Most Helpful Positive Review Love this essence! I haven't ordered this product from Ulta, but I purchased it from elsewhere, but I highly recommend this essence.
Please note, because this essence not formulated like a moisturizer, unless it's very humid or hot or you have normally hydrated skin, this will NOT be a replacement for your moisturizer. Essences are just additional hydrating steps BEFORE your moisturizer. Also, for sensitive skin types who react badly to AHA/Alpha Hydroxy Acids (i.e. lactic acid, glycolic acid, etc.), there's a potential chance for irritation as snail mucin has a very low dose of naturally occurring AHA. Allergies to shellfish/mollusks and dust mites may also not have the best reaction to snail mucin either.
Anyway, this stuff keeps my skin soft and is a protective step for the winter air for me currently. It also soothes my angry acne when I pick. It's also safe to put under the eye (test this before trying, of course), so I use it as an extra layer of moisture before my eye cream. I use four pumps which is one more pump than you really need, but I like a thick layer of this stuff. My skin just drinks it up. I spray Mario Badescu's Rosewater mist on my skin first, so it soaks in even faster.
Most Helpful Critical Review Could be fabulous for some people. I am 52 and have never been able to use any kind of anti-aging products, I'm getting a little desperate cause my skin is still oily and acne prone plus sensitive. This is light but sticky for 20-30 minutes, it plumps up your skin, it's nice, but it is breaking out my forehead. I'm keeping it to use around my eyes and my neck to see if it does any long term anti aging.

I use this product after my toner and before my serums. It's really hydrating and works great with my other products. It's definitely one of my favorites from this brand. I will be incorporating this long term in my routine and would 100% recommend it!

It was kind of moisturizing, I guess? Really didn't do much moisture-wise for me. After a few days I developed a rash from it and had to discontinue use. Bummer because everyone seems to love it!

I was looking for a good essence and i came across it. Everytime i applied it on my face it would burn and my skin would react to it. I tried it for couple of days but there was no improvement. Not worth the hype!!

The first night I got it I "patch tested" by putting it on half my face. (I know that's not how you're supposed to do it) anyway, when I woke up I was blown away by how good my skin looked! On the non-snail side I used a regular HA serum under moisturizer and it did not compare at all. My skin was plumped up and the texture was smoother on my cheeks and I had a nice glow on the snail side. I've been using it a little over a month now and the fine lines I was starting to get on my forehead have gone away, my skin has a beautiful glow and in the words of another reviewer, I feel like a "plump little cherub". I find it works best for me for nighttime use, as I am on the oilier side, and during the day it can make me a little too glossy. If your skin is dehydrated, consider adding this to your routine!

I am a skin care addict and I have tried many different products and this did nothing for me. It doesn't provide more hydration than much cheaper products. I also don't like the texture, while using the product and after. Slimy and sticky! I never would reach for this but the I recently decided to try to use it up and I noticed i started to break out!! That being said I'm not going to use it anymore and I'm super disappointed.
I do not know what makes this special but my skin loves it. 5

decided to add it back, and it does add something.

You want that healthy glow? Glass skin? Give this stuff a try. I mix mine with propolis and have had people ask me what makeup I was wearing on no makeup days! Also very hydrating / plumping, and can help smooth out rough texture. Permanent staple in my routine from here on. For a little extra oompf and soothing, I pair it with their Snail 92 gel overnight on occasion.

I am white and had combo-oily skin with acne. I saw this on social media and took a chance. I was super nervous because of the price and the obvious fact that it's snail mucus. Best decision ever!! I had low to moderate breakouts relatively often and what I think was a (very) damaged skin barrier where my skin was constantly red and irritated. My pores were constantly opened up and obvious no matter what I did and while I'm still young and had no wrinkles or lines, I did have some texture problems and scarring. Now, I know for a fact that generally all skincare takes great periods of constant use to work but after one night of using this in my night routine, my entire face changed. I woke up and my texture problems were entirely gone, my face was not oily the ENTIRE day, even up into the time that I showered and did my night routine, and my pores were nonexistent. I've never even written a review before but this is a MIRACLE product. I've only used it two days now but I don't think I'll ever stop. I use a light toner on my face before showering (if I'm not wearing makeup), shower and cleanse my face with a face wash, use the ordinary glycolic acid toner, use this fantastic product, use the ordinary niacinimide, use the bliss gel to water moisturizer, a couple spritzes of rose water, and my skin glows and stays perfect the entire next day. If you're considering this, buy it!

I love this product so much. I have acne prone skin and baby it's dry. So I started fresh with new products and decided to use this. Omg I'm so glad this is in my routine. My face is super hydrated and I love the slimy texture lol. I use it every day, I pair this with snail cream *chef kiss*. Bomb.

This is my all-time favorite skin care product. EVER. If I were stuck on a deserted island I would bring a Swiss army knife and this amazing elixir of goodness. Healing, hydrating, firming - this does it all. I've used SKII and La Mer essences but COSRX has it going on! BTW, their snail sunscreen (yellow bottle) and low ph BHA overnight mask are amazing too. Rock on K-beauty!

I have dry to normal skin witch can also be sensitive to some products. I went on a hunt to find a good skin essence and when I came across this i decided to try it since it's not that expensive. I've already used two bottles of this product and it truly helped my skin with moisture. If you are looking to try this product go ahead you won't be disappointed.

It's a good hydrating serum/essence, but nothing special, and probably a bit overpriced. If you're looking for a good hydrating serum, I've gotten as good if not better results with the ordinary hyaluronic acid serum and the revolution skincare cica serum.

I don't know why I didn't try this product before. I have really dry skin and I use this everyday after applying Hyaluronic Acid. The acid is very hydrating but since my skin is super dry, I feel like I need an extra layer of hydration and so I apply the Mucin. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin plump and very hydrated. I apply this during the morning and night and I have noticed my skin looking more hydrated where I had dry areas. Some people say it helps with acne but since my skin is very clear and I only get some hormonal pimples during that time of the month, I can't really say anything about that. Nevertheless, I recommend it 100% if you have dry skin.

This absorbs well into my skin and seems to calm my redness after washing my face. The texture feels a bit weird but doesn't stick to your face like you think it would. This will definitely be kept in my daily routine from now on.

Within the first two days of using this it has greatly reduced by breakout. I have dry/normal skin but damaged my skin barrier with too much Thayers witch hazel, was spraying that on my face literally multiple times throughout the day because I thought it felt nice and people in the reviews for Thayers said they did. All it did was break my barrier and made me so oily because I was just wicking up all the oil with that toner. Anyways, now I have fungal acne and some inflamed breakouts and now CC from a cream I used.
This really calmed it all down and flattened some of the smaller red bumps. After a week and a half of use it's all flattened now.
Amazing if your skin isn't allergic to snail mucus. Even though it's FA safe, some people are allergic so it makes them breakout more

I really wanted to love this product, especially after seeing all the great reviews. I have fairly sensitive skin and read that this was a good addition (or holy grail product) for a Malassezia. After a few test spots everything seemed fine, but when I applied it to my face a few times a week, I started noticing breakouts in the areas I was applying it. I gave it a few more tries, but it got worse. It also left a really weird texture on my hands, which I kind of expected, but it felt like it was just laying on top of my skin. This was my first CosRX product so I am super bummed it didn't work out. I'm a little intimidated about trying others since my skin reacted so weirdly. I'd say to definitely do some test spots, especially if you have sensitive/oily prone skin!

I use this product 2x a day after I do my double cleanse and after toner(if I use one). The texture is soft and it makes your skin feel really nice. I'm on my second bottle and will continue to repurchase.

I may have already written a review of this product but it's so good it deserves a second! This is my second bottle and it's a miracle worker. I've got oily skin with hormonal cystic acne around my jawline and this serum has cleared up 85% of my breakouts. I use it morning and night and it wears well under my makeup. I do find it a bit sticky on dry skin but I've found that if apply it to damp skin, once it dries the stickiness is gone. I will always use this product!

I actually tried this when I found it in my bathroom (my sisters) and I immediately loved the results. I suffer from clogged pores around my nose specifically and my forehead looks dull. After using it my skin looked smoother with a glow. It can dry your skin so I usually use it before bed and then moisturize with a good moisturizer in the morning (belief true aqua bomb). I usually alternate my skin care products so my skin doesn't get irritated with too much exfoliation.

This product is great! I got it on sale during the 21 days of beauty in 2019. It's great for 50% off, but I'd say you could find a comparable product for cheaper from The Ordinary (think: Matrixyl, HA serum, etc).

I have been using this product for about six months. I added this to my routine to be used after I cleanse to add moisture back to my skin. This has definitely exceeded my expectations. It not only adds moisture to my skin but has improved my skin's texture. I have only used about 1/4 of the bottle so a little goes along way && it's definitely a steal at that price point. If you're looking for something to benefit your skin in multiple categories this is definitely worth trying. I would also like to note that I have pretty sensitive and dry skin and this caused zero irritation.

I have acne prone skin and I can get dry at times, this worked WONDERS for fading my hyperpigmentation/acne scars. There are a lot of benefits to this product but fading my scars is the best one yet.

I was a little hesitant to use this, but I wish I had tried it sooner! It helped with the dry parts of my face (I have combination skin) and helped heal a lot of my acne. I apply it with a damp face to lock moisture in.
