A mixed review

Comments about Murad Acne Control Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 / PA++:

So I bought this per the recommendation of an associate, and I was very excited to try it! Biggest downfall for me was that for the cost it wasn't as effective as I needed.

The moisturizer itself doesn't spread very easily, so you end up using a lot of rubbing really hard to get it in. In this regard, not worth the money.

However, it did do a VERY good job mattifying my skin throughout the day. It didn't feel like there was any extra layers on my skin, and it also didn't make me break out at all.

I do love it, but my money as a college student might be more efficiently spent elsewhere.

This is a great mousturizer and primer. It's gentle on my rosacea however I don't necessarily see how it's mattifying- my skin still looks oily in my t zone by the end of the day but it may be my make up or the summer sun.

I am 60 years old and still have oily skin. I have been looking for a mattifying product for a very long time. This is the first one that has worked effectively for me. I took a chance based on the reviews and I am glad I did. It is pricey but if something works, then it is worth every penny. I am thrilled that my makeup stays on for longer than a couple hours. Thank you, Murad, for a great product.

Comments about Murad Acne Control Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 / PA++:

I've been using this moisturizer for a little over a year. I've tried several others and keep coming back to this one. My skin is naturally oily and this moisturizer does a great job at reducing oiliness. I also have mild occasional acne, and this product has not caused breakouts. I don't know if it's healed existing acne. The only complaints I've had with it are the consistency - it's pretty thick and takes a minute to spread/absorb, and it doesn't smell that great. I've gotten past those few cons, though, because the pros greatly outweigh them.

Not good. It is very hard to spread on my face, made me more oily in just an hour, and caused my makeup (tried with mineral powder foundation and with cream foundation) break up/become splotchy.

Comments about Murad Acne Control Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 / PA++:

Maybe this works for really oily skin but it doesn't work on combination skin. My skin feels dry but still looks oily when I use this and it's not easy to rub on skin I feel like I'm always tugging on my skin to apply. The only times it works for me is if I wash my face with a cream cleanser before. Product name is fitting but description says moisturizer and it doesn't do that for me.

I had the hardest time finding an SPF moisturizer that didn't make my combination and acne-prone skin even worse. THIS is the answer I've been looking for!!! It does have a light sunscreen smell to it, but you only need a small amount for a good amount of coverage. My favorite part is that it has controlled oil and shine throughout the day. It is a great primer as well. I don't even use the entire Murad line (yet!) and it has delivered amazing results.

No, this will not help with the treatment of acne. Our Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 PA++ helps to regulate oil production and reduces shine. This product is great since it leaves a matte finish.

I have skin that is prone to painful cystic acne. I was wondering which murad product or any product in your store that would moisturize my face without drying it out or causing this type of acne? I have tried some products and just throwing money out the window.

It can be good for combination skin. Because it's very mattifing some people who are drier in certain areas of their face like to use this in their T-Zone and a more hydrating moisturizer on the drier areas.
