most Helpful Critical Review WAY TOOO HOTTT AND LOUD!!!!
Okay so I bought this at the store.. 1.the bristles are PLASTIC and after my first use they were all spread out and looked like the brush was used over a long period time. so is this going to effect my next use? It would have been so much more worth it if they were boar bristles IN MY OPINION!!! 2. I WAS SWEATING SO BAD !!! After using this I literally had to put my hair up when I was done with my hair to take a cold body shower to cool off !!! I felt so gross after! Although other brands are having that same issue with the heat settings, I cant really hate this specific one because they all get WAY TOOO HOTTT!! Revlon included! I heard they all get to hot but the revlon has a blend of boar bristles witch may help with the frizz and laying the hair down better then the plastic bristles ... I think it did it's job but come on y'all it's way to hot and depending on your actual hair texture you only need a certain amount of head on your hair ! I used the Nero prime by Paul Mitchell and the Kenya blow out mist with the brush and yes it did do a good job with the end result but I had to take breaks from my hair because I couldn't take all the heat... I know I sound dramatic but look at the revlon reviews on YouTube as well they get hot just the same as this one !

just received this product the other day and tried it for the first time, and I have to say I am highly impressed. My hair is fine but it gave me a little volume and super smooth and shiny.
Broke after a month

I loved this product and then it died! I bought it August 20 and by September 27 it no longer worked. It made a horrible sound, smelled like burning and would not get hot on high or turn on in the other two settings. Taking it back to the store this week!

I have very thick hair that doesn't dry well. I usually need to straighten or use a wand after blow drying to combat frizziness. This tool allows me to go from dripping wet hair to dry and styled in less time.

Wish I would of bought this sooner I love how it makes my hair look!
CaiteC from Laguna Beach, CA
This literally changed everything for me. No more tired arms and switching brush and blow dryer. My hair is salon smooth and my frizz is tame, and for curly hair this is insane to smooth and straighten so easily! My bangs are so simple to fix now, and I'm ready so much quicker!
So many compliments!

Love love love!!! So easy to use and I've received a ton of compliments since I started using it. Wish I had bought one a long time ago!

I blow dry my hair three days a week and my blow dryer recently went kaput on me so I decided to finally take a chance on a brush. So far, it seems to work pretty well! It dries my hair in half the time that regular blow drying would take but the handle is a little bulky and unwieldy to that'll take some getting used ot
Love love love

So glad I tried this blow out brush!

I have shoulder length fine wavy hair that likes to poof and frizz whenever it can. I don't have a lot of time in the mornings before work to spend on doing my hair. I am also not very coordinated and using a regular hair dryer and round brush always took too long and reaching the back of my head was never easy. I had resorted to running a flat iron over my hair to help tame the frizz. Yet, even on a lower heat setting and all the heat protectant spray you can use, it was damaging my hair. I decided to try this brush in a last ditch effort to tame my frizz and not completely fry my hair. Wow. First, for me, not having to hold a dryer in one hand and brush in other was a game changer. This allows me to reach the hair on the back of my head easier by freeing up 1 hand. It also allowed me to style my hair faster as it is drying and smoothly my hair all at once. My hair turned out smooth and soft.
It does get hot on the high setting. I found that using it on lightly damp hair ensures that I am not exposing may hair to a ton of heat for a long period of time. I used my regular blow dryer to dry my roots and get rid of any excess dampness. With a nice smoothing/heat protectant product, this brush did a great job.

I purchased this last year, just getting around to using it for the first time. Was easy to use. My hair did not get caught in it and it dried it quickly and smoothly
This is one of the best products I have ever bought

I have naturally curly hair and with very little product, this straightens my hair while it blows it dry. And my hair holds body and smoothness for three days in between washings. It's amazing
Monica from San Antonio Texas
This great for a salon blow out!!!! I didn't even walk out of the salon with this volume! I'm from Texas where it's "everything's bigger in Texas"so the volume is just right!! Lol don't even need my hair straightener
Best purchase ever made
Claudia from Texas
This has made doing my hair so easy and simple from wet to dry and styled in 15 minutes. Shoulder length hair. I never used to do my hair because I hated blow drying and then straightening so I would air dry and by the time it would dry I didn't want to straighten it so it was always in a pony tail until this tool. Everyone needs this!

This gives me a blowout hair style at home! I highly recommend it!

I have natural curly hair and it did good getting it straight and smooth. it wasn't completely straight but it did cut my time i would have spent straightening my hair in 1/2.
Just buy it.
Amgunter7 from Jacksonville, FL
This thing is seriously amazing! It takes just a little bit longer to dry my hair with it but that more than makes up for the fact that I don't have to use a straightener afterwards. So much volume and my hair looks like I had a blowout. I got so many compliments on my hair from the first time I used it!
BaliHai73 from Sarasota, FL
OMG! so happy I bought this. Cut my hair drying and styling time in half! I have curly shoulder length hair that I section off, and blow straight with a brush and hair dryer. Then, flat iron. This dried my hair in no time, almost perfectly straight with body. I just needed light flat iron on ends. It's
very hot, so I recommend a heat protectant, like Redkin Play Safe Heat cream, but other than that, less time on my hair with fabulous results!
long thick hair
gabrielle from new york

I love this blow out brush!

I used it after my hair dried up a little and it worked fantastic! Left my hair looking straight and smooth!
Fine medium length hair

The ONLY reason I bought this is bc after 20 years of visiting salons, I could NEVER blow dry my hair with a round brush and get that same result. It was awkward using the round brush and holding the blow dryer. I saw this on sale at Ulta and did a lot of research on this as well as other products. The first day I used it one of my friends thought I had been to the salon for a trim bc my hair looked so fresh. I don't use it on soaking wet hair, usually I towel dry, apply my skin care and then use it. It does get warm and will heat up your hair similar to a straight iron, just not quite as hot.
This really performs like they say

I was absolutely thrilled with how this dryer performs. Dries quickly, easy to handle, smooths hair without burning.
