Most Helpful Positive Review So good I bought three!
I absolutely love this curling iron. I've been using the 1" for about four months, just added the 1 1/4", and gave one to my niece (who also loves it). The irons heat in an instant, have a very long cord that swivels, and grip the hair very well. I have shoulder length hair that's basically straight. The 1 1/4" iron makes large, loose "curls" that blend together and look like a lot of body, not like defined curls. They 1" makes more defined curls that start as large ringlets that I finger-comb into looser curls. I started with the 1" because I was concerned the larger iron would be too big for my hair length and the curls would fall out since my hair usually doesn't hold a curl. But with Frederic Fekkai styling products and this curling iron, my hair holds the curl all day. This iron is very efficient (cutting down on styling time) because the grip is so good and it gets hot enough that every use is effective. So no do-overs. A word of CAUTION: this iron has the potential to get DANGEROUSLY HOT. The heat settings go up to 10. I keep it at 3 1/2 (medium), which is very hot. When I gave this iron to my 16-year-old niece, I advised her to start at 3 and increase the heat if necessary.
Most Helpful Critical Review I expected more
I originally purchased this product in 2014. I had decided to upgrade and pay a bit more money. I wanted something better than the Conair I had for 2 years that had finally stopped working. I looked around and the staff at Ulta recommended Hot Tools. I loved how it curled, how quicky it heated up, and how easy it was to use. I was happy I spent the extra money. Then after three months of use it just suddenly stopped working. It would heat up all. I had thrown out the receipt. I went back to Ulta they were able to give me partial credit for a new one. I thought ok, it's just a fluke. So I bought the same 2" barrel hot tool curling iron. Again, I loved it! This time I kept the box (just in case). Now, here we are almost one year later but, not quite one year yet, the clamp stops working. Not even 1 year!! Of course, I had moved from MI to SC then from an Apt into a house... I no longer have the box or the receipt. So I'm out of luck. I had my conair curling iron for 2 years and paid half the price. This one I had to replace twice within a year and a half. I'm disappointed in the product. I've attached a picture of the problem. (The ring should stay in the center so it rolls. I would fix it occasionally but, occasionally turned into every other curl.)

BEST IRON I HAVE EVER PURCHASED!!
Annie from Minnesota
I have bought so many curling irons in life, but this one by far is the BEST one I have ever purchased!! It's totally worth the money!! I was a little unsure because of the price at first, but I glad I got it!! The feel of the iron is great, smooth and comfortable. Also very attractive with black, purple, and gold!
Great curling iron

Love this curling iron, it has multiple heat settings and stays hot the temp doesn't fluctuate.
The last Hot Tools I purchased seemed to be better quality

Felt lightweight and flemsy compared to the other Hot Tools curling irons from the past.
Ann22 from Scottsdale
Works as well as any other brand - and I had/have a cheapy. The drugstore brand has a tighter closure so hair doesn't slip out easily as this one. And the temp control is a dial that move about at the slightest touch so I'm constantly having to move heat up. If this wasn't 50% off at time of purchased I would have returned it. Honestly doesn't work any better in any way than the inexpensive drugstore brands.
Great tools but wish they were color coded by size

I have long curly/frizzy hair and I have tried EVERYTHING for my hair to hold a curl. It always turns out to be a big frizzy mess. BUT everything's change since I purchased this curling iron.
My hair finally holds a curl with NO frizz. It's amazing. BUY IT! You won't regret it.

My curls last for 3 days and look amazing! I would definitely recommend buying this curling iron. It is the best one I have ever owned.
burned my hair off & stopped working after!

Ok, i'm not one to leave reviews often but for the sake of other people's hair--i need to warn! I LOVED this curling iron. I used the 1 1/4" size and it created beautiful shiny & bouncy curls! I used it plenty of times within the couple months I had it UNTIL it burned off my hair :( At first, i thought it was because i had it at a high temperature (which wasn't even that high) but I still lowered it. I tried another small section of my hair and I started seeing fumes. I got scared and without even trying to untangle from the barrel--MY HAIR WAS STUCK/BURNED TO THE BARREL.
So then, I was dumb enough to think that if I just disconnected it and reheated it would go back to normal. I was so wrong, it burned off another piece. It was at the lowest heat temp but the barrel was SO HOT.
Not long after, my sister tried using it again but only this time it never turned on.
In conclusion, it burned off my hair & completely malfunctioned after a couple months of use. I want to buy it again because i loved the way it curled my hair but afraid it would malfunction on me again :( I gave it two stars because it did perform nicely at first!

The curling iron is good it also heats up pretty well but the cord always goes bad the exterior is not ripped or damaged it just stops working!!!! At less that a year for two different curling irons that's terrible

Vi from Wichita ks
Use it just like a regular curling iron but I sometimes forget to turn it off that's why I was disappointed it didn't automatically shut off after not being used

1st use was great gave my daughter a cute curl. You have to use a spray to hold.
Melissaitis from California
I have super long thick hair and it's hard to curl my hair it never holds a curl because it's so heavy but this curler curls my hair and it hold all day and the next! I love it. Best curling iron. And I was lucky enough to buy it on sale !
Sadly.. not worth it.
Elle from CO
I was super excited to get this brand because the stylists I had gone to used it and it was amazing! But unfortunately on the 8th or 9th curl the clip handle on the curling iron bend all the way down to the main handle which made it very difficult to get my hair out. It was super disappointing to say the least, so unfortunately I will be returning it. 😕
Worst curling iron
Lindsey B from Alabama
Gets hot but somehow does not curl my hair. I have never had an issue with curling my hair with any other curling iron. Not to mention it leaves horrible clamp marks through my hair. Will be returning
Adri from Los Angeles
I got this in yesterday. I got the 3/4 curling iron just to try something different. It curled my hair really fast. I also didn't use hair spray and it held a curl for about 5-6 hours (that's as long as I was out so I can't say for anything longer then that) I don't know how I feel about smaller curls but I did love the curler. It also came with replacement parts Incase I think the clamp gives out which I thought was really really weird. This makes them look like they aren't 100% sure about the quality of their curling iron.
