Most Helpful Positive Review Helps with "greasy dandruff" and itching Was having horribly itchy burning scalp with chunky greasy dandruff (gross I know). No matter how well I washed, it kept coming back. I thought I was over producing oil from washing too much (went from once a week to 2-3 times a week) and thought that was it but I had to wash to get rid of the itching and dandruff. Did a baking soda and acv rinse for my scalp and that cleared it up, but didn't appreciate my hair smelling like acv (hair was beautifully shiny though). This I use once a week and it works! I still might do the baking soda acv wash once a month, but this is better for frequent use (when I have to smell good for people). The smell isn't anything special but it's not terrible.
Most Helpful Critical Review Ineffective and Drying This shampoo did not work for me on any level. I used it for over a month, and my flaky scalp did not clear. I had to use handfuls and handfuls of this product to get it spread throughout my hair and down to my scalp (for reference, I have a neck-length bob, but a lot of hair). My hair felt incredibly dry upon rinsing the shampoo out, and I started noticing gobs of hair in the shower drain. I'd clean the drain after each shower, but my pipes still clogged. Even after slathering my hair with heavy-duty conditioner, my hair dried out, especially at the ends. The smell isn't strong, but it isn't good, either.
I just switched to a different shampoo. Even with the first use, there was no hair in the shower drain at the end of the shower. My hair is already shiner, softer, and has more body, providing more evidence that this Biolage R.A.W. shampoo was not right for my hair.
Reviewed by 36 customers Great if you have a certain kind of dandruff 5

If you have the type of dandruff that comes with eczema lesions, weeping, and yellow or bloody flakes, this is for you. If your scalp is just dry or have a product build-up, this might not do much for you and it might make you drier. The nourish shampoo is probably a better choice from the same line. My scalp has both the oily/weeping dandruff and the dry issues as well. I use both shampoos, just every other wash. The combination has helped my dermatitis covered winter scalp not feel as terrible.
Made Dandruff Worse 3
Sarah from Columbus OH
I used this for a month or so before deciding to write a review, something I never do, but if you're like me you kinda depend on reviews and are tired of wasted money. I know everyone is different but this actually made the psoriasis on my scalp WORSE. Not only did this somehow manage to make the dandruff and flakes way worse but I have not been able to stop itching and scatching. This is probably the worst anti dandruff shampoo I have ever bought. IMO don't waste your money.
Only thing that has helped me 5
Tanya from Minnesota
I see some bad reviews on this product and I have absolutely no idea why. This product changed my life. I started getting extreme dandruff after I took out my extensions and this is the only thing that has helped. I also use the RAW Rebalancing Conditioner. Maybe it's not working for people with poor reviews because they are using conditioner that still has fragrance and sulfates. That was the problem with me at first I would use this shampoo and cheap conditioner. Then I switched to the RAW conditioner and it was such a better result. Can't wait to try the oil next.
Love this line 5

I read alot of reviews on this and decided to go to YouTube on how to properly use this line and it was so helpful! It's really helped and so happy my scalp finally has relief. I recommend looking it up on YouTube and following the instructions.
Bad Purchase 1

Did not work for. The shampoo does not have a smell to it. Also, the dandruff remained the same and made my hair very dry.

Not a good buy 1
Becca from Redlands Ca
I have moderate to severe dandruff. Like it definitely shows up on my clothes. I was hesitant to try this when I saw that it has salicylic acid but I was desperate for some help. This made my scalp unbearably itchy. I noticed ALOT of hair shedding as well. I don't know the science behind this product but the chronic itching has made my dandruff worse. Would never recommend this

I love this shampoo. It's one of my favorites for dandruff/buildup and I've repurchased several times now. The thing about it is that you truly need to do what the directions say to do - which is to put it on, rub it in and then let it sit for about 3 minutes. As it sits it removes the buildup but also it bubbles up and lathers. If you don't wait then it doesn't do what it should and you'll find that it doesn't lather up like a shampoo should at all and it'll also seem like it takes a huge amount when it shouldn't if you wait.
Anyway - if you do what you're supposed to then it's a great product. I highly recommend.
Perfect for Scalp Acne 5

I HAD scalp acne all over my scalp that itched and drove me crazy all day every day. Do you want to have greasy hair at work from scratching? I don't. Before buying I tested my scalp acne with a Merle Norman acne spot treatment containing the same percentage of Salicyclic acid from my handy bathroom counter. Itching stopped and bump size reduced in hours. So I purchased this Biolage Shampoo and Conditioner. It worked! I use it 2-3 times a week and I am beyond thrilled. No itching, no scratching, dandruff is gone and scalp acne is virtually non-existent . I scrub my scalp with the shampoo and let it sit a few minutes. While I rinse (it takes a few minutes) I work the shampoo through the rest of my hair and I follow with the Biolage Rebalance conditioner.
Save Your Money! 1

I bought this product because of a hair dresser's recommendation to help with dandruff & itchy scalp. I've been using it about a month now, following the instructions on the bottle & I'm still experiencing dandruff & an itchier scalp! It doesn't lather well & makes my hair extremely hard to run my fingers through during & after the shower. I'm quite disappointed with this product & unfortunately, I bought two bottles when it had the BOGO 50% off sale because I had high hopes & thought it'd be nice to save some money but I wouldn't purchase again nor recommend it to anyone.

Left my hair really dry, left my scalp smelling unclean, and was very difficult to lather. Had a consistency similar to hand soap. Would not purchase again

Awful 3

I have a scalp issue. I look high and low for a solution. This is not it. My hair felt stripped and like straw. Detangling was a nightmare. I will never purchase this product again.
Dandruff got worse 1
Peanut from Denver
I used a little exfoliating scrub brush with this to make sure I really cleaned the scalp. After blow drying my hair, it looked worse. Gave it one more go and after scrubbing I washed it again to see if I could get any excess to leave my hair. No improvement. Giving it to my (nearly bald) father.
Horrible Shampoo 1
CB from C
This dried out my hair but yet still left my scalp extremely greasy. It did not lather at all and did nothing to help with dandruff

Left my scalp greasy and gross 1
Maria from Northern IL
I tried to like this shampoo as I like the other shampoos in the R.A.W. Line. However, this shampoo did not work, it did not lather nor rinse off. The first couple of times using this I had a light greasy, waxy feeling to the back of my head. At first I thought it was bc the weather was changing and getting more humid and I was sweating more. But after more and more use that greasy, waxy feeling kept getting more and more heavy on my scalp and spreading to the top and side of my head.
I decided to stop using this shampoo and I haven't had that issue since.
Gave me more dandruff than I already had. 1

Worked amazing on my wife's hair who has a lot of dandruff. For reference, she has straight thick hair and always wears a cap for work.
The price is just very up-there but it's worth every penny.
works great just follow the instructions 4
dizzy from California
so despite the bad reviews I decided to try it anyway. it works really well you just have to make sure to follow the instructions on the bottle EXACTLY. basically you have to double wash with it, the first time it wont lather up just rub it in and rinse it out. the second time it will lather A LOT. I dont know why it does this but it works really great. you will have a bit of a dry sticky feeling after you wash it out the second time but it will go away so long as you use a nice hydrating conditioner or mask and your hair will be soft and dandruff free!
Husband LOVES it 5

There are a lot of negative comments about this but so far for me it's helped my dandruff. It is extremely hard to lather, but it has a nice smell.
