Most Helpful Positive Review The best primer/sunscreen ever !
I really like La Roche-Posay and I've been using another sunscreen from this line for many years now. Last week I got this primer/sunscreen for mothers day as a gift. It is AWESOME ! It keeps my oily skin shine free and stays in place for a long time in Las Vegas weather ! It doesn't have color and doesn't cover freckles or discolorations or blemish scars but blurs my pores and fine lines very well and gives me a fresh, matte but not flat ,polished look .It doesn't feel heavy or caky so I can easily use my powder foundation or even liquid foundations on top.And it doesn't make me break out ,which is a big plus for me. For work and routine daily use, I just put it on after my moisturizer ,add a light powder and I'm ready to go.Unless I need more coverage that day ,then I would add foundation on top .If you like to know how the consistency of this product is , It is like a gel powder, more solid than liquid though. I put small dots of it on different parts of my face and then rub it gently with fingers. It spreads very smoothly and absorbs fairly quickly.I've used it for even my under eye area and it neither cracked nor sat in the fine lines.I LOVE this product and will definitely buy this again and again.
Most Helpful Critical Review Be careful
Please don't make the mistake I made and think this contains Mexoryl(ecamsule) like La Roche Posay's SPF 15...it does not. It's basically the same stuff as all the other highly irritating sunscreens (for some of us) you can get at any drug store.I have had more success with La Roche Posay SPF 15 with Mexoryl than any other sunscreen, because it's extremely gentle, non-whitening, and non-oily. It never caused a breakout. This SPF 50, while called Anthelios,is NOT Mexoryl sunscreen. My face tends to dislike non-physical sunscreens, but La Roche Posay has worked for me for a couple of years as long as I don't get it anywhere near my eyes. At first I thought this primer was going to solve my sunscreen + makeup + oiliness issues. Over a couple of weeks I started noticing my usually oily face was uncomfortably dry, and everything I put on it stung to the point where even water was bothering it. I was set to go to the dermatologist, and my husband said, "Have you switched sunscreens lately?" Duh, I thought. Since it was the only thing new in my products I stopped using it to see if my skin got better. After about 3 days, it was its normal, healthy self. This sunscreen has a very strong scent at first - pungent, like alcohol, so be careful without around your eyes! Also, if you have reactions to non-physical sunscreens see if there is a way to try this before you buy it.

IN LOVE WITH THIS

I use this as a primer and As a stand alone product, love how my skin feels
Contains Oxybenzone and octinoxate!
Grossly Disappointed from Georgia
These 2 ingredients are so bad for ocean reefs and aquatic life they have been banned in Hawaii and Key West. I am so disappointed that a company that prides themselves on their quality sunscreen would continue to sell products that are destroying our reefs. Plus extensive research is coming out about oxybenzones are disruptive to your endocrine system. Do your own research. Shame on you La Roche Posay. I was lied too about the quality of this sunscreen.

I love this primer! It makes my pores disappear and it helps with sunscreen.
perfect for african american with oily skin
Jill from BK from Brooklyn NY
Great for me, i have oily skin, so this works well alone or even with makeup
caused a reaction with sensitive skin
Carm from New Orleans,LA
I'd use this product as a primer before my makeup and noticed it just made my skin dry and my foundation cakey. The worst thing that happened that I had a rash like tiny bumps all on my chin after using this product. I research the active ingredients that are in this product and come to find out many people also experience a similar rash. The ingredients are Avobenzone, Homosalate, Octisalate, Octocrylene, Oxybenzone. I hate that I threw away the packaging and can no longer return the product becasue i am very upset I paid this much for a primer that just gives me a rash.
Not happy with the thickness/formula
Kodychynn from Eaton, Ohio 45320
It was recommended by my dermatologist to give this primer a try. The formula was way too thick and drying for my face. Given the cost (expensive), I expected so much better.
PREVENTS SUN BURN, BLURS PORES, AND FEELS SMOOTH
VIVIANA from TEXAS
I AM CURRENTLY ON ACCUTANE AND HAVE DRY SENSITIVE SKIN. I AM NOT SUPPOSE TO BE IN THE SUN BUT ITS SUMMER BUT I HAD TO WITH COVID I NEEDED A VACAY. SO I KNEW I NEEDED EXTRA PROTECTION FOR MY SKIN. I USED THE ANTI AGING PRIMER AND THE ANTHELIOS MILKY BODY SCREE SPF 60. I AM OBSESSED WITH THE PRIMER IT IS SUPER SMOOTH BLURRING OUT YOUR PORES. I ENDED UP SPENDING ABOUT 6 HOURS UNDER THE HOT SUN IN THE WATER. I WAS TERRIFIED TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR THE NEXT DAY. I DIDNT EVEN WANT TO LOOK AT THE DAMAGE. WELL TO MY SURPRISE MY SKIN LOOKED PERFECTLY FINE. I DID NOT HAVE ANY SUN DAMAGE. MY FACE FELT GREAT! AND CAN I ADD I GOT ONE OF THE BEST DARK TANS EVENLY THROUGHOUT MY BODY. I WAS SO RELIEVED AND EVEN GRATEFUL FOR THESE PRODUCTS. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE PROTECTION IT PROVIDED FOR MY SENSITIVE SKIN. IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I bought this product because I cannot find the BBBlur product (Which is wonderful) I thought it would be similar but it felt like I was applying sand to my face. Color of the product made me look pale even under foundation. Also, it is very expensive. Don't waste your money on this product.
Doesn't worth it.
Nay from Los Angeles
The product is super dry, really hard to apply and it doesn't absorb.
Outstanding Anti Aging primer with Sunscreen.
Angel 65 from Wisconsin
This primer is the best ever. It goes on smooth, non greasy and blurs imperfections. I use it under the tinted mineral Anthelios 50 for your face. Totally love how both look together on my face. I am 65 years old and need the cover. I will keep buying it and use it year round.
Best Mat Sunscreen
Chris57 from Naples FL
I have been using the Mat Primer for several years. It's lite and helps to control oil. Best of all it smoothes my skin and pores. I wear it alone with no need for foundation or powder. No touch ups necessary. Great product!
Not a fan.
Angie from MN
It's super thick to apply, and it doesn't absorb. I feel like it's just sitting on top of my skin. Just makes me feel greasy.
Not for outside use, burns my eyes
Lnngld from Florida
The ulta lady insisted that this is what I should get when I was looking for a non-comedogenic face primer with sunscreen... When I first put this on, I also patted it under my eyes to protect that area from the sun... within minutes my eyes started burning and I had to wash my eyes. Also, it's not sweat/water resistant. I only wear sunscreen when I'm going out in the sun, which I will most likely be sweating... so what's the point of a sunscreen that isn't going to hold up in the sun when you start sweating? Disappointing. I guess it's good for when you are going to be inside.....
Not my favorite
Karen N. from Arizona
I wanted to like this product, but I'm not crazy about the texture. This is OK when worn alone, but my normal primer works much better under makeup. I would not purchase again.
Sel05 from Virginia beach
I have been using the spf 50 primer and really like the product
But I find that I can't remove the product from my face with facewash only;how will you recommend to remove the product at night?
Plus I have normal skin;and applying the product directly on the skin without a moisturiser has been working fine for me;I'm I doing the right thing by skipping the moisturiser?
Amazing for Oily Skin
Dee Cal from Huntington Beach, CA
This product is amazing!! I have the oiliest skin ever and I have never been able to find a product that works for the entire day, but this does. I'm so happy I finally found a product that truly works on my oily skin. I did try the La Roche Posay matte daily moisturizer, which did not work for me. If oily skin is your problem this is your answer.
Do not buy it
Vivi from Ca
Had to return it! This product's formulation is totally wrong. It is so dry that I couldn't wear it
Didn't like it
Cony54 from Fort Lauderdale
Didn't work with my oily skin, the worst part makes my pores look awful, the amount of black heads are notorious since using this product
Good SPF antiage cream
Elena P from New York (NY)
A bit greasy when you apply on the serum.
I didn't yet check under the summer sun.
Anti aging Primer

This prime is very good for my skin, which is oily. Nevertheless, you have to use a very good amount of the product in order to have a good coverage .
Best primer with SPF

My skin feels smooth after this. The fact that it protects my face from sun damage is just an extra plus plus

Love Product, Hate Packaging
Mary AM from New York, NY
I'm on my third tube of this over the year and while I love the product, I may look for another primer because narrow, flat tube quickly becomes a product-sucking nightmare. Long before you are near used up with the product, it becomes wedged in the side edges of the tube and very, very hard to dispense. It's worse than the old metal toothpaste tubes in terms of product waste. I wish the marketing/packaging people would fix this. Just round out the tube for Pete's sake!
