Most Helpful Positive Review This stuff is miraculous!
This styler is part of my two-step product routine after I wash my hair, and the combo leaves me with touchably soft, defined waves. LOVE IT! I have 2B/2C wavy hair and once the summer humidity kicks in, I need to just let my waves do their thing and work with it. Here's my routine: I wash with DevaCurl's low poo delight shampoo and one condition delight conditioner. I use a wide-tooth comb to brush on my hair to brush out the knots as I'm washing the conditioner out of my hair. I wring out the water in my hair and then blot dry with a microfiber towel. Keep frizz down by just blotting... do not disturb the waves! I keep the towel tied up around my head for a few minutes, then I use some of the DevaCurl B-Leave-in Miracle Curl Plumper and then I put on the Super Cream Styler. I diffuse dry with the blow dryer. My hair doesn't feel waxy or have a residue on it like I've found with other styling products. I love this stuff! I don't use much product on my should-length thick hair, so this will last a while for me.
Most Helpful Critical Review Works OK...Leaves Flakes
I use this after I wash my hair and when it is slightly damp. It feels very slick and your hands will slide through your hair as you are applying it. I like how it makes my hair look the first day. After that, not so much. I wash my hair every other day and the next day (and sometimes the first day) there are noticable flakes throughout my hair. Compared to other products, my hair doesn't bounce back after adding a little water and styling for the next day. It also doesn't smell very good. Probably will not buy again.

This leave in product worked well on my type 4 hair. The product had a pleasant smell and added more definition to my curls. Please be advised that a little bit of the product goes a long way!

I returned the product because it took the curl out of my hair and weighted it down
Plump, plump it up!

This product glides on easily and works great. The scent is pleasing and it defines my curls.
Did what it says

Leaves my hair a bit "crunchy", definitely not "touchable" but it looks nice!
Al from Destin
I love this product so much! I scrunch it into damp hair and it looks so cute and it's defined my curls so nicely without leaving behind crunchy hair, also very lightweight! ❤️
I loved this!
Emie from Maple grove, MN
This product keeps my hair sealed and keeps it from getting dry. I use it twice a week and I'm obsessed!
I would buy this product again

I'm really happy with my experience with deva curl products. All of them smells good and don't let my hair heavy. And also do a great job helping with my curls and waves

I love This styler. It gives me great hold, isn't sticky, and smells awesome.
Big no for me
Sof from Texas
I wanted to like it and based on the price I thought it was going to be great but a big no for me. My hair was frizzy, sticky, itchy scalp and no definition at all. Would not recommend!!
I would buy this product again.

I put this on my hair wet, scrunch hair and then use my defuser to try, great curls every time without the frizz.
Can't help but love it

Background: 3a low porosity fine curls. I don't use the in shower deva products only 3 of their styling products. I usually mix products from different brands based on hair needs (protein moisture balance). Never noticed a problem with hair loss or loss of pattern but that's my personal experience
Review of product: I really tried my best not to love it because of the controversy but I can't help it, I really love how it clumps my curls together easily and adds shine. It's really light and I feel it's a great addition to my wash day routine since I can layer without feeling heavy or weighed down on my fine hair. It's a watery/jelly type consistency but it's not a gel so don't expect much hold I still always follow up with a gel. I never experienced any flakes or weird texture from using the product. Out of all deva products I could not find a dupe to match this so I had to repurchase the big size.
All time favorite
Lupe from Los Angeles
This is by far my favorite product!.. there is no dupe out there or anything like it leaves my curls bouncy, defined, and shinny!. 🥰
Will be returning
Naturalb8 from Sacramento
I wanted to like this product. One , it is very expensive for what it claims to do. Two, it left my hair crunchy with white residue like cheap gel leaves behind. Three, it doesn't do anything for moisture, definition or bounce.
DO NOT BUY
Penlady Barb from New York city
I've used this product, along with other Deva products and am convinced that it contributed to my hair loss and itching scalp. Please, learn from our mistakes, DON'T BUY ANY DEVA PRODUCT!!!!!!
Entire line has changed formulas- hair falling out
Michelle from West Virginia
This used to be my all-time favorite product that I used before gels/mousses. It's the only product in the DevaCurl line that I use. I noticed with my last tube a burning on my scalp as soon as I apply it. Upon research there are thousands of people including DevaCurl influencers that have been experiencing the same thing as well as drastic hair loss and significant hair damage. It appears they have changed their formula recently which has caused these problems. Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin specifically. Im sad a company that was supposed to be 'clean' has done this and I'm glad I caught it before it got worse. Do better DevaCurl!
CAUSES HAIR LOSS!

Used this product for five years, in 2019 I noticed hair loss and scalp irritation. Do not purchase this products, do your research.
Causes hair loss and thinning
Amy from Oregon
My curls are practically straight, the hair on my temples are so thin. My scalp has been thinning and itching. I lose an insane amount of hair when using the no poo shampoo and conditioner as well. This is the WORST company someone could invest in. They delete honest reviews on their own site, hoping mine here wont get deleted. Please whatever you do, do not purchase demoncurl. I mean deva curl.

first devacurl product I tried. worked great at first that's how we all got duped. but after a year of using this my hair is unrecognizable the frizz is INSANE. I have never had such damaged hair, which is crazy because I've been religiously following the curly girl method and taking biotin and taking such good care of my hair. but this left my hair limp and dry and frizzy no definition at all
If I could give 0 stars I would!

I started using the one condition conditioner and the B-leave in back in April 2019 to November 2019. I have now lost more than half of my hair. I have itchy scalp, dandruff, BALD SPOTS, thinning hair. I started using devacurl because I wanted something specifically for my once beautiful curly hair. I wish I had never bought this because now I'm losing all of my hair. I look like the crypt keeper. I have had bloodwork done and nothing is wrong with me. I am a healthy 27 year old woman.
Used to love it, until it broke my hair!
Jay Vee from Washington, DC
I used to love this product and even the concept behind it. A leave-in and CGM-approves gel? YES, right? No. My daughter (who was 12) asked me to stop using it in her because it made her head itch and made her curls "ugly." So I thought I'd finish it, and even repurchased for myself since it didn't affect my scalp. Or I thought. Then my hair dried out like I had been using rubbing alcohol, and my hair fell out in clumps. It was this line and the gel!
Frizz, dryness, itchy scalp
Sarah S from Milwaukee, WI
I have been using devacurl products exclusively for two months now. I noticed my hair was getting very dry and course but I was attributing this to the hair curling wand I recently got but I had only used it to style my hair about 4 times and I used a heat protectant when I did. I realized it was the devacurl after reading all the reviews and reports online. My scalp has also been very itchy and dry lately, again I was attributing this to the harsh Wisconsin winter but I realize the problem started with devacurl. I luckily stopped using it before I experienced the amount of hair loss other women have, but I have a lot of baby hairs now that I didnt have before. I'll have to find a treatment for my hair to fix the damage devacurl has done. I'm not sure what has happened to the company, I used there products years ago and didn't have a problem but after this recent experience I will never buy it again.

DevaCurl products cause scalp irritation and hair loss. DO NOT PURCHASE DEVACURL PRODUCTS!!
DevaDAMAGE from Minnesota
I used to have gorgeous hair but it has been thinning. I have bald stops now, constantly itchy scalp & my curl pattern is terrible & completely different than 2 years prior. I've been using DevaCurl since 2014 and I will never let the stuff touch my hair again
Not a Fan

I tried using this product a few times as a leave in conditioner and it left my hair super dry and frizzy. I bought this product to see what the hype was about regarding Deva Curl. I was very disappointed. Thus, I personally DO NOT recommend this product. I will go back to my SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In Conditioner.
this worked - until it didn't
phoebs from seattle
My stylist first used this on me after a haircut. I loved the results so much that I bought some for home use. At first, it did deliver the promise - I felt like I had better looking and fuller curls, and more volume to my hair overall. I paired it with the volumizing foam.
However, after a couple of months, it seemed like the products weren't working. I went down a CGM rabbit hole trying to figure out a solution, which led me to buying Build Up Buster and Deep Sea Repair and a few other DevaCurl products (as well as products from others.) My hair kept being lifeless. I started having scalp issues. I tried using these products within the past month (thinking maybe if I went back to what originally worked, I'd get my good curls back) only for them to be lifeless and feeling a big grimy. As an added bonus my scalp went from itchy to having hot patches. I happened to stumble across an Instagrammer talking about how DevaCurl had changed, taking her hair with it, and things clicked into place.
These worked - until they didn't. Now I have to figure out how to get my hair back, using another brand.
