Ulta's New Hue Shadow Switching Pan includes makeup removing sponges that allow you to use the same brush for different eyeshadow colors without mixing the shades or getting your brush wet.

Benefits:
  • Large black sponge is used to remove dry powder shadow from your makeup brush
  • Small white sponge can be dampened to switch between cream or wet shadows and liners
For dry/powder formulas, gently glide your eyeshadow brush over the Black Shadow Switching Sponge in a circular motion to remove pigment; move on to your next color.

For wet/cream formulas, dampen the White Shadow Switching Sponge and place back into the center tin to keep the water secluded. Gently glide your brush over the white sponge until pigment is removed; move on to your next color.

To clean: Remove sponges from the pan and wash with a makeup brush cleaner. Squeeze out all pigment and water. Lay flat to dry before returning sponges to pan.

Comments about ULTA New Hue Shadow Switching Pan:

I was impressed with how well the outer black sponge works for removing even the darkest shadows from your brush and then being able to turn around and use the same brush for a light shadow. The white square sponge in the middle can be removed so that you can moisten it for wet shadows. This works well, too. Both of the sponges pop out and can be cleaned with brush cleaner and air dried. I use this product a lot more than I thought I would!

Comments about ULTA New Hue Shadow Switching Pan:

The sponge in this tin has a texture and almost a tacky feel that is great for removing excess eye shadow from my brushes. It was irritating to have to clean brushes every time I changed shadow color and this sponge helps with that problem. It takes enough of the old shadow off that I'm not applying the old color with the new. Its not perfect but does what I hoped for.

It should be able to depending on the size of your foundation brush. The area where you scrub your brush is about an inch wide, so it might be difficult if your brush is much wider than that.

            • Q:

Is this similar in size to a single eyeshadow and if so, would it be possible to be added to a Z palette?
Asked on 1/10/2018 by Amanda from Detroit, Mi

              1 answer

              • Staff Expert

                A:

No, this is not similar in size to a single eyeshadow and it can't be added to a Z palette. This is a dry makeup removing sponge that allows you to use the same brush for different eyeshadow colors without mixing the shades or getting your brush wet.

              • Staff Expert

                A:

You can simply wet the white sponge in the middle to remove wet/cream formulas from your makeup applicator to switch to the next color. The sponge can be removed and cleaned with brush cleaner in between uses.
