Most Helpful Positive Review compared to drybar So I bought both the bedhead at retail price and the Drybar blow dryer brush, on sale and mostly with points. Full disclosure, I only paid $60 for the drybar, so it wasn't a huge loss to experiment with which I like. Here are my thoughts:
Bedhead wins on price for sure, though since I only paid like $60 for the drybar one I'm going to keep it because it's not *that* much more expensive and I'm curious as far as lasting, which one will keep up through time (which is TBD obvi)
Drybar wins on handle comfort. It's much smaller in diameter both in the brush and the handle than the bed head, which makes it much less heavy and comfortable to hold. I also love the square tip because it makes it super easy to notice by feel if I'm losing the angle I want.
They both have only two heat settings and a cool function, but here's where things get strange. I feel like the drybar is the same hotness, but it made my hair much frizzier the first time I used it than the bedhead. Like super frizzy! The second time I used it I switched to the lower setting when I was near my roots which helped, but makes it annoying to keep flipping between. Temp wise they feel the same, but I think drybar blows harder on high which is causing the frizz. So for blow power and heat drybar was higher but bedhead wins because more power isn't necessarily better, like standing in front of a jet engine might dry my hair fast but it'd be a mess lol
They also both dried my hair in the same amount of time, even with the more power of the drybar, probably because I had to switch to low so often to avoid frizz. So they tie here as far as time (about 8 minutes total).
I also think even though the handle was more comfortable with drybar, my hair got stuck in it a few times and that was so annoying. It's never happened with the bedhead and I think it's because it's wider.
Overall I give bedhead an 8, room for improvement in the handle design and adding the square to the top sounds stupid but when I can feel it level in the back it makes it so much easier. Drybar I'd like less power and a wider design to avoid hair pulling and frizzing. And the retail cost is definitely not worth it to me so that brings it to a 6.
Hope this helps someone in making a decision!
Most Helpful Critical Review WAY TOOO HOTTT AND LOUD!!!! Okay so I bought this at the store.. 1.the bristles are PLASTIC and after my first use they were all spread out and looked like the brush was used over a long period time. so is this going to effect my next use? It would have been so much more worth it if they were boar bristles IN MY OPINION!!! 2. I WAS SWEATING SO BAD !!! After using this I literally had to put my hair up when I was done with my hair to take a cold body shower to cool off !!! I felt so gross after! Although other brands are having that same issue with the heat settings, I cant really hate this specific one because they all get WAY TOOO HOTTT!! Revlon included! I heard they all get to hot but the revlon has a blend of boar bristles witch may help with the frizz and laying the hair down better then the plastic bristles ... I think it did it's job but come on y'all it's way to hot and depending on your actual hair texture you only need a certain amount of head on your hair ! I used the Nero prime by Paul Mitchell and the Kenya blow out mist with the brush and yes it did do a good job with the end result but I had to take breaks from my hair because I couldn't take all the heat... I know I sound dramatic but look at the revlon reviews on YouTube as well they get hot just the same as this one !

No more flat irons. No more frizz, great product.
Great, but Noisy 4

Works really well and left my hair super soft and shiny. However, my ears were ringing for over an hour after I used it because it is sooooo loud and it screeches when you twist the cord a certain way. It works way to well to get rid of and I'll just buy ear plugs but beware of the noise!
Good product 4
Lani from Knoxville
It dries my super thick hair fast. While styling at the same time. The only complaint is that it is a bit heavy.

I love the results of this product, however, when turned on the motor is extremely loud. The filter is not dirty, very loud right out of the box. I still love the results so I'll put up with the noise.
I recommend this product if you're ok with how loud it is (and live in a house).
I don't recommend this product if you live in an apartment (your neighbors will probably hate you)
Seriously! 5

Where has this been all my life? It is so amazing. It is way easier to use than I thought it would be. The cool setting helps fluff your volume even more and your hair is pouf but smooth. I absolutely love this tool!
Straightens hair great! 4
Jacqulyn from California
It straightens hair better than any flat iron. But it doesn't give me any volume. I guess I'm too stupid to figure that part out yet. My hair is super flat and straight when I use this so if that's the desired look, you'l love it. It also makes the hair silky smooth. But any style? Volume? Curls? Life? None at all. Just a great straightener. Don't listen to the lies the sales people say about volume.
Gets the job done! 4
Gabby from San Diego, CA
This thing is large, bulky and loud BUT it works quick and I don't need two hands to use a rolling brush and hairdryer. I have incredibly long and thick hair so this machine is a lifesaver and big time saver. I highly recommend this for anyone who doesn't have time to style their hair or is recovering from heat damage.

Best all-in-one dryer I've bought! 5
Carly from MD
Leaves my hair smooth and soft. It's lightweight and easy to grip while styling.
Didn't last! 1
Kristie from SC
I loved this dryer. But I only used it 3 times and it broke. I followed directions, letting my hair dry at least half way before using the dryer. But after only 3 uses it smells burned, doesn't sound right, and doesnt blow as hard.

This has officially replaced me hair dryer and round brush! So easy to use! The perfect tool for the perfect blowout.
Left my hair super frizzy 2
Rhiannon from Orlando, FL
I originally had the revlon but returned it because it was super loud. I decided to try this because it was still decently priced and was attracted to the multiple heat levels. Well they aren't really "heat" levels, more of the level of air blown. I did "medium" and it left my hair super frizzy. I did one side with this dryer and the other with my regular hairdryer and a round brush and the side with this was noticeably more frizzy. I use "it's a 10" spray and olaplex no 6 on my damp hair so that's not the issue. I think I may return this and splurge on the Drybar version. It's double the price but I have friends who swear by it.
Upgrade review! After a year still work amazing 5

Guys! This tool worth every penny you expense is a really good investment! Work super great still doing my hair with a salon finish in just 15 minutes, I have a thick and heavy weight hair. And after used looks amazing I have a lot a compliments of the finish of my hair with this tool, I used some treatment because we have to protect our hair even if you used any other styling tool, so if you wanna try go ahead I can highly recommend!
Best ever ! 5

No one can ever get my hair straight without using a flat iron. I have the hardest time blowing out my super curly hair myself as well. Not a lot of damage done using this.. this is a miracle!! It works wonders and gets it done quick! I definitely recommend this!!
Too noisy 1

It's not easy to hold it and makes a lot of noise.
I'm soo disappointed... mine stopped working! 3
ChelleBelle from Akron, OH
I bought one of these at the beginning of July and instantly fell in love with it! It made my hair soft,, shiny and volumized. It also cut my drying time in half.. But then yesterday it just stopped working. It hasn't even been 6 months...
Wow! Work great 5
Sunshine from Houston, tx
Great product it cut my drying time in half 15min less. Plus left my hair shine and smooth. I couldn't ask more.
Miracle! 5
Barb from IA
I love the Blow Out Freak! I've just begun using it and am getting used to it, so just use my flat iron to touch up after I've dried my hair. I'm looking forward to doing away with the flat iron completely!
The only thing I would warn of is that the high setting gets really hot! I use it on the thicker parts of my hair, but the thinner parts I use the warm setting. I love the volume and the ease! Would definitely recommend this!
I should have spent the money sooner 5

Best hair tool I have EVER bought or used. After using this to dry my hair, I no longer need my straightener. Leaves your hair incredibly soft. I thought it would be another hair tool that just tangled my hair into knots, I have fine long hair and it's wonderful. My 18 year old daughter has extremely long THICK hair and she LOVES it.
Impressed! 5
CJ from Atlanta
I'm very impressed with this tool. I've almost replaced using my hair dryer every day. I use it on damp hair treated with heat protectant. It dries and smoothes my hair and keeps it frizz free all day. I have thick but fine textured colored hair.
Work perfect 5
Cammy from Provo
Worked perfect! I don't know if it is normal, but the only thing is that my hair gets a little oily when I use it

Really nice and light just like the Revelon one.
I would buy this again...and for everyone I know. 5
no hair skill from NJ
I adore getting my hair blown out and having that fresh salon look. This is something I cannot do myself AT ALL. I have zero coordination when it come to a hairbrush and a hair dryer. This product changed everything. Thanks to Covid, blow outs aren't on the priority list... this helped me have day after day of great hair days on all my Zoom calls! (with about 10 minutes of effort!)
Does the job 5
AK from MD
I bought this because I had always wanted one of these things. And because of covid boredom. Anyways, tried it and it was amazing. My hair typically has some fly always and minor frizz. None of that jazz with this tool. My hair looks great, it's a dang shame no one will get to see it.
