This advanced mattifying gel is formulated with powerful oil-absorbing, pore minimizing ingredients. Absorbs on contact without stripping natural moisture. Excellent worn under face and eye make-up, or for touch-ups over make-up, or alone for a finished look without the use of make-up. Also ideal for a man's shiny face and scalp.

Key Ingredients & Benefits:
  • Polysilicone-II - Helps absorb excess oil and creates a satiny, matte finish
  • Silica - Helps absorb excess oil which prevents light reflection giving the appearance of smaller pores
  • Dimethicone - Acts as a skin-conditioning agent

Comments about Peter Thomas Roth Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel:

I truly have oily skin...not combination skin, not "kind of" oily skin...actual oily skin. The kind that within 45 minutes of applying primer, foundation and setting powder I have to blot up excess oil already. This primer was 100% useless. Not effective at all. Waste of money. OK, think I've made my point!

Used under makeup to reduce shine. Worked all day on a photo shoot and didn't need to reapply powder all day.

        Finally got it to work!!!!

Comments about Peter Thomas Roth Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel:

At ulta they tell you to use a small amount. I have very, very oily skin. Used a small amount for about a year and would be oily in an hour. Was reading a review on another product recently and the reviewer said she puts on several layers and that's what works for her with that product. I decided to do the same with this product and to my surprise it worked. I put on about 3 layers before I moisturize, then 3 more layers after moisturizing. My face stays mattied for at least 7 hrs. So if you have very, very oily skin you need to use more. Too bad it's so expensive now I'm gonna have to buy more frequently. In like the finish it gives my face.

This is a must have for oily skin! I use it before applying make up. And it looks great on a freshly cleaned face- no make up! Gives me a clean, matte and smooth look. Stays kept all day and great as a touch up over make up.

Unfortunately, I am still on the search for an oil controlling product. This did not help me. Also, product is a thick gel substance that doesn't dispense very easily from the container. I need to remove the lid and stick a cotton swab or my finger into the bottle to get some out. I even tried storing the product upside down but the product is so thick it doesn't flow to the lid for easy access.

Comments about Peter Thomas Roth Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel:

I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin. My forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin are oily, and I have larger pores on my forehead and cheeks. A dab of this mattifying gel completely gets rid of the shine and my skin looks pore-free. It's truly amazing! I've also never experienced breakouts when using this product, and almost every pore minimizer/anti-shine gel I have used has irritated my skin. This product is rather expensive for the small amount that you get, but well worth it. I would definitely recommend buying this product.

Yes! You can definitely use this as a primer. Texturally and formula-wise it is very similar to a primer.
