Most Helpful Positive Review MUST HAVE If you ask me, this product has earned five stars across the board. For a little information about my skin... (1) I have a very fair complexion with yellow undertones, which makes finding foundation that isn't too pink VERY hard, (2) I live in a climate with all four seasons, so I go from having super oily skin in the summer to cracking skin in the winter, (3) I have sensitive skin that breaks out from almost anything and I get a few hormonal blemishes once in a while, and (4) generally i have an oily t zone but also dry patches on my cheeks and around my mouth.
LET ME JUST TELL YOU that this foundation looks great on both my oily and dry zones, whether it's dry/cold or hot/balmy outside. This foundation doesn't slide off my oily zones or cake up too much around my dry patches. The finish of this product is matte- but not so much that skin looks lifeless. I wear this foundation from 8 AM to 10 PM with little change in it's flawless finish. This product is great.
As for my routine, I wash my face with a mild cleanser (cream or noncomedogenic oil) and then apply an oil-free face lotion all over and gently rub CeraVe into any dry spots. I let that soak in for a few minutes before I lock the moisture in with soothing aloe vera gel. I then apply a matte-ifying face primer to my oily zone. After that, I use a medium size stippling brush to gently and evenly apply a pea sized amount of the product all over my face. If I have any blemishes, I actually just build a little bit of this foundation over them. I then lightly apply translucent face power everywhere, putting on a little extra to my oily spots. I love how this foundation enhances- not hides- the 95% of my skin that is perfect while being able to hide any blemishes at my discretion/application.
All in all, this product can totally be sheer/light coverage or full, depending on how you decide to use it. I could really see this making a great bb cream by mixing it with a little bit of primer and/or lotion. I could also see this being a great, full coverage foundation for those with lots of acne and/or scarring. It's all on how you build it! An additional benefit is SPF, though not high enough for serious protection (sunscreen, after all, is the best preventative anti-aging product!).
Some downfalls to this product... it's PRICY! I'd really recommend learning how to properly apply a clay/mousse consistency liquid foundation for your own skin (lots of experimenting!) before using this product. Another downfall is that I could see this looking cakey if applied too heavily, with the wrong base, or with the wrong applicator.
Most Helpful Critical Review WANTED to love, but didn't... I really wanted to love this foundation after reading all the great reviews, but, after trying it for myself I will be returning it. It truly is a full coverage foundation and looks absolutely beautiful on my skin for the first hour. After an hour it starts to look worse and worse. My skin is oily and when my oils come out and mix with the foundation it just becomes this oily mess all over my face and wipes off if I barely touch my face. DEFINATELY not a long wear foundation like it claims--I had to reapply three other times during my work day! I also had a dried up pimple on my chin which the makeup made look very crusty. I think this foundation would be great for someone with normal skin--but if you have oily, very oily, or very dry skin I think you will be very dissapointed.

It is very think... not full coverage... But I got over it, it doesn't cover dark spots... but my pores are non existent with this foundation... no point of building it doesn't work... the reason I'm giving it 5 stars because after you find the right setting powder and let it settle I can't get over it... for a full look I apply with brush, thinner with sponge... my face does not break out, I thought I wouldn't like it but I fell in love.. I wear it everyday! So far has the best shade match for me and makes my pores look flawless.
PRICE IS SO WORTH IT!! 5
Meg from San Antonio
I hesitated buying this foundation because of the price, but I am so glad I did! I struggled with cystic acne and now I struggle with scarring and hyperpigmentation left over from my acne and this foundation has been through it all. When I had awful breakouts, I could wear this foundation without it caking up around my pimples and without breaking me out. It covers up my scars and make me looks like I have perfect skin!!! The best part: a little goes a long one. I only have to use two pea sized amounts on my face to achieve a full coverage look, which I LOVE because it doesn't clog up my pores. 10/10 recommend!
Love this 5
Sheena from Newyork
I got the color fair beige I have a mix of yellow and pink undertones on fair skin and the color is perfect. This foundation is thick and lasts all day I have also used it in a pool and it stays on, love it!
Don't understand the hype 2
Mace from Salisbury
I don't understand the hype around this foundation...it separated so badly on my skin and made my acne look much worse. The bottle colors are also misleading, my bottle color is much more darker than the product so I also looked like a ghost when wearing it
Too drying for my skin 3
Rhi from Chicago, IL
I love the Tarte brand which is why I was disappointed with this product. It was very drying to my skin and did not blend well for me at all. Had to return it.

Love the feel of this foundation 4
CQ from Mississippi
I purchased this on black Friday since it was on sale. I love the feel and ease of application as well as the control over how much coverage I want. The cost is fhe only drawback for me. But, I will use my go to foundation (neutrogena) for everyday work and this as my "going out" look.
Very good 4

A great buy! 5
Mom of three from Raleigh, NC
I got it because I love the Tarte tape concealer. I love this too. I asked a friend how it looked on me since her makeup is always flawless. She said it looked smoother than my previous foundation.
my new daily foundation 5
Tam from Manteo NC
This is a remarkable foundation. I do apply with a foundation brush. The product goes very far! although upfront cost may seem high, a little goes a long way. This foundation wears nicely on my skin and is a great medium coverage. I does not cake or feel heavy on my skin. Lasts all day.
Oxidizes BAD 1
Nanz1lla from Phoenix, AZ
Purchased this foundation since it doesn't have that harsh of Ingredients for my sensitive acne prone skin. I wanted to like it but it didn't not work out for me at all. It defines all the dry patches and my pores even though I use a pore erasing primer. After 5 hours or so of wearing it starts to oxidize really bad making me look super greasy which is weird since I have dry skin. Doesn't cover my acne or redness at all. Sucks cause this foundation has good reviews, oh well.
great coverage but cakey & textured 3
Lacey from San Antonio, TX
I wanted to like this product SO bad because I loved the amount of product it had for the price as it is cheaper than some of my other foundations. I will say that it is full coverage, however it does not sit well. No matter how much I try & work with this product it makes everything look so dry & it never makes my skin look smooth, completely clings on to my texture & oxidizes. Even my Laura Mercier powder couldn't save this foundation routine, I ended up giving the product to my sister, who struggles with acne & likes full coverage foundations. She seemed to like it okay but didn't repurchase.
GOLD 5
Toebee from Benton Ar
Wore this 8 hours and it looks like it did when I first applied it. My skin is typically dry, but I get oily in my T-zone. & the face primer I used was just the NYX green tinted one. I didn't use much product at all to cover my whole face, and it's not cakey. Feels like my skin & doesn't transfer. I will forever use this.
My new Makeup! 5
Honeybee from Tennessee
Just got this and tried it and love it. Good coverage and lightweight on the face. Covers everything I need it to and long lasting. Still looks just as good at the end of the day. I previously used Estee Lauder double wear. The shade I got in the Tarte matches my skin so good. This is my new makeup!
Great lasting. Coverage 5

FULL coverage 5
Miranda from PA
Perfect foundation for full coverage without the cakeiness, which is so hard to come by
Smooth application 4
Makeup from Indiana
This product goes on smoothly and is easy to blend. However, it is not full coverage in my opinion compared to other products I have used.

its not actual full coverage doesnt really cover that well but it stays on all day and looks good all day on face not cakey or oily
2nd time trying it 1
Carrie from Riverside Ca
I originally had this foundation a few years ago and was on the fence about it then. I got rid of it because it expired. So when they were having holiday specials I picked it up again!!!! I returned it 3 days later. Now I know why it never really stuck in my mind ... because this is a horrible foundation
Dark spot covered 4

It covers up dark spots pretty well. I've been using this product for quite some time and like it.
