Most Helpful Positive Review ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!!! I have used several different brands of paddle brushes in the past and never really liked them. They were bulky, heavy, and large. Also, the temperature gauges never worked and the brushes would get really hot which wasn't good for my thinner hair. This brush is amazing!!! It is smaller (which is nice for shoulder length hair), more lightweight than all the others I have used, and best of all, the temperature gauge works beautifully. It keeps the temperature at a lower setting so I don't damage my hair. LOVE IT.
Most Helpful Critical Review It's okay... I previously had an old version of the Instyler straightening brush, but the bristles were breaking off, and I wanted to try a different brand without breaking the bank. I went with this one, rather than the Revlon option, because of the BaByliss name. Compared to what I was used to, it feels light-weight and kind of dinky/cheap in my hand. It does the job, but not as well, and not as fast as my previous straightening brush. I section my hair to straighten, but I have to make more passes than I had to with my last one, and the Aquage still doesn't fully straighten my hair. I have thick, semi-wavy fine-to-normal hair, and it looks decent enough after straightening that I am keeping the product, but next time, I will splurge for the high end one.

Received this brush as a Christmas gift. I really liked it once I learned to use it properly. Unfortunately, it completely died after 3 months! I wish I would have kept the box!
This is a time saver! 5

My hair dresser used this on me last time prior to using the flat iron. I decided to purchase this. I am so happy. It saves me a great amount of time. If my hair gets a wavy from sleep or humidity, this will take it back to its sleek shine. I have used it for straightening as it gets close to the roots. My husband even remarked how it keeps my hair looking its best.

To turn on, press scroller. Wait 5 mins before styling. To turn off, hold down scroller. I have wavy medium-full hair. Hair will look naturally straight, not poofy but not dead. Gets very close to roots. You'll learn as you use it, took about 3 tries. Saves time, never causes breakage. You can't burn yourself touching it.
Smooths and straightens my hair 4

I prefer using the Aquage over my straight iron, because it causes less damage. The heat from the paddle brush only touches the underside of my hair, so the topside of the strands can't fry. My hair is bleach blonde so I'm particularly cautious when using heat, and I've been quite happy with the results. I use a firm bristle hair coloring applicator brush(long skinny handle with bristles on the end) to dust the paddle after use. It's the only thing I've found to help keep it gunk-free.
Great tool for quickly straightening roots close to scalp 5

I should preface this review by saying I have unmanageable frizzy hair that I chemically straighten twice a year. The Babyliss hair brush straightener is great for getting those kinks out from my roots close to the scalp and without burning. I love this tool for second and third day touch ups also. My hair lays flat and smooth after using this. This tool stretches out the time between my chemical straighteners as well. Very happy with this product!!

I never used a tool like this before and have very think curly frizzy hair. I thought it would help to calm my hair after I blow dry since I typically get pouffy. First I agree with other reviews that there is no on/ off switch which is the dumbest thing! So unsafe. After pressing everything I found it finally. Just press the scroll wheel and the number will light up. I couldn't turn it off so just unplugged it. It did get hot quickly and I ran it over my hair in sections. It seemed to do the trick. Not sure yet I'm keeping it but it wasn't too costly so will probably keep it. Will definitely read more reviews the next time.
I love this! 5

I love this product. I have curly hair, and I do not always have time to straighten it. I cannot go completely natural due to frizz. This helps me control my hair in a timely manner. I do wish it had a slightly higher temperature. Overall. I love it.

NOPE 1

This didn't even get hot enough to do anything to my hair. There is literally no difference between this product and using a warm brush to comb your hair. I returned it.
Actually works 5

I never thought I'd find a brush straightener that worked but this one really does work. I have wavy to curly long relatively thick hair, and this worked on me amazingly. What I love best about it is that it give volume to my hair and gives the illusion of blow drying it straight but without the struggle. My only complaint is that it doesn't straighten the tips of my hair but I've also found that if I can hold the ends taught until it passes through the brush, I end up with better results. I also suggest to section ur hair as if ur flat ironing ur hair. If u just try to use it like a regular hair brush then it won't work. Oh and the price on this item is also a bargain for the results it delivers.

Does work quite as well as straightener but leaves more body in hair
Not worth it! 1
Joy from Gretna, LA
I was excited to purchase it to help reduce time for smooth looking hair. However was disappointed the brush did not even begin to heat. The turning knob to adjust the temperature just keeps rolling without no clicks like it would turn brush on. I even switch outlets to make sure it was not my plug. I will be returning the brush for refund.
Complete fail product 1

This looked like it would be perfect! It is junk. Too light to believe it would really do much. It is not heating up (back it goes to the store). There is no UL sticker, no ON light, there is a wheel which apparently is the On/Off and the dial for heat strength. The wheel does not click on or off, you have no idea what it is (on? off?). No way to tell as you spin the wheel what temp you are at (not marked). That wheel just spins forever in either direction with no heat at all. Waited many minutes for heat although insert states heat up in less than one minute. At this price, Ulta ought to be embarrassed to sell this product. My first and last Babyliss product. I thought Babyliss was a quality company.
Best purchase ever!!! 5

I did not expect this to work at all. So much so that I kept the packaging, bag and receipt in preparation to return it. I have really thick, coarse, curly hair. I was desperate to find something that would save me from heading to the salon and this is definitely it! I parted my hair into sections and worked through. It instantly smoothed and straightened my hair. I was even able to get my edges! It doesn't bump the ends, but this cut my styling time in half. I used it at the highest temp, 400, but it never got too hot to touch and handle.
Obsessed! 5

I have super curly, thick hair and have been trying to find something to help me manage my hair quick and this product did it! Well worth it!
I wouldn't spend the money 1

I have thin, wavy hair. I purchased this product to be able to "brush out" the waves and any "bumps" from sleep the night before and to brush through the bumps caused by ponytail holders during a quick workout or from having my hair pulled back during work before going out. Unfortunately, it doesn't straighten the bumps even on the highest setting. My hair then gets frizzy and broken on the ends. I need to use a full straightener which defeats the purpose of purchasing this product to have one less item to carry with me.
Great Styling Tool! 4

I like how easy it was to use. Gentle on my hair and no frizz.
It heats up super fast!
So easy to use 5
stamper from baltilmore
I like that you can choose a heat setting, just like many straighteners. But this is easy to use. I just start underneath and brush like I normally brush my hair. I lift up some sections and brush there. Then I smooth it over the top to get the frizzy fly-aways. So easy! It also takes up not much more room than a hair brush - just a little extra for the cord.

It's light, easy to use, and gets the job done. I love it and tames my unruly hair.

I've tried other paddle brushes a couple of years ago and threw them both out ! Thought it give it ago again and glad I did . I have fine hair-but a lot of it and it's generally fluffy/frizzy without straightening. My long weird hair takes 5 min to style with this brush. It keeps volume and movement with smoothing it out. I also got my 73 year old mother to give it a try and she's ordering one! The ease of use is a plus for her. Just great product.
Love this product! 5

Originally bought this for my daughters hair so I didn't have to use my ghd flat iron on it. Worked fantastic and her hair is so silky afterwards. Then figured I'd try it on mine assuming it wouldn't work well since I've got a shorter cut and super thick hair but I was pleasantly surprised! Worked so good! And gave me added volume which is always a plus!
