Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1 Curling Iron:

This curler is literally the worst thing ever. I bought it for my mom who never curls her hair because she doesn't know how to. The thought of having an automatic curler was super appealing to someone who doesn't know how to curl her hair using a regular iron. But let me tell you, this thing is just horrible. It pulls your hair out of your head and leaves very unflattering curls. I returned it the next day— huge waste of money. Highly recommend just a regular wand!

Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1 Curling Iron:

While creating the first few curls, I was a little nervous. I was overwhelmed and thought, "wow, I'll never get used to this." After unpinning the third section of my hair, I was extremely confident in maneuvering the beachwaver . In 10 minutes, I achieved my desired look, which would normally take about 30 minutes minimum. (No, I'm not exaggerating)
Absolutely worth every penny if you're like me and want to achieve a nice look in half the time and effort.

          from Elmira, NY

Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1 Curling Iron:

I have medium length, thin, and fine hair. So, as you can imagine, my hair doesn't hold a curl or wave very well. I used to use clamp-less curling irons because I wasn't able to properly use a standard curling iron (I couldn't get used to it!) I decided to try out the Beachwaver after reading reviews and watching many videos. Needless to say, I'm in love! With this iron, my hair is able to hold the desired waves I've been looking for, for so long! I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to a clamp-less iron! 5 stars for me! :)

Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1 Curling Iron:

I love this curling iron. It gave me perfect curls that lasted all day. And it got close to my scalp, which I was very impressed with. Also, people make too much of an issue with the home button and the arrow buttons. They're not that complicated lol.

The only thing I'll say, is that if you're truly looking for "beach waves", go for the larger barrel...this one gives curles that you have to brush/pull out to make into waves.

Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1 Curling Iron:

I have always wanted beachy waves, but my thick naturally wavy hair has never been good at holding a curl. I can now get the perfect curl in only 15 seconds and it holds all day. Not to mention I'm one of those people that can't use a curling iron to save their life. The Beachwaver S1 is definitely a game changer. It's now faster for me to curl my hair than it is to straighten, I get amazing volume and my hair even looks great the next day. I can't recommend this product enough! I only wish I knew about it sooner and Ulta's 20% off coupon made it even better!

Comments about Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1 Curling Iron:

I originally wrote a descriptive lightly review on this product a few weeks ago. I had only used the product once when I wrote the review. Since using it a few more times, I have discovered that this product is extremely unsafe. Think about it: you're putting yourself in the hands of a curling iron that spins by itself... pretty risky, right? I was using my Beachwaver when I let go of the rotation button... AND IT CONTINUED SPINNING UP MY HAIR! Immediately once I realized what was happening, I ripped the (STILL SPINNING) Beachwaver out of my hair before it was too late. The Beachwaver continued spinning until it reached Home- which was almost a full rotation up my hair. I decided to give it a few more tries thinking I might have accidentally hit Home and there wasn't anything wrong with my Beachwaver. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case, the same thing happened two more times. I'm lucky I reacted so quickly, otherwise my scalp would be toast! I wanted to love this product because I had spent so much money on it so I decided to give it a few more tries, just not in my hair. I experimented by holding the left direction button down, waiting for the Beachwaver to spin around 3-4 times. But when I released the button, IT KEPT SPINNING! I think it's safe to say that my specific one did not function properly and I have since then returned it.

BOTTOM LINE: Please test out your Beachwavers because you never know if yours could be dangerous. And also be cautious because sometimes it decides to work and sometimes it doesn't.

Great question! We recommend the Beachwaver S1 from shoulder length hair or longer. This iron is also great for all hair types. For shorter hair (chin length or longer), we love using the Beachwaver S.75. This iron is great for fine to thick hair. Take a look at this comparison chart: http://images.ulta.com/is/image/Ulta/beachwaver-s-series-barrel-sizes. The Beachwaver is super easy to use because it takes the guesswork out of curling your hair! It's simple, you part your hair into left and right sections and curl as such. With the clamp facing in, start with the left side of your face, and press the left arrow to curl left-away from the face. For the right side of your face, press the right arrow and curl right-away from your face. We hopes this helps and you love your Beachwaver!

Hello! Great questions! The Beachwaver S1 would definitely give you more defined beachy waves. The Beachwaver S1.25 will give you that more relaxed beachy wave. Take a look at these comparison images to see the difference between a 1" barrel and a 1.25" barrel: http://images.ulta.com/is/image/Ulta/beachwaver-barrel-size-styles. If your hair is should length or longer, the S1.25 would be the way to go!

The Beachwaver® S1 would be an excellent option for you, especially since you plan on growing out your hair! For beginners and shorter length hair, we recommend switching the Beachwaver to the slow speed. This will help with the shorter strands of hair and getting used to the mechanisms of the iron. The S1 will also give you those gorgeous beachy waves everyone loves! Take a look here at the differences between barrel sizes: http://images.ulta.com/is/image/Ulta/beachwaver-barrel-size-styles

I am interested in purchasing the Beachwaver, but what's the difference between the models? I have thick hair, just past my shoulder blades. I have seen there's 1.25, s1.25, then the ones that are $199. Thanks.

I have very thick hair that falls a bit below my shoulders. My problem has always been finding a curling iron that holds the curls. After a couple hours, my hair seems to fall flat because it's so heavy, unless I use an entire can of hairspray. Would the s1 be the best size or would the s1.25 hold a better curl?

                    A:

Since your hair has a hard time holding a curl, we would recommend using the Beachwaver® S1 or Beachwaver® Pro. The great thing about the Beachwaver, is that you only need to hold the iron in your hair for 3-4 seconds. We recommend not touching your curls until they are completely cooled. Once cooled, you can run your fingers through or one of our favorite things to do is spray a flexible hold hairspray onto a nylon boar bristle brush and gently brush through your hair. This actually distributes the hairspray throughout your hair without making it crunchy or weighed down.

                  Hello!
My hair is pretty thick (no layers) blunt bob about jaw/mid neck length. I'm not the best at curling my hair so i figured i would give it a shot. Should i go with the S 1" or the .75" I'm afraid the .75" is going to give my tighter curls, and I'm just looking for beach waves. I'm sure i could go with the .75 but at a lower temp. But I'm also looking for one that can go with different hair styles. I'm always between collar bone and jaw bone length with my hair.

The Beachwaver® S1 is perfect for hair that is shoulder length or longer! This barrel size will you give you the perfect relaxed beachy waves. A pro tip to make the waves softer and not as tight is to spray some flexible hold hairspary directly onto a nylon boar bristle brush and gently brush through your hair.
