Most Helpful Positive Review great product and price
I'd been looking for an oil cleanser that wouldn't irritate my acne because I know that the usual lathery cleansers I use aren't great for oily/acne prone skin (although that was the only thing that would ever actually clean the oil off my skin), and other natural oils I used always left a nasty residue no matter how much I washed it off (making me break out more). The first time I used this I just rubbed it in and rinsed it off with water because I was in the shower and I HATED IT. I decided to give it another chance and instead of rinsing it I used a wet washcloth to gently wipe it off and it was so much better! It completely cleans my skin leaving it healthily shiny, SO SOFT, oil free, non-tight (like all my other cleansers), and my face isn't even red afterwards (I have very sensitive skin and even a makeup wipe turns it beet red for a bit). It hasn't irritated my acne at all and it hasn't really improved it either, but I wasn't expecting it to. Overall I LOVE THIS PRODUCT, it works well and it's a steal compared to my other $25-35 cleansers. I wish it didn't have a scent but that is very minimal in my opinion.
Most Helpful Critical Review Frustrating!
Do you enjoy a stressful cleansing experience? Not a fan of removing your makeup? Always wondered how it would feel to leave a whole stick of butter sitting on your face? Need to see how good your second cleanser works? This cleansing oil is for you!
Doesn't remove makeup no matter how much you massage it or for how long, doesn't emulsify or rinse off. Smells great and leaves your face super soft (because it's oil, and it's not actually capable of rinsing away) but a week of that will break anybody out. I guess if you have the driest skin in the universe, don't wear makeup, and have always wanted to try leaving loads of oil that's now saturated with all the dirt/pollution/dead skin of the day on your face, then go for this cleansing oil! But if not, I'd skip it.
Not my first oil cleanser rodeo--there are dozens out there (even in drugstore brands) that emulsify and rinse off cleanly and y'know, actually take off makeup. If you're new to oil cleansers, pick a different one. This isn't representative of oil cleansers as a whole and if this was your only foray into the genre it might turn you off forever.
Returned it; bummer.

This cleansing oil removes all makeup, even waterproof mascara, and leaves my skin feeling clean and hydrated. I often use only this cleansing oil to clean my face at the end of the day. I don't need to use another cleanser after this one because it doesn't leave a residue on my skin (I use a damp washcloth to take the cleansing oil and makeup off my face). Also, the cleansing oil smells good.

I have used many different oil cleansers before and this one just completely missed the mark. It's suppose to remove makeup and cling to oils on our face then be washed off with water. This does not wash off with water and it was so frustrating because you couldn't get the oil off your face. My face would literally look like the bottom of a cooking pan. Terrible. Just terrible. Save yourself the trouble. Get a good oil cleanser. Not this one.

This didn't take off any makeup what so ever. It literally just moves it around and then leaves a film like feeling on your face after rinsing it off with water. I was using this as my first step to remove my makeup and then go in with my cleanser but this product didn't work for me at all.
Double Cleanse Step 1
Aizek from TX
I apply this on dry skin to remove/melt the makeup I had on for the day and it works immediately. Then I gradually add water and it slowly starts to come off but then has this greasy texture to it so this is when I go in with a second cleanser to thoroughly wash off everything. I have never used this alone-always as part of my double cleanse routine. But it def does a great job of melting the hardest makeup off!

Product doesn't emulsify and leaves a greasy film, would not recommend for first time oil cleansers. :/

Best thing for my skin
MrsLesleeG from Richmond, VA
Massage product into skin, wipe off with warm, soft washcloth. I have oily skin, so it seems counter intuitive that this would work, but I see the overnight oily production on my own skin reduced.
Niah from Philadelphia
I have super oily acne prone skin so i was skeptical, but i love it! It cleans my skin while keeping it hydrated. I double cleanse with a regular face wash wash after this. It didn't cause any extra breakouts or extra oily-ness

I wasn't sure that oil cleansers were for me, but when I learned how to get the best use out of it. I have repurchased it. I don't usually repurchase items, because I'm always looking for something better, but this just works. I don't like makeup removers. I used to use wipes and I always had too much dirt left. THIS WORKS. I breaks up my Tarte liner, all my expensive mascaras. Everything. It also, definitely emulsifies. Then follow with a good cleanser, my toner doesn't have to work over time and no need to rewash my face.
Yes Thank You!

Oil cleansers are much preferred for my dry skin to treat it gently. This oil cleanser also moisturizes my skin even after I emulsify and rinse it off. Such a difference!
burns eyes :(
enabobina from PA
disappointed in this, i was being hopeful because i wanted a cleansing oil or balm cheaper than the one i get from the body shop but this burns my eyes. it burns even after washing, had to put eye drops in! with the body shop one i can literally open my eyes and it wont burn. this stuff also didnt take off the makeup as fast. smells nice though. going to keep using it to see if i like it any better
Eh from Ruston
I really wanted to like this but it was a no-go unfortunately. Smelled like old playdough and felt slimy after rinsing. Plus it was weird that it didn't emulsify. Too bad for such a nice price :(
I like it
MUACosmo from Wichita
I have been using Dermalogica precleanse which is an oil cleanser. It's great but with losing my job due to the pandemic, I'm saving it and decided to give this a try. I really like it. It takes all of my makeup off easily and rinses of with water well. I use it every evening as part of my double cleanse. Even if I haven't worn makeup I still use it because oil cleansers work great at getting rid of oil and gunk that's built up on your face during the day. I think it has a pleasant scent and I only need 2 pumps. It's lasting quite awhile. For the price it's great. I'll be repurchasing when I run out.

Found this Cleansing Oil as I was just getting into the double cleanse as in the Korean Skin Care routine. This oil actually just melts all of my makeup including waterproof mascara away without being harsh on my skin and doesn't irritate my eyes. I love it!!!!
Rach from Michigan
I love it. I pump it directly onto A washcloth and it works so well; i wear estee lauder double wear and it takes it all off. My skin feels super soft and hydrated after.
Just a quick note: people are saying it doesn't work well with eye makeup and burns-it literally says to keep out of eyes, just an FYI on that.

My go to makeup remover!
Mari from New York
I have oily skin so at first I was really skeptical of oil cleansing but I finally decided to give it a try. Y'all. This stuff is BOMB. I use it to remove my makeup and it gets most of it off, then I continue with the rest of my routine. My skin has been flourishing ever since
Amazing addition to my routine

My Go-To Face Routine
KellyL from Chattanooga, TN
This has been my go-to face care routine for a while now. You MUST research how to do the oil cleansing method in order to fully benefit from this product. It's taken the place of makeup remover, cleanser and moisturizer and balanced my skin. This is a great value too, as one bottle lasts for several weeks, and works just as well as much higher priced cleansing oils.
madi from manteca
I thought I was getting it to remove my mascara and makeup in general but you cant use it on your eyes. it burns and I'm pretty sure it's starting to dry out the outer corners of my eyes. not gonna be using anymore. smells good tho
Heidi from Kingman, AZ
Love it!!!! Almost instantly melts my makeup including waterproof mascara. Leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean.
Eyes sting so bad!

Do not use to remove eye makeup! Holy moly, it stings so bad! I will only use for removing face makeup.
First time user!
Mari from Odessa
I was a little concerned about buying it at first because of the bad reviews. I had never used a cleansing oil before, but let me tell you I loved it!!! Removed my make up so easily. I have oily, sensitive skin and was worried about it getting irritated, but my skin felt clean and soft. Great FIRST step in your cleansing process! Highly recommend
Burns My Eyes

I love this brand but this product just doesn't do it for me. It burns my eyes, doesn't remove mascara well, and I'm pretty sure it made me break out.
FIRST CLEANSER QUEEN
First Cleanser Heaven from Virginia
This is a DEFINITE Dupe for the Claudulie one! Other reviews says it doesn't work on wet face and doesn't cleanse. It's not a face wash; it's to remove makeup. The directions specifically state to use on dry skin and then slowly add water. This plus the Vitamin C Cleanser as Cleanser 2 make my skin feel and look SO GOOD! Like it did when I used proactiv around 12 years ago. I promise you, read the directions and use it as a first cleanse and you'll be so happy!!!'
