Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1.25 Curling Iron:

I decided that the S125 model was too big for the size curls I wanted and I exchanged it for the S1 model. However, I would have returned it anyway as the first time I used it I got multiple error code failures. Had to keep turning it off and starting over. I've never paid this much for a curling iron and I've never had any trouble with less expensive models. I looked at reviews and saw I wasn't the only one to experience this. I brought home the S1 model and haven't had any error issues with it at all so far. Like the results and ease of use. I'm setting it at 370 and haven't had any heat related concerns.

I got this curling iron as a gift and loved it for months. It was my go-to when I needed to get my hair done quickly. After four months it just completely broke. When turning it on it malfunctions and won't turn anymore. Really disappointed that It no longer works because I really enjoyed this product. Would not reinvest my money knowing that this happened.

        Error issue

Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1.25 Curling Iron:

I read all the reviews and was aware of all the technical issues and error messages but went ahead and ordered anyway. I thought with all this feedback the product would've been recalled and issues addressed by now. First few uses were great! I achieved beautiful cascading curls with minimal effort and the wand is super comfortable! Then the beeping and error messages started :( so disappointed. Not sure if I should risk getting another one.

Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1.25 Curling Iron:

My husband bought me this iron for Christmas, and I noticed it malfunctioned on error #4 repeatly, which is so irritating to have to stop in the middle of doing your hair and unplug it for 20 minutes. It continually gave the error #4 until I decided to return it for a brand new one. The first use with the new one, it did the same thing!! I emailed the company and explained to the that I gave it plenty of time to heat up, I've used it in multiple locations of my new construction home, as well as different locations all together, that it was not plugged into an extension cord, nor was anything else plugged it. The email they sent me back was so vague and it was very clear they didn't even read my email because they asked me questions that I had already answered in my first email. Loved the look it gave my hair, but can't see paying top dollar for something that doesn't work properly.

Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1.25 Curling Iron:

I bought this because my friend and colorist RAVED about it and said all of her clients do too. I gave this thing 2 shots. The 1st time I wasnt in love but it was OK. The 2nd time I hated the turn out so much I took it back. I just did not love it for the price tag. It definitely is cool, but I can get the same job or better done easier in the same amount of time. So it wasn't worth it to me.
            1. Both sides of my hair did not curl the same
            2. You have to do small, same length pieces to get the ends in the little clip
            3. Its not any faster just because it is a self twirling barrel.

The 1 thing I did like was the nice tight wrap around the barrel.

Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1.25 Curling Iron:

I've been wishing for this curling iron for the last year and finally got it for Christmas. Sadly, it didn't work quite as well as I had hoped. It leaves a crimp at the bottom of my hair and the curls do not last, no matter the heat setting. Works better as just a wand, but sadly too late to return. I will be going back to my hot tools. I will say initially my husband ordered the wrong size and it was a gift. I was past the exchange window, but they let me for a different size since it was still in the box unused and a gift so kudos for good customer service.

Great question! Any Beachwaver® works great on thick hair and all hair types! If your hair is shoulder length or longer, the S1.25 would be an excellent choice. Is the ceramic barrel of the S1 more likely to damage hair than the gold infused tourmaline barrel of the more expensive beachwaver?

                      A:

Both the Beachwaver S1 and Beachwaver Pro barrels are made of materials that will protect your hair from damage. We always recommend using a heat protectant spray prior to any heat styling. The Beachwaver S1 is made of protective ceramic and the Beachwaver Pro is made of protective ceramic tourmaline infused with gold powder. The gold powder helps distribute the heat evenly and the actual barrel itself is an inch longer than the S1.

I am considering the purchase of the S1.25 but am concerned after reading the reviews the problem of error messages and not working. Has this been corrected? Just an fyi - I have a S1 which will only go to 350 degrees. I decided to keep it as it will curl my hair if I use extra product. I do love the curls and the ease of use, but am looking for something more wavy.

For the S1 and all Beachwaver irons, the digital temperature clock will lock as a safety feature so the temperature is not accidentally changed during use. To adjust the temperature, simply hold down the power button for a few seconds to unlock the clock. You will then be able to change to your desired temperature.
