Most Helpful Positive Review Pair w/Sea Salt Spray! MAGIC.
I use this with the BB Sea Salt Spray and it does what no other product has ever done for my slick, fine, straight hair. It gives me that "wet/scrunched" look I've only dreamt of that holds (seriously) ALL DAY! I bet it would work well by itself, but I always use the spray first on damp hair, then warm this up in my hands (helps it distribute easier) and put about 5 sm. dollops throughout my hair. You won't need as much if you don't have enough hair for 3 people's heads, like I do. I have VERY straight hair and a lot of it, so I clump up the product-filled sections or hair and clip to my head to air dry while I do my make-up and get dressed, then use a diffuser hair-dryer to finish the job if it's still wet. DO NOT put this on anything but damp, towel-dried hair. It needs that moisture to work properly. It leaves stickiness on your hands after you've applied it, but you can wash it off your hands and once dry on your hair, you won't notice any stickiness anymore. I love it and will be making that my go-to product for scrunchy/all-day styled hair. :)
Most Helpful Critical Review Ugh...
This product was too sticky for my hair. Unlike it's name (Beach Babe) this product is NOT laid-back-grab-and-go, you gotta work it! If you don't work it it will not spread nicely which will cause strands of hair to dry out and feel crunchy. On a good note, even if it does dry out I didn't notice product flakes. When I did have time to work it into my hair (I'm talking salon-style kinda blow-out), this product gave me lift and thickness. When I used my curling iron, I got a longer lasting curl.
So, all in all, this goop is decent and just needs a name change, less sticky/tacky feeling. Would give 3 stars, but stickiness drops it to 2.
BTW, my product reference on styling creams are Bumble&Bumbles Styling Creme, Living Proof Prime Style Extender

I agree with the other reviews who say this product is very sticky. However, that's what I love about it! My hair is incredibly thick, coarse, and 2c/3a curly. This is the ONLY product I have ever used that has kept my hair curly (as opposed to lifeless/frizzy) for more than 24 hours. Application is key, and I can understand that it might take some getting used to. What I do: After I shower, I let my hair dry a little bit while I do my skincare/apply body lotion. After I'm done with that, I apply a thick leave in conditioner, combing and scrunching as I go. Then, I take about a dime-size blob of this product, rub it vigorously between my hands to warm it up/make it more spreadable, and scrunch it into my hair from the ends up. Sometimes I'll use a diffuser after that, but most times I air dry and I'm super happy with how my hair looks! Hope this is helpful!!
DONT DO IT

Makes your hair so crunchy, don't get it
Very sticky, returned it
Larissa from Colorado
I did everything I had read to do from other reviews to avoid it making my hair particularly crunchy and stuck together, but it still did exactly that. It did define my waves, but at what cost?
Nelly from Wa
I've tried so many products for my waves and curls. This one is my new holy grail! Like another reviewer, I brush my hair with a wet brush in the shower. I boot dry and then spray in a leave in conditioner on my ends. Then I put a quarter size dollop on my hand and rub together before scrunching in my hair. I air dry and it does create a sticky cast until it is mostly dry. Then I scrunch and my hair looks fantastic! My waves are curlier and my curls hold together better! No frizz, doesn't weigh down my hair, just makes it look fantastic and beachy! I love this stuff and you can't beat the price!!
Lilly from Texas
It gave my hair a little texture, but it was very sticky and it would leave clumps of it in my hair that I would have to brush out then my hair would be wet again after I blow dried it
Just like Curls Rock!
Dani from NY
This stuff is awesome! It's exactly like Tigi Curls Rock but at a fraction on the cost. Tricky to work with at first but once you get the hang of it your curls will love it. Take a small amount and warm it up in your hands by rubbing your palms together, then work in sections, gently scrunching it into damp hair.

Unexpectedly GREAT product!! Gives beach waves and curls!
Jade from St Charles County
This product is a MUST, mostly for those who would like beachy waves and natural looking loose curls! I had never heard of this product, even though I have heard of this brand. I was shopping inside ULTA, when I seen the travel size version of this product and I decided to give it a try!
I do have to say, the texture is kind of sticky, but with one wash of your hands it goes away! I recommend ONLY putting it in wet hair (right after the shower or so), because then you will receive the BEST wavy hair look. Also, once the product dries it has a tendency to feel hard in your hair, but do NOT worry, all you have to do to solve this is take a comb and hair dryer and sort of brush through the hard parts to receive even BETTER waves. (Remember to start by putting the product in your hands and slowly scrunching it in your hair from bottom to top, that's how your waves will lay!)
Product smells great and really does its job! With the right process (putting it in wet, and brushing out the hard curls after it dries) you will have the cutest waves ever!!

it was really sticky and kind of difficult to get the excess of my hands. i did see some waviness after scrunching the cream in which was cool, but it left these sticky bits of residue in my hair. i ended up just brushing my hair back out . not my fav :((
Good texturizer for air drying
Rachel from Washington, DC
Of the texturizers I've tried, this product is most similar to Bumble and Bumble Texture. I scrunch it into damp hair for grit and separation and then air dry or diffuse. Compared with Bb Texture, NYM has a softer hold and less grit, and the finish is a bit less matte. Some reviewer say it's sticky, but I don't find that to be the case at all once it's dry -- you just have to leave it alone and not mess with your hair while it dries. I like Bb Texture a little better because I prefer a stronger hold but for the price, NYM is a great option.
I would buy again
Whitney from Alabama
I use on damp hair along with the beach wave spray. I scrunch this through my hair after I spray it and let it air dry. It is sticky though so make sure you have the water on to wash your hands after lol
Jen from WY
This is comparable to the curls rock amplifier for a fraction of the cost. Hope the never stop making it. It gives my fine curls lots of bounce and body!
The more I use it, the more I love it
Gertie from Boston
I really wasn't sure about this product at first. I have long, fine, curly, fizzy hair. My curls vary from a pronounced wave to very tight curls and they are incredibly fragile. One gust of wind will break the structure apart and i end up with a wild fizzy mess. When I began using this, I had a hard time getting over the texture which is like glue. And it seemed to deposit product unevenly throughout my hair which left some sections wild and some a bit crunchy. But now I've got it down. After using a leave in conditioner,I use a large pea sized amount and really rub my hands together, not just to spread it across my palms but to warm the product a bit. I scrunch it through my hair and then repeat, letting my hair air dry. This seems to disperse the product evenly and keeps it from having the dreaded crunch. It holds my curl structure together, doesn't weigh my hair down at all and I have beautiful beach waves all day. This will be my third time repurchasing this product and I'll be buying a few to make sure I don't run out!
Awesome Product for Fine/Low Density Curls
Colleen from Michigan
I've actually been using this product for a long time. I liked it, but it wasn't until recently that I realized how I really should have been using it. The formula is VERY thick and if you try to apply it directly to damp or dry hair, it won't work. You need to put a SMALL amount in your hand, add water, and scrunch it into wet (not sopping - just more than "damp") hair, then add more with water in small amounts to problem areas. If your hair isn't wet and you don't add water to the product, you're going to end up with a gunky mess. After application, air dry (I've had good results with this) or diffuse (even better results). It DOES dry with a cast, so you DO need to scrunch it out when your hair is totally dry. Then you'll have soft, textured waves with excellent hold! I tried it as part of my day 2 hair routine today and loved the results so much that I ran to leave a review (and buy more!). Just about the only thing I don't like about this product is the scent - it's a nice, beachy, coconut-y scent, but it is strong and lasts quite awhile. I tend to prefer subtler scents, but for the results, I don't even care. This is a holy grail product for fine/low density curls!
I would but this product again & again
Stephanie from Richland WA
I put this product in my hair immediately after I get out of the shower and then I put my hair up until I'm ready to blow dry it. I have crazy curly frizzy hair and this product help define & tame my hair. Love it!
Jen from Boise
I've been using rusk glue forever and loved loved it. However it's been discontinued and I was looking for a substitute tried a couple other products before accidentally running into Beach Babe. It's really amazing I have short curly hair and I need a serious but flexible hold and this works beautifully. Will be buying again! Oh and 1/3 the price!!
Favorite for my curls
Antonia from New York, New York
Use after showering in damp hair, apply throughout hair starting from ends. Once dry, you can use a dryer to diffuse curls and get the small stiffness out. I love this item, use it after every shower. It keeps curls shape and bounce without a lot of weight and can't be beat with the price. It performs like salon products.
I wouldn't buy this again
Christina from Pendleton Indiana
I used as suggested on tube. My hair looked flat and lifeless. Hoping I can return this.
I definitely recommend

I have naturally frizzy hair. I scrunch it in my hair after I get out of the shower while it's still wet. It works well if you leave it dry or blow dry.
Didn't do anything
Kelsey from Minnesota
I usually use Bumble & bumble Texture to make my super fine hair less slippery and thought I'd see if this less expensive version compared. It did nothing to add texture to my hair, just made it feel slightly more dry.
Doozi from North Carolina
I liked the look of my hair after using but it is very sticky on your hands. I also found small sticky "balls" in my hair as the day went on. My hair is short and very fine and thin so it may work better with thicker, longer hair.
Kay from Syracuse
my hair is naturally wavy and all this did was turn my hair into a frizzy, knotty mess and now I'm stuck with a full bottle.
Love love love
Vickie from Tulsa, OK
Love all the NYM products, have not found one I don't like. This is perfect for my pixie. I have straight, fine hair and it works without gooping up my style.
Will buy again and again
Kate from Wisconsin
I have yet to find a curl cream like this. It's just the right consistency not runny or too thick like gel. It holds my curls nicely untill I wash my hair again.
I scrunch enough product in my hair after showering then use my diffuser to dry my hair.
Not very good
Charlie from California
I have naturally kind of frizzy and curly hair and was looking for something to help and this made my hair super crunchy, dry, and tangled I do not recommend
