Most Helpful Positive Review Great powder! Love it, light weight, I have oily/combination skin, lasts all day. Use tarte tinted moisturizer under and concealer. Also recommend using the airbuki brush for it, its pricy but will last long time. Like that it's natural sunscreen, I'm driving all day for work in the desert, so I feel more protected and no allergies to the powder and no breakouts.
Most Helpful Critical Review Expected more from Tarte I was so, so disappointed with this product! As a long time user of mineral makeup, I was ready to switch it up when it came to powders since I love Tarte! But I was so surprised and upset when it immediately caused major cystic acne all over my cheeks and jawline! Within one week my skin went from being balanced to looking like a greasy pizza. I read the ingredients to try and find out what could be the cause, and then I found it: Bismuth. My facialist warned me about this ingredient, telling me that it frequently causes acne and itchiness. So disappointed that Tarte put this ingredient in their powder! I can't use it anymore, and now I know to read ingredients before assuming a product is healthy just because of the brand name.

I've got very acne-prone skin with lots of blackheads, but this really covered my skin and made it look natural!

I purchased this half price during black Friday to try out all the tarte foundations, I have never really used a powder foundation alone & I was not splurging $30 for the brush that goes with it, if they go together they should come together that's absurd, anyway I have melasma and freckles so I thought at the very least I could use it over my foundation for extra coverage where I needed it, my first try was just powder and it did nothing but matte my face, very little pigment no matter how much I piled on, now I have dry 35 year old skin so it's probably not the best canvas but I have a pretty good skin care routine at night & before makeup but usually I can't wear very much powder so I very lightly dusted over the places I wanted extra coverage & it was cake city, I'm really disappointed this is considered a "medium to full coverage product" because it's a tinted cream of powders if anything, barely there.
Better than The rest 5

With wearing a mask all day at work- I wanted something lighter to wear. I use a primer then dust this on and it works better than other mineral type powder.
Would not buy this again 1

I have combination sensitive skin so finding a foundation is always pretty hard because I don't usually wear foundation but I loved this one never tried a powder foundation and I love the finish on my skin it's beautiful and soft
Not for me 2

Just did not turn out how I thought. No matter how I applied it I ended up with cakey finish, emphasized pores, and an odd texture. I liked the idea and the packaging but it just didn't work with my skin and was definitely not full coverage for me. I have been using powders my whole life also and I've never broken out from a powder before, this left my skin broken out terribly after about 2 weeks of use. The one pro to this product is that it did seem to be very long lasting and didn't transfer like a lot of powders do.
Amazing! 5

I have large pores and every foundation I was trying were making them so noticeable. So I decided to try the powder route and I LOVE this! Perfect coverage and does not settle into my pores!
My favorite foundation 5
Edoc from Michigan
This is the only foundation I can use that won't stick to my dry skin and make pores look huge. I love it!
Great Coverage 5

a little bit goes a long way but works beautifully with "color" and wasn't very the exact same powder but translucent and was not as happy.

By far one of the best products out there. I love tarte products but if you are looking for a matte/ full blemish coverage this is it!!
loved it for years 5

Been using this for years. As far as getting it out, you need to press against the mesh with a stiff kabuki brush like the Tarte Airbuki. I love how nice it looks on my skin and I don't need to use all sorts of specials primers, just my moisturizer and done.

I have a combination of oily skin. The Amazon clay mat foundation goes on smooth over my liquid foundation. I prevents my skin from not too much of oiliness.
I will buy this again 5

I did get the wrong color first and I was able to return it to the store and the girl that helped me knew what she was doing.
This is my second container and I'll keep buying! 5

I recommend using a light primer before and a setting spray after. You get a natural buildable long lasting coverage with this foundation without cream and cake.

Combo Skin Must Have! 5
Miyako from I travel a lot
My skin is combo, rosacea, extremely sensitive. I've been using this product from my early 20s and I'm currently 35. I've used it in humid hot sticky weather to extremely hot and dry weather and also freezing cold weather, but mind you I pride myself on my skincare (Korean based 10 step) and I set my base for this foundation sometimes simply using just a good moisturizer or a combo of moisturizer and a great primer but mostly combo moisturizer and primer (I use hourglass mineral veil primer). This has worked for me every time in all those circumstances. It doesn't oxidize and it doesn't cake as long as you don't cake it on (lol). It's buildable so caking it on really thick is unnecessary because it's mineral based anyway and has a really natural yet full coverage look to it. It surprised me in that way too. The buildable coverage allows for that customizable finish you want so light or full it's up to you but it will absolutely cover any flaws no matter what, and it will definitely last all day no need for setting powder but I do recommend a setting spray for a 24 hour hold. I also recommend blotting sponges for extremely oily areas or oily prone skin types for touch ups throughout the day, especially if you're going to special events or it's very hot or humid. All in all I highly recommend this product.
Holy grail product 5

After reading other reviews I was a little worried to try this product but took a chance anyways and I am SO GLAD I did! I hate liquid foundation and feeling like some thing is caked on my face. I like powder based products instead but they either look too powdery or lack coverage. Not this!! It applies and feels like nothing is there but provides full coverage. It's all you need to pop on and be out the door! I actually love the fact you can't just pour any into the lid. When you use the tarte powder brush it recommends, it dispenses they perfect amount onto the brush for you. It keeps the container nice and neat without using an excess amount. I will definitely be a repeat buyer!
Disappointed 1

I was very disappointed in this product. I love the liquid amazonian clay, so I was really excited to try this. Unfortunately I couldnt test it so I just got the same color that I do in the liquid. This powder looks unbearably orange on my skin. I dont think I will ever use it.
I love this product! 5

Ugh... 1

First and foremost, I do not like the container. While it looks cool, it's messy and highly unpractical. You turn it upside down to get the powder out, while the cap is still on. Powder still gets stuck between the center piece of the lid and the sides. Really hard to get it out causing what you cannot get out, to fall onto the main portion of the container when closing. So... it's in all the crackers and crevices of the lid and container PLUS the outside. Trying to figure out why it doesn't have a twist close like the other loose powders. That middle piece of the lid needs to go. Coverage is good, however, after a couple of hours my oil breaks through the foundation, even with Smashbox's mattifying stick primer. I'm no longer matte and I'm creasing, the foundation is moving, and it looks very light where it has collected. Wanted to love this, I really did. It just didn't work well for me. I do LOVE your Shape Tape presser powder foundation.
Love it! 5

I have oily, acne prone skin and I've used tarte clay liquid foundation in the past. I wanted something lighter for summer so I went with this. I have really loved it. Medium coverage and it lasts all day.
This is my summer go-to Foundation! 5
Agent Snogpitch from Olathe, KS
I actually bought this as a "gift" to pay my best friend, an esthetician for giving me a facial at home. That being said -- it's my go to foundation for the summer time, when the regular liquid Amazonian Clay Foundation is a bit much with my sweating. (Though the translucent Amazonian Clay LOOSE Setting Powder is a Godsend!) But yeah -- my BFF asked me to pick up some "powder" for her, and she actually specified this, when I was expecting her to as for the setting powder. So I believe SHE actually uses it on TOP OF the liquid version as a powder. So...really, it depends on your preference and skin type, I suppose, but I definitely recommend the entire Amazonian Clay line. Not one product I have no liked. (Though I prefer the loose setting powder for everyday use. The pressed setting powder doesn't seem to go as far/brush on as easily, but it's definitely nice to have the compact for the pressed powder with its own mirror and brush and lack of mess for my purse, too. So, really, get one of each, if you can! Or travel sizes!)
I've been using this for over 4 years 5

It's my absolute favorite foundation. It covers beautifully without looking cakey. I pair this with colourpop's tinted moisturizer & I'm good to go all day. I also love the style of the container with the kabuki brush. You get exactly what you need on the brush & don't have to worry about dumping it all out any time you need to travel with it. It also lasts forever so I don't find the price too high.
I would but this product again 4

I love this product! I usually wear light sand but have more of a tan now. What would you recommend as the next shade darker?
