I usually don't write reviews but I feel like as someone that spent a LOT of money on this dryer, it's worth it to give advice to someone thinking of splurging on it... I LOVE this dryer. I've bought many dryers in the past, including cheaper, $50-70 dryers and they don't compare to this one. They are NOT all created equal. Right before I bought this one, I had bought an $80 one and took it back because it made my hair feel like junk. This dryer makes my hair FEEL healthier and LOOK healthier and I have pretty damaged hair from years of highlights and heating tools. It dries my hair fast too (I'm very picky on my wattage of hair dryers.) I love this thing and worth every penny spent. A tip for anyone thinking of it, wait until you have a 20% off coupon and then you can get a good chunk off, like I did!
I had a Hot Tools Black Ceramic Tourmaline quiet hair drier for only 3 moths before it decided to burn up (literally) I LOVED it!! I had perfect blow outs and my hair was always shiny with no product. My hair has never had knots, with any hair drier i have used... except this one. I usually get comments on how healty my hair looks, and this hairdrier took all the shine and volume out of my hair and replaced it with frizz, static and dullness. I do not recommend to anyone who has thicker wavy hair.

I was due for a new blowdryer with the goal in mind to reduce drying time for myself, and narrowed the big multitude of options on the market down to this one and the Dyson Supersonic—but ultimately determined it would be impossible to talk myself into spending $400 on a 1600 watt blowdryer made in Malaysia. This one boasts 30% reduce drying time and I found that it probably actually cut my drying time in half. The hottest heat setting on this dryer doesn't scorch my hair or otherwise make me concerned for the health of my hair unlike every other dryer I've owned, so I switch back and forth between the medium and high heat settings depending on what phase of drying I'm in with a particular section. I even felt it was easier to maneuver, more ergonomic, and produced a sleeker look than my old one, which was a $70 Babyliss Pro Ceramic from about five years ago. No more sweating like a pig over my vanity for an hour plus trying to work my obnoxiously dense head of hair into a presentable style. *So* happy I decided on this dryer.

Took this hair dryer out of the box and it had a rattle! I said, well, that sure doesn't sound right. I tried it, and it had a burning smell but I know some products have that at first, so I kept using it. It seemed to die down as soon as I lifted it up to my head. I thought, well maybe I'm blocking air to it somehow??? Well after about 2 mins. whenever I lifted it, it stopped completely. Not a happy camper. It also made my hair look like straw for the little bit it did dry. Of course it could be due to it being defective, but nonetheless, I wasn't impressed. Also I didn't like the instruction book at all. Hard to find the English parts in it. So back it went, and I sure didn't want another. I decided to go with one for a whole lot less money as I don't think now, that more money means better.

I use this dryer sometimes 2x daily to style my fine hair. It's my second one and I'm really happy I purchased the same dryer again. I can maintain frizz free volume. My hair, while fine, doesn't break off .

This won't burn or fry your hair, the hot/high setting isn't as hot as other hairdryers, but I like that about this one.

I used to have an Elchim hairdryer, and loved it until it burned out, although that's normal for most hair dryers these days (lasted 2 years). I've been using a GHD brand the last couple of years because I like trying new products, and it has worked well, but decided to try another Elchim again. I'm not sure what it is about this newer model, but the air pressure is so weak. When it's on the high speed, it sounds like the low speed of other dryers. I thought it was a defective one, and took it to the store to exchange for another of the same. Well, it's pretty much the same low airflow. It usually took 10 minutes to dry my fine textured long hair, but with this, it was taking 20+! Even on the highest heat setting, which I usually didn't have to use. I'm back to using the GHD I had, otherwise I felt like my shower/get ready time was getting ridiculous with this Elchim.

I've been using this dryer for one month and I'm extremely happy with it. It's very hot and dries my hair quickly. It's also surprisingly lightweight and quiet. I was happy to get a great price during Ulta's hair event but even at full price I think this dryer is worth every penny.

Before this dryer, I had a mid-level dryer that was frying my hair. I couldn't believe that a blow dryer could actually be worth this price. But for me, this one is. I have thin hair but lots of it with a coarse outer layer, so it's usually impossible for me to blow dry my hair smooth. Not anymore. This dryer is faster and more efficient than anything I've used before. My hair is smooth and soft even with minimal effort.

It is definitely quieter and dries hair noticeably faster than my old Revlon dryer -- both qualities I was looking for in a blow dryer; however, it is way heavier than expected, and it quite possibly makes me hair frizzier than the Revlon dryer I used before. However, part of this could just be my poor hair-drying technique. It gets VERY hot (I can only hold it near my scalp for approx. 0.5 seconds before it starts to hurt/burn like crazy) on the hottest setting but has multiple heat settings to choose from. Beautiful/elegant/sexy design. Comfortable handle. The black and gold finishes are both mirrored...gold rim looks a little cheap, but overall the dryer still looks really nice. I especially like the shiny metal/mesh grill on the back. Concentrators hard to attach, but once you get them on, they do not fall/fly off!! Overall, it feels like a very powerful, quality, professional dryer.

I highly recommend it, excellent for curly hair I got the diffuser too and both let my hair amazing.

I got this blow dryer during the 21 days of hair specials. I would have never spent this much on a blow dryer, but I had racked up a lot of points so I got it at a great price. A few of the reviews I read said that it had a weird smell when in use. I did notice a strange smell when I first turned it on but it went away quickly. At first I was a little disappointed that it didn't get hotter but I then realized how fast my hair was drying and it looked friz-free and styled. I'm sure if I used a blowout brush my hair would have looked even better. I'm very happy with this blow dryer. I hope it lasts a long time.

I've only had the hair dryer for about a week, so I can't speak to longevity...however, it's a nice weight and ergonomically comfortable. Does a good job drying my hair

My hair is thick and usually takes forever to dry. Once dry it frizzes and looks awful. This new dryer leaves my hair silky smooth and takes a fraction of the time to dry. Love this dryer!!

I got this dryer because my hair dresser uses this brand. This isn't the same model but it works as good. I like that it doesn't blow my hair into tangles. I have lots of long hair and this is the first dryer to dry my hair in less than 10 minutes. Use to take 30 minutes and I would still have to use a straight iron. Not anymore. I just use alittle hair oil after it's dry. Worth the price!
J from Miami, FL
Works great does not leave hair frizzy and blowing time is quicker than my current blow dryer.

Had to order online due to stores being closed. Plugged it in upon receiving to check out the sound. Turned it on and immediately turned it off. Went right back in box to return. Didn't even want to use it once to check drying performance. It has annoying high pitch sound that sounds like a cheap drugstore model. Regardless of price, not interested in going deaf with high pitch ringing in my ears.

I really like the fact that I don't need my straightener because it dries my hair smooth and frizz free. The drying time Has really been reduced

This really does make your hair softer. Less noisy that regular hair dryers as well.

I absolutely love this hairdryer. After my old one was messing up I was on the fence about buying this one as I thought the price was a little steep for a hair dryer, but after much consideration and many read reviews I decided to try it out especially after reading from another reviewer that it fit the Black Orchid Extava diffuser perfectly.
See I have 2C/3A curls and I wasn't sure if to buy it or not because many of the reviews didn't mention them using it with a diffuser but omg I am so glad I did! The drying time is so much faster and my curls look bouncier and shinier than ever! This dryer didn't squish my curls in a weird way and I love that the airflow is so even and powerful but it does not get overly hot.
Seriously if you're on the fence about this dryer like I was and especially if you want it to diffuse your curly hair get it now you seriously will not regret it!!!
Especially if you get it on sale like I did lol

I have thick, very wavy/S curl hair down to my waist and it usually takes 45-60 mins to dry it with other 2000W professional driers. This dryer dried it in 25 mins and it was super fast, smooth and shiny. First blowdryer ever to still make my hair smell good and not burnt from me tugging on it w/round brushes and w/high heat. I didn't need a flat iron after and it smoothed out my new roots (have the keratin treatment in my hair). The blowout also lasted a very long time. Over a week and I was even sweating when working out and my hair and roots still were straight!
Downside is you have to go over sections a few times as although it dries fast, it can still be some left over frizz if you don't really get in there. I also bought the Babyliss Ferrari Rapido blowdryer, which was also 2000W and felt hotter and dried my hair faster and was lighter to hold, BUT my hair was super dry. I then took out the Elchim and ran it over the hair dried w/the Babyliss and it was automatically must smoother, straighter and shinier.
The blowdryer isn't super heavy, but not as light as the Babyliss Rapido one.
At the end of the day, I recommend it because the pros outweigh the cons!

I had an Elchim dryer that I bought over 8 years ago and it was OK with good strong wind speed but never quite got hot enough. So I decided to order this after reading various reviews about it being good. It is a nice looking dryer and easy to hold and handle when drying my thick, long, curly hair. But once again for a 2000W dryer I don't think it gets hot enough. I like the ionic technology which makes my hair shiny but I need more heat to get the job done faster.

I have only ever used cheap drug store hair dryers (revlon, etc) and never knew a good dryer could make such a huge difference. I bought this after my hairstylist showed me this is the brand she uses at the salon, and WOW I'm hooked for life. It was definitely a splurge, but so worth the price! The first time I used it, I looked like I just left the salon. Even my husband commented that my hair looked great and healthy. I am never going back to $20 hair dryers!! Highly, highly recommend this!!
