Comments about Lime Crime Online Only Unicorn Hair Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

This is my first major lime crime color (I tried Cloud and it didn't work so the company sent me a free Pony) but I bought Chocolate Cherry already and WOW! It's so bright, so fun, and I have not only gotten tons of compliments but actually more men hitting on me with the new hair! Now that's a good thing!

Comments about Lime Crime Online Only Unicorn Hair Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

I used salad on bleached hair and it came out bright and was extremely long lasting. To the point that after 4 months of wear I bleached twice to move onto another color.

I would like to point out - regarding other folks' comments: Please read the directions. Unless specifically called out, you should use on bleached (very blonde) hair otherwise it won't take. This is called out on directions for use. If you're using a product wrong then its not the company's fault that it didn't work out.

I would recommend for darker hair that they do now have 3-4 colors specifically formulated to work on darker bases. Cheers.

lasts like 2 days

By Tiffany

Comments about Lime Crime Online Only Unicorn Hair Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

I had sworn off of lime crime for ethical reasons but against my better judgement gave the sample packets of this a shot because... I'm weak? anyway, opinions about the company aside, this doesn't last. like, at all. I tried 'salad' in my hair and it was vibrant until my first shower. then it looked like I had just spent the month in a chlorinated swimming pool (nasty pale green). it's been less than 5 days and even that less than desirable tint is (fortunately) gone. I bought a sample of two other colors too which I guess I'll use anyway but overall super disappointing.

Comments about Lime Crime Online Only Unicorn Hair Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

I don't usually write reviews, but while scrolling through for a new shade I was surprised at all the negative feedback. I started with strawberry jam (diluted), enjoyed the color and then checked out chocolate cherry. It's been about a month and I still have color, even after washing three times a week. If nothing else, chocolate cherry is a great shade (it's super pigmented and stains though, so wear gloves and wrap a towel around your neck for sure).

Comments about Lime Crime Online Only Unicorn Hair Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

My natural hair is light/medium brown and has previously been professionally colored (balayage), but it's almost entirely grown out. I used 'Charcoal" and it just didn't work. The color had almost no effect on virgin hair, and lasted only slightly longer where my hair had been highlighted before. After two washes, it's almost completely gone and has left behind a greenish hue.

Cloud is more of a toner for blondes...

Comments about Lime Crime Online Only Unicorn Hair Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

I brought my hair down to a VERY light blonde. toned it out. and this didn't even tint it! I give it 2 stars for one good reason, it toned the brass completely out of the blonde, so at least there's that

Comments about Lime Crime Online Only Unicorn Hair Semi-Permanent Hair Color:

I used the gargoyle..... it did zero to my hair. Left it in almost 1 hour and had a professional hairdresser put it in my hair. When we rented it out it literally had done nothing to my hair. Even the blonde pieces in my hair or still yellow and not even tented grey. And what's worse is that this color claims to be a dark gray so it should have covered the blonde and any grey that I naturally had occurring in my hair and it did absolutely nothing. It was a total waste of money. Do not buy this

Thanks for asking! The life cycle of your hair color depends on 3 factors: depth of shade, condition of hair, & how often you wash it. To prolong the life of your color, use gentle shampoos for colored hair, or start with a deeper or more vibrant shade. Have fun, Unicorn!

          • Q:

I have naturally dark blonde roots grown out about 2-3 inches. Then I have heavily highlighted blonde hair just passed my collar bone. Do I need two different products for my hair, and is there one color that I could use for both? Also, maybe a suggestion on two that would complement each other. FYI I'm 40-is, like the pink, purple, and blues. Thanks :)

Thanks so much for asking! We would recommend using Unicorn Hair in Full Coverage shades for hair that is darker than pale blonde to start. Keep in mind that the lighter the hair, the more vibrant the color will show up. The darker the hair, the more the color will appear as a tint. Here are some recommended color combos to try - Blue Smoke, Anime and Pony - Pony, Strawberry Jam and Anime - Aesthetic and Bubblegum Rose. Have Fun Unicorn! Xo

Hey There! Each Unicorn Hair jar contains a generous amount of product - 6.76 fl oz/200 ml. For hair length longer than your tailbone, we would recommend at least 3 jars. Unicorn Hair only requires one application. The longer you leave it on the more vibrant the color will turn out. Enjoy! Xo

Thanks for asking! You can use Unicorn Hair over already dyed hair, however, it will alter your end result. If you choose to use Unicorn Hair over other colors, do a strand test first to determine your color result.

You can absolutely use the 4 new Dark Unicorn Hair dyes over unbleached darker (light to medium brown) hair as they are formulated with maximum pigment. Keep in mind that the lighter the hair, the more vibrant the color will show up. The darker the hair, the more the color will appear as a tint. Enjoy!

Thanks for asking! Full Coverage Unicorn Hair contains higher pigment load and delivers more saturated color. Tints are more sheer in nature - they are suitable for pale blonde hair and will create more pastel results.
