Most Helpful Critical Review Be careful when using this product
The mask is very lightweight, easy to apply, smells great! My skin was smooth after using it. However, because it has pumice, it can be very abrasive. I used it as a mask, and when I took it off, because of the pumice, I ended up over exfoliating my skin. Now I'm all red and sensitive! So, if you want to use it as a mask, or even just as a wash, make sure to wash it off carefully. And, as always, moisturize your skin afterwards.

It makes my skin perfect when used as an exfoliating face wash. This and some witch hazel is all I need to keep my face even and clear
Mainly using as an exfoliant

The product can feel a little aggressive on the skin but it's great for if you have oily skin + areas that have visible pores and black heads. My skin texture is smoother for sure with this.
Hands down best cheap clay mask

My husband and I both have oily sensitive skin. This is one of our favorite go to in the shower products. We use it as a mask and shower, or just use it as a facial wash some days. It has improved the oil production without stripping. Super recommend!!

You can't beat this for the price. Works so well. I used it as a mask and it left my skin SO smooth. Will buy again and again!

Love this Product! My skin is clean, refreshed and glowing after using it.
Not for me
Sydney from Wisconsin
It seems like this product is a hit or miss for those with sensitive skin. For me, I had an allergic reaction to this mask and I broke out. Now my face feels like dried out leather and I've been having to reapply moisturizer every couple of hours. Thankfully though the redness wasn't that bad since I didn't leave the mask on for more than 5 minutes. If you have sensitive skin, make sure you do a patch test first with this product!
MY GO TO FOR ACNE
Julie lol from San Antonio
This is literally apart of my everyday skin routine! I wash my face with it everyday and when I break out I will use it as a mask... and I swear the breaks out will be so small by the next day. Mind you, I have pretty decent skin that doesn't break out but hormonal acne is definitely present with me haha. BUT CAUTION QUEENS: this stuff will dry your face out!!! Small price to pay for the wonders it does and can definitely be fixed with some rose water :)
Beware if you have sensitive skin!

I have sensitive combo skin with occasional break outs. I used this scrub for about 3 months before i noticed the damage it was causing. I had been using it 2-3 times a week, thinking that it was helping my breakouts, when i stopped using it for a while. A few days after I stopped using it, my breakouts disappeared. The scrub made my skin break out and left it chapped and irritated. A scrub as harsh as this one can cause serious damage, especially to sensitive skin. It might work for someone else, but for me it wasn't worth the hype.

Go to for exfoliation
Lilly from Memphis, TN
This says it can be used as a daily cleanser/scrub or as a mask. I first tried one of the sachets as a mask. Not necessarily impressed. I was blown away when I decided to bring it in the shower and use it as a scrub. It makes you feel revitalized and so clean. I've been using this since 2016, and I have turned so many family members onto this. It is perfect for a nice gentle exfoliation. I use it in the shower because I use it on my face and neck, so it's just easier that way. It's so affordable, and it's pretty accessible. My only negative is that if you're clumsy like me and drop it a lot, the plastic cap can have chunks missing.
Good but Beware

I bought this product about a year and a half ago after seeing some posts about it. After my first use, I immediately had mixed feelings. It left my skin feeling tight and dry but also so smooth and even toned. It gave the appearance I liked, just not the feel. Honestly, the dryness could be solved with a moisturizer- but it's understandable if you want a product that does it all.
(do not use if you have dry skin)
After a while of inconsistently using this scrub, I've found a 'routine' that works for me and my combination skin.
Step 1- Do apply to damp skin. This is best applied to damp skin. I use it in the shower because then there's lots of humidity to make sure the mask doesn't dry down uncomfortably (which it will if you don't prevent that).
Step 2- Do only wear for a short time. My max is 5-10 minutes and then I immediately take it off because even with the added humidity, it makes my skin feel irritated.
Step 3- Do be patient when removing. Honestly this is a hard step for me haha. The removal process is not only time consuming but messy as well. My bathroom always ends up soaking wet afterwards lol. For that reason, please use only if you have time on your hands and a positive attitude. Listen to fun music while you're doing this or watch funny videos.
Step 4- Do (please please please) use a heavy moisturizer afterwards. Your skin is going to be dry. Very dry. Maybe even itchy dry. So you're going to need a thick moisturizer to soothe and to help your skin glow even brighter (oh yeah, did I mention this mask makes your skin glow?)
Step 5- Do only use occasionally. This goes especially for sensitive skin. This is an **Apple Cider Vinegar** mask. ACV is a very harsh ingredient so there's no need to use this every night because it'll only cause damage. I only use this mask once every 2 weeks IF THAT.
While I do enjoy this product, it's good.. for a drugstore mask. If you can, go for a safer, less harsh alternative.
If not, this is good! Just beware!
READ...Don't do it
Rena from Detroit, Michigan
I used this product before reading the reviews. My skin can basically handle anything. HOWEVER, as soon as I put the mask on my face, my eyes were BURNING. After 2 minutes, my face started BURNING a lot. It was hard to rinse off, I tried not to rub so hard because the grains were rough. Afterwards, my face was RED and HOT. It did leave it soft, haha but I wouldn't risk it again.
I use this as an exfoliator instead
Jasmine from Brooklyn, NY
This is one of my favorite products to use as an exfoliator. It's a bit too harsh and drying to use as a mask for my skin. As an exfoliator, I love how smooth it makes my skin feel. I use it once a week in the shower and it helps remove dead skin and clear my pores.
Riley from Broken arrow
This product smells really nice and looks really nice but don't let it fool you. The little scrubs in it can scratch your skin up. But it does leave your face feeling mad and helps with some breakouts.
Better with time

I have been using this for a couple months and it's best use as a face wash in the showers and not a mask.
Amazing cleanser and exfoliator

Smells amazing. Always feel super fresh and clean after I use it. Probably one of my favorite face masks especially from this brand (not to mention it's affordable)
This product gave me chemical burns all over my face
Julia from Chicago, Illinois
I followed the instructions and put this mask on my face and let it dry for approximately 10-15 minutes. It felt like a normal mask, and everything seemed fine. Upon taking it off, I noticed my face was a little red; again, this can be kind of normal after a mask, so I didn't think anything of it. I went to bed, and when I woke up my face looked like I had been simultaneously attacked by mosquitoes and sunburned. I have NEVER had an allergic reaction (or reaction of any kind, for that matter) to any beauty product, so I would say that I absolutely do not have sensitive skin. That's what makes this product so terrifying. If someone who's never had a bad reaction can get chemical burns as badly as I did, imagine how bad it could be for someone WITH sensitive skin. Please use caution if you're trying this product. Test it out with a small sample on a separate area of your body before putting it all over your face. And just straight up avoid this product if you have even remotely sensitive skin.

Very Good although the scent is very strong. Good for my mostly oily, combination skin.

This product has a strong scent which caused me to get a rash. It also dried out my skin completely
Love it! ❤️

I love the smell, it smells like fresh apples. It helps tone my skin ( I get red dots/ uneven skin tone ) and the scrub helps the bumps on my forehead.

I kept hearing that ACV can help with alleviating acne, redness, hyperpigmentation, ect. However, this mask did nothing for me. Very abrasive and drying. If you're looking for an alternative I recommend using the Indian Aztec Healing Mask with some ACV.
My favorite face wash!
Jay from Albuquerque
I have combination skin and this stuff is a life saver for me! I've been using it for over a year, and I can't tell you how much of a difference it makes for me. I am 26 and still have break outs pretty badly and this face wash is the only thing that keeps my face clear. I do use it only 3x a week and use another face wash the other days but it's my favorite and I will continue to use it.
I will always use this product
Dee Gee from Macon, GA
I have been using this product for 1 month. Prior to this product I wore foundation to even my skin tone, now I don't need foundation. I use it as a mask once per week and a scrub every other day. After use I use my cocoa butter creme as moisturizer. On the days I don't use the scrub I use African Black soap. I am loving my skin these days.
Do not leave on for long- will burn your face!
Megan from Raleigh, NC
I bought this product to try to clear up my skin the day before graduation, as I never had issues with other Freeman masks. Product says to leave on 3-5 minute, but I lost track of time and wore it for about 10 minutes tops. When I took off the mask my face was burning and bright red. It looks like I have a bad sunburn all over my face and my skin is hot. In its defense, this product may work well with only leaving it on for 3 minutes, but it still should not be able to burn your face after 10 minutes!!!
